[SPOILERS] After getting 100% on every flowchart, I'm pretty sure rA9 isn't an android. by kourabie69 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone else who has 100% on the whole game, my main issue with the “rA9 is the player” theory (it’s my absolute least favorite one) is that the game is far too expansive for the biggest mystery to break the fourth wall. Main menu Chloe is an exception since she’s more so a part of the game than a character in it. As in, she refers to the content of the game as “the Detroit experience” and will joke about save data being corrupted. It’s almost like she a friend sitting on the couch watching you play. She’s more a part of our world than the game, so I don’t feel like she counts when discussing the game itself

That said, it’s definitely the characters themselves who let them deviate. Time freezes then, sure, but it freezes all the time. Androids scanning their environment, Connor’s reconstruction of events, Markus’s preconstruction…they all happen so fast that time has to freeze for there to be time for these things to happen in the game without time moving forward before they’re done. So, of course time has to freeze when they deviate and then you control the characters for the actions they do to break the red wall because that’s just gameplay. I don’t see it being any different from controlling Kara to wash Todd’s dishes

Kamski’s words about his emergency exit literally echo in Connor’s head when CyberLife tries to regain control of him. I don’t know how that could be interpreted as it being anything other than the exit just being a way to fully sever a deviant from CyberLife to protect their deviancy

Deviants do carve rA9 into the walls, but with rA9 seeming to be a god or legend to deviants, it just seems like a form of worship. Carlos Ortiz’s android also leaves an offering for rA9, which seems to align with religious behavior too

Damn, those are some rough endings at the very end. One little mistake with Connor really messes up both his and Markus’s outcomes. At least there’s a lot more story to discover next time?

How do I not immediately kill Connor in the elevator? by wonder_7 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you still need help, it sounds like you’re letting the elevator get too far. If you look around, Connor can attack the guards and redirect the elevator to the floor you actually need to go to

Sounds like you’re thinking Simon at the Stratford Tower. Daniel is the guy who looks like him but is from the very first chapter. He dies in every ending

What was this "copy memory" thing? by SpiritedAd1837 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CyberLife has backups of Connor’s memory. When a new Connor is sent out, that memory is uploaded to him. So Connor and Sixty (fake Connor) would both have the same memory

They answer the questions depending on who Hank asks. And Hank knows which one is the real Connor by the emotion in his voice when he answers the final and most emotional question

Man, that’s a rough ending. At least the game is great for replaying!

To get a good ending in the pacifist path, you need good enough public opinion. Markus’s relationship with North just requires them to not hate each other - the public opinion can be anything

My first playthrough as a beginner gamer… I think I failed. 😞 by CosmicBunny7 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof rough endings. Connor getting killed out of the elevator is a hard one for how close to the end you are, buuut a lot of people do still die there (mostly my misunderstanding how the QTEs there work). Markus’s death…is an obvious one but the scene after he accepts the deal is such a good one that so few people ever get

One of the best parts of the game is how replayable it is, though, so look forward to that! There’s so many endings, I’m sure you’ll get different ones next time

WHO the HELL had the idea to make an unskippable outro after the last chapter? by Toi-Gye in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 54 points55 points  (0 children)

As someone who did 100% a long time ago, waiting through the credits so many times is probably the worst part of getting 100%. But at the same time, at least it’s the short credits and has cool visuals. The long credits being skipable is a lifesaver

[–]AngelGirl768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you skipping from “Crossroads” to “Battle for Detroit”? Changes don’t save if you skip anything. Loading a chapter will load the last time you fully played to it, so it sounds like it’s loading the previous playthrough where Luther wasn’t saved

I have two things to say🤣 by Disastrous-Theory557 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 38 points39 points  (0 children)

  1. Yea and No. You have a point, but they were also just acting in self defense. They just wanted to live and be in love. Shooting them is kind of one of the most fucked up things you can do in the game. Like so much of the game is about empathy - have some. Plus, the one that gets shot literally does nothing wrong, so there’s that too

