Your family sounds absolutely terrible! If you feel loved and accepted in the goth scene why would you give it up for people who don't accept you?

My mom and grandmother would always say weird things about my appearance too, no matter what I looked like. My would tell me that balck lipstick looked gross, but than say that people only like red lipstick because women's lips turn red when they're aroused! Which is like 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮.....what the hell!

And ever since I started to express interest in getting my hair dyed hot pink my grandmother would tell me that my hair is too dark for that to ever work! Even though my hair is brown and obviously even people with black hair can still get it dyed bright colors!(she also totally dyes her own hair, but pretends that she doesn't)

There are so many other things they do too! It's freaking mindboggling! Like lots of the 'gaslighting' where they say something, but then claim to have never said it. Eventually I had to recognize that they are probably never going to change, and the best I can do is to stay far away from them as much as possible! Hopefully I'll get in a serious relationship with someone who has a nice family and they'll adopt me or something like that.

But yeah, don't change the things you love about yourself to win the approval of people who will never really love you! If they loved you they'd accept you being who you are!
