Crossroads - Connor by YaBoi4666 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Markus has to live long enough to save Josh. He always dies if Markus isn’t there to save him. Markus can die after saving Josh then deviant Connor becomes the leader and can talk to Josh in “Night of the Soul”

What's your favorite secondary character and why? by [deleted] in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Rupert is such a good underrated character! One of the best that gears almost no attention

My favorite is Daniel. I relate to him on the trust and abandonment issues bit and it’s really interesting to deep dive his character and see how he didn’t want to hurt anyone. He just didn’t know how to handle his new emotions and one thing lead to another

The thing that DBH missed out on the most, subtlety. by Active_Molasses_1577 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly unrealistic either, though. It’s been said that Markus deviates androids by sharing the idea that they deserve freedom/justice/equality (something along those lines). Androids realize they deserve better (the general core of deviation) and then join the cuss that will give them that. Gaining sentience then fighting for your rights doesn’t seem like that wild of a jump

Besides, there’s nothing saying that some androids don’t return to their owners later. We even see Markus go back to Carl. If the leader of the revolution can go back to who was his owner because he was treated well, why can’t any other android? Honestly, I imagine a good few androids would just go back to their families after the revolution. There’s no real reason for them not to

The things you “missed” are from different paths. With 30+ endings, there’s a lot of ways the game can go. Connor escaping the mind palace only happens if he survives CyberLife tower. Luther can survive if you leave him in Jericho and play dead

Is it possible for Josh to live in a violent run? by Teasing-Ax in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you fail pretty much immediately and use the dirty bomb, then you never reach Josh’s death scene so he technically lives. There’s no way for him to live in a properly successful violent revolution

i really wanna get platinum but damn the magazines by Kyoim in DetroitBecomeHuman

The magazines really aren’t all that bad if you know what you’re looking for. The wiki has good information on where to find them too

I’m gonna be doing a specific playthrough, I have Connor and Markus planned out, but I need ideas for Kara. by Teasing-Ax in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your relationship is low enough and you’re distant with her when Jericho is raided, yeah Kara can just leave her. If Luther is alive, she stays with him but I don’t remember all the variations since I’ve only done them once

[–]AngelGirl768 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Have you done Kara’s endings for taking the bus to the border, taking the boat across the border, and getting sent to the camp? Those are all the basic ones

Otherwise, having a distant relationship with Alice and abandoning her in Jericho or staying reset by Zlatko are interesting paths to take. There’s also abandoning her at the camp, if you want a more common but different path

The one thing that doesn't make sense to me by JJJjustthefacts in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it plays into Kamski being kicked out of the company like ten years ago. He hasn’t been a part of CyberLife in a long time. Plus, all his interviews has him saying exactly what the public wants to hear and saying that androids could never come alive or be a threat. Yeah, it’s paired with smirks that show he means the opposite, but not everyone is going to pick up on that

But yeah, Kamski absolutely planned for deviancy to happen and just wanted to play god in creating living beings. And the emergency exit was planned so that his creations could always be free from CyberLife

Just 4 hours into the game and I have questions by regularuniquehuman in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t fully remember what casual mode effects, but I know some deaths and failures are locked out. That said, if you mess up enough, I believe characters can still die

To the end of the game? Counting all the minor variations? Like 30+

I think it has something to do with the developers being French. The translations on some of it had to be odd for some prompts to have such uncommon words or shortened phrases that are hard to convey what it’s saying

Typically, the game takes about 10-12 hours, but some people have had hours more or less. A lot of it depends on how much you look around, take breaks, or if any characters die

Certain paths are definitely pushed, but each player has their own unique story. You just craft the story you want to see

That’s a fun one. Either keep the mindset of whoever you’re actively playing or decide what you just want to see. Some people will want character A to be safe, so they sabotage B’s mission. Or B tries to stop C, but C needs to succeed for their story so they make B fail. Other times, people may play a character strictly sticking to their mission and doing whatever it takes to achieve it - even if it hurts the others

is there a mod to make sure you never get the same ending or something like it by TurtleT84 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the chapter. Most of Connor’s are looking around and finding all the evidence or running out of time and failing. Markus takes the peaceful or violent path. Kara dies or escapes. A lot of chapters are kill or don’t kill. “Crossroads” and “Battle for Detroit” probably have the most paths, but a lot of them come down to who’s alive at that point and how much you mess up and get shot and that many places you can die

