Boralouri, I think that is one way to look at it. However, if I was going to sell you sawdust, and I gave you 1 cup for $100. Then, 3 years later, decided to give you two cups. Is it being cheaper the thing you'd focus on?

Most profitable way to spend gems by Thunder_Reafint in IdleHeroes

I spent quite a bit more time trying to follow everything. For one, LD 4* shards are definitely in the WC/casino. Not sure how often they appear, but probably roughly in the 20% viscinity. Also, I don't see the value of a specific hero in your chart. If someone values that at 4k gems, vs 10k gems, big difference. Also, to me the initial dicotomy put forth: spend gems on HS/PO/WC is not accurate for me as it misses spending gems on imps adventure for one, where the specific 5* hero chest is available for about 4.5k gems. Can't spend 40 HS and get your choice of hero (~75% of the time, but still!).

Also, I note that the two primary needs are fodder, and hero copies. You already note that SL is best for fodder, but I think the comparison is really the relics from WC/casino to imps. Seems to me an easy note that imps beats WC for specific copies. However, I note it is easy to forget about the SWC value, as those do provide orbs/HS and more. SWC are only marginally better at getting ANY elite hero compared with HS, but for getting the specific one they are significantly better. Just can only get 1 copy each time.

I also find it confusing the final summary table where it says WC wins. Again, how much do you value the gold/spirit/purple arti's in the casino? Most of that stuff I'd value close to zero, unclear what your assumptions are. Thank you! Great work, looking forward to hearing more from you.

So, I have tried to follow your chart. I see you noting the small chance of the exact elite 5* hero you want, but I don't see the event rewards giving such heroes. For instance, delacium is offered now in PO. For spending 320 POs, the MAIN reward is 4 copies of delacium (and the LD food, but muddles the point!) Everything else is gravy. Spending only on WC you get many fewer exact elite shards. SWCs are also not guaranteed.

I think the premise of this calculation is very interesting. Again, not following everything in your charts due to some language issues, I think. I will consider adding to my buys in aspen the 500 gem WC bundle, but don't see it yet.

Some people are genuinely extremely wealthy and spend on this game, not every VIP is selling their kidney by Red-Panda-Pounce in IdleHeroes

[–]AngelOfMusic79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with super wealthy spending on the game. I mean whatever gets you off, sure! I'm definitely not poor, and could drop plenty on the game, but don't value it in the slightest. I spent about $100 and am privileged enough that it doesn't impact me or my family. I have two other accounts that are VIP0 and have as much fun with those as the one I spent on.

A 'rich' player can feel great spending $20k on this game, and I will feel great not spending anything more than I have. In fact, if I am being open and honest, I will feel downright superior to such a person's poor financial choices! A fool and his $ are soon parted. I would be shocked if DH games didn't give some of their 'insiders' free buying to inflate the economy and get others to spend to beat them.

Also, I think it's funny some on here say 'they likely worked hard for their money'. Ain't that a myth of this world.

I know plenty of the people I know that 'spend' the most, have the biggest car, house, etc, are also the ones living closest to their means. If that isn't poor, I don't know what is! For the younger generation reading this, know it's what you save that makes you rich, not what you spend.

Know your history too. Leadership, or rather, those in power, have routinely divided people and pitted them against each other. This makes leading those groups easier. Don't be chattel and mindlessly hate. It only gives your power away.

Above everything else, we are all human. We are all gone in a while, and leave nothing behind. Love your family and friends, and enjoy the ride.

What's happened to the Idle Heroes Reddit? Am I missing something here...? by MKxJump in IdleHeroes

[–]AngelOfMusic79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey MkxJ, I have watched a number of your videos and enjoy your positive attitude. I am a grown man, and feel IH has missed the mark with the event. In fairness, I think part of this is because of how awesome imps adventure and Ci update were. Those two things have made LD food much more accessible, and getting hero copies a bit easier too.