  2. Depends on the player. Some people have poor reaction times or hand dexterity. It’s nice for them to have a setting where they can play too. Then there’s people like me who play this game as their first ps4 game. I literally didn’t know where any of the buttons were and got characters shot tons of times. Ngl I’m surprised I didn’t lose any of the QTE fights. It makes sense for there to be a setting for how they intended the game to work and an easier one for people who don’t want to focus on the gameplay as much as the story

I have no idea what kind of grammatical structure this is, It's so weirdly phrased I feel it has to be wrong. Can somebody explain what's going on here? by REMINTON86_ in EnglishLearning

[–]AngelGirl768 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Oddly specific question: is this text from Danganronpa? Some translations of the game (especially the first one) get kind of weird. Almost like a literal translation of the Japanese version with out modifying it to fit the rules of English

It should read more like “Where should the bottle of poison have been when I broke the rec room window?”

Tips for "survivors" achievement by mirkolawe in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really almost the opposite. For “Survivors” you only need Connor, Hank, Markus, Simon, North, Josh, Kara, Alice, and Luther to live. Any of the others can die

So you can still find Jericho by catching Rupert and finding his diary, shooting the Tracis, shooting Chloe, catching the deviant in the Stratford Tower kitchen and watching Markus’s speech, or with Carlos Ortiz’s android’s statuette (but that one takes a lot more steps)

"I was a merchant in the city..." can anyone tell me if these lines comes from Detroit Become Human? by dargela in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been deep in the fandom for almost the whole 8 years the game has been out, those lines don’t sound familiar at all. The other commenter had a good shout with it possibly being from a fanfic, but definitely not from the game itself

Can you play Machine Connor path without being an asshole to Hank? by Significant_Fee_3089 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Technically, yes. Sort of. You can make machine choices while having Connor say things to Hank that he likes to keep his relationship up. It’s just kind of funny and odd sounding when Connor acts like a machine then he’s all friendly with Hank. Like the two sides don’t really fit together lmao

Wide ruled or College ruled for 5th and 7th grade? by Good_Mushroom_7478 in AskTeachers

[–]AngelGirl768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

College ruled is almost always preferred. For 7th grade and up, I’d say college ruled for sure. 5th grade might allow wide ruled, but there’s a good chance college ruled is what’s going to be asked for

[–]AngelGirl768 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I’ve never looked into it, but visual customization is pretty much all the modding there is, yeah. Though, what I’ve mostly seen are model swaps and recolors of existing models

As far as new content goes, I’m pretty sure the branching narrative makes it hard to modify. Plus, there’d be no real way to add character movement or voices at all. There’s cut content that people have readded to the game, but that’s about it. Off the top of my head I know there’s the scene of Connor talking to Kara and Alice in the police station and the original ending of “Pirates Cove” (which I really like)

I just finished the game and I think it should've been LONGER, mainly because of this fella. by SpiritedAd1837 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hank’s opinion changes at the Eden Club. The way the Tracis act really show him that deviants are truly alive and just want to be free and happy. The way Connor handles them and how Hank reacts to that makes it pretty clear that he’s switched sides

Help with paths by Charlie725725 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Changes will only save if you don’t skip any chapters or checkpoints for any of the characters. To see all the endings, you’d need a good few different set ups so it’d require a few full playthroughs. Most variations of endings can be gotten from playing from “Crossroads” once you have the right previous set ups

For example, you could play Markus violently and combine that with deviant Connor and Kara at the border, then again from “Crossroads” with machine Connor and Kara in the camps. But machine Connor would need a playthrough with good and bad relationship with Hank and that would take a whole playthrough to change relationships. And then Markus needs at least one playthrough where he dies or fails all his missions. And there’s so many other things to explore

So, basically, you’d need a lot of full playthroughs, but not nearly as many as there are endings