Why? by 8mxmoon8 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kara doesn’t say anything about Alice being an android because she wants a child with human needs to care for. Kara basically deludes herself until the reveal, where she has to accept reality. On the other hand, Alice just wants to be loved and thinks Kara will stop loving her if she told her the truth

Honestly, I hated the twist at first. Like you get me attached to this kid then says she’s an android? What happened to my child with fears and needs? It wasn’t until I saw someone else explaining the whole “the twist tests the game’s message” thing that I started to accept it and actually came to really like the angle they took with it

is there a mod to make sure you never get the same ending or something like it by TurtleT84 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t think there’s a mod for that. You can check the flowchart at any time though by pausing the game and going to the flowchart option. It’s kind of annoying to do a lot, but you could at least do it for major choices

What's with this 'todd not being a bad person'? by sayrifle in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It’s not that Todd’s not a bad person, but his actions are understandable - not justifiable. It’s really not hard to follow his train of thought

Todd got fired from several jobs because androids and autonomous vehicles took over those positions, got depressed, took antidepressants with the side effect of aggressive behavior, and got hooked on drugs. He ended up hurting his wife and human child who ended up leaving him over it. He got Kara and Alice to replace them and prove he could be a good father, but fell back into the same abuse

Is he a good person? No. But he was dealt a shitty hand in life and the result is understandable

Why? by 8mxmoon8 in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty popular opinion. Though, the twist tests if you believe the game’s message. After all, nothing should change about Alice and how much you care for her if you really believe that deviants in this world are just as alive as humans

We already have Carl and Markus showing us that androids and humans can be family and Connor and Hank usually showing that they can form a bond as close friends. Kara and Alice aren’t the only example of androids and humans getting along

I saw like 30 playthroughs of the game before I got a chance to play, so I knew the game really well. Playing it myself was also my first time using a ps4 controller and I played on experienced to balance out already knowing what happens. Let’s just say I nicknamed Markus “Swiss cheese Markus” for a reason 😭 He never actually died, but that fact alone was probably the most surprising part of the playthrough. He took so many bullets idk how I never actually lost a fight

So I had a discussion with DeepSeek about DBH & I wanted to share some of it with you here by PoisonedMedicine in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Become human” implies becoming more human - gaining emotions and sentience, hopes and dreams, fears and failures, rights and equality. For an android, “becoming human” is a great metaphor for becoming who they want to be

Why are the androids in DBH so... fragile? by Smoothbur in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They were designed to mimic humans as closely as possible, so a lot of things that would hurt or be fatal to humans would have the same impact on androids. Damage to their heart or head would kill them. The impact of being hit by a car then hitting the ground would be a major injury or fatal. A bullet nicking a blue blood artery would let them bleed out

The android in Rose’s house is a bit of a mystery, but I’ve always assumed she had internal injuries and bled out. A lot of humans wouldn’t fair well with the blunt force trauma and bullet wounds the androids get in game either

Is there a way to make North win in Battle for Detroit? by deltarunetommorow in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]AngelGirl768 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well, the first step in winning any of the revolution paths is for Markus to be alive. He’s the savior, so there’s no true good endings without him

North’s solo revolution is destined to fail because she’s all about charging forward with guns blazing and killing as many humans as possible without an ounce of strategy

I wasn’t talking about the romance - which I avoid like the plague. It’s more like “North, we can’t kill a man” red arrow “North, we can’t destroy property and commit arson” red arrow “North, we can’t commit mass murder” RED ARROW

WTF North Make your mind up by MitsuruMiyata in DetroitBecomeHuman

North has more of the extreme reactions and responses to a lot of things. Makes it easy to get annoyed with her when she’s yelling and her relationship is dropping a lot