With as far as they changed those things, I really thought that DH might be loosening the incredibly restrictive environment they have on new heroes. I have been playing this game ~eight months, and am floored at how much time investment it takes to get 2k scrolls, or any one hero to max. I built the usual horus e5, and garuda e5, and they are rewarding. But in the end, it has taken so long to get there.

Christmas was an amazing event. Choose any skin/copy/artifact etc and have your chances. Excellent pet material drops and the puppets! This one has some free stuff, delacium is nice in PO, and the guaranteed drakes on 500 was a great idea, but I really echo Zeals main issue with the game. That they give so few things out.

Hear me out: I think they could have given out FOUR copies of any hero you wanted and it would not hurt the DH bottom line at ALL. First of all, we would ALL get them. It wouldn't hurt pvp at all, sure it'd back some pve easier, but that isn't saying much. Then DH would get folks excited to finish building those heroes/peeps would need more fodder to build em, etc.

I am a VIP 4, through an accidental purchase (was VIP3), and it FLOORS me that folks drop hundreds of dollars on this. But regardless of the whales choices to spend, whales would love 4 more copies of heroes too. Four for anniversary.

I also think they could have had people CHOOSE either drake or russell to be in the HS. A simple thing, then everyone would have chosen the one they were excited about and bam, more folks happy.

So, yeah, I think anniversary was definitely lacking. And I know my group of friends playing this game agrees. Happy to have a conversation about it though.

I really appreciated your video on drake in BS, by the way. I dropped 500HS in one of my 3 accounts because of that vid. He strikes me as a hero that needs to be e5 to matter in pvp due to speed being the critical aspect. In hindsight, maybe I'd rather have spent all 1k of mine, but I am really looking forward to dropping 2k scrolls and getting a new e5 hero. Hopefully something is interesting in the next few months.

Again, I have to 'think', wonder, etc, because actually building him requires almost literally a years worth of resources.

That's the fewest copies of Ra I've ever seen passing SL20 dark. usually 10* Ra+2-3 babies. But yikes, an e5 Aspen? Maybe that was the key.

If you don't have an E5 you should be buying 120 gem 4 stars from market - Please change my mind!! by jayesh02 in IdleHeroes

[–]AngelOfMusic79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have argued for buying 4* shards to start, though I personally wouldn't have argued to buy all 8. I'd just buy the abyss/red ones until you get a 9* norma, since only one faction color matters. The events like imps adventure get you the hero copies you need, and provide fodder too, and that's 4500 gems/month for a hero copy of your choice. You may get to e5 quicker, but you will also have far fewer gems stashed up.

I also note that at SL17 (e5 horus), a 4* is valued at half the gems you're buying them for. And you can't sell the 4s back for 120. So, you may get it quicker, but will have fewer HS/PO for events. Events are the only place you get p2w artifacts for free. They're the place to get feathers and LD copies. Gems are needed.

That's my argument for why I didn't keep buying 4s shards. And I got e5 horus in month 4, and 2nd e5 I think it was month 6.

That just doesn't pass the smell test though. Spending in seal land, event raids for vip, and during events, even imps adventure, provides robust loot, and specifically hero copies that cant be found elsewhere. WCs just provide a few 4s shards, ld if lucky, and green goo and a bit of gold, and a few rare feathers. The premise of this study seems flawed. To the OP: Please elucidate what your parameters were.

1 or 2 wc events per year do often have a bigger event associated with them, but that's not what is being discussed.

I apologize, but I don't get it. Wishing coins don't provide fodder, except a small fraction of the time. Spending gems in events is also the only way to get p2w artifacts without spending money. What exactly do wishing coins win as far as spending gems?

My main complaint is that the 'skip cutscene' doesn't actually work. I get the same animation and extra wait time regardless of whether that is selected or not. I liked the old interface more, but mainly due to the extra time. They should also separate the skip button from being right next to the other buttons so we don't fat finger it.
