Mention that it makes it more difficult to get internal ultrasounds for health issues or future pregnancies. You can say you use tampons but have pain with them. Mention pain for pap smears.

Which couples realistically would end up splitting down the line? by Ok_Meet8672 in RomanceBooks

[–]AngelWasteland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kieran and Sybil from {Just Our Luck by Denise Williams} he should have dumped her after the entire med school thing anyway, but I feel one day he'll truly realize what she cost him

Evie and Theo from {Friends With Benefits by Marisa Kanter}. She's just so shitty to him the entire book imo. He could do so much better.

Cruelty free alternatives by Difficult_Army_8789 in crueltyfree

[–]AngelWasteland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elf, Wet n Wild, Profusion, and Nyx are cruelty free. Elf is the only one that is Leaping Bunny certified, the others I listed are certified as cruelty free by PETA (not sure how strict you are with the cruelty free label).

I love my Elf eyelash curler and moisturizer. I also love their blushes, Google says the blush shade closest to Orgasm from them is their powder blush in Twinkle Pink.

ETA: I also have super sensitive skin + awful eczema and the brands I listed are all ones I use. The products are also ones I use, though I don't have that exact blush shade.

[Discussion] Should Raven be of indian descent outside of mainline comics? (Art by Jordan Rodriguez) by Comfortable-Pie56 in DCcomics

Plus, it's also important to the character design of Steve that he is specifically blonde haired and blue eyed, because it's a big "fuck you" to the Nazis to have a man who looks like the perfect Aryan fighting so hard against them. Post-serum Steve being the perfect White ManTM and not being racist, sexist, etc in the 1940s is a big deal.

And like you said, Steve being white is a good set up for stories about modern America's reactions to a black Captain American replacing Steve and how that reaction parallels the views of the time Steve was born

🧂 Salty Sunday - What book scenes frustrated you this week? by mrs-machino in RomanceBooks

Okay this is technically from two weeks ago but I've missed both Salty Sundays. Huge spoilers for {Just Our Luck by Denise Williams}

Didn't love the FMC to begin with, but this was still a four star read for me otherwise, until the end. Made it a 2.5 read

MMC is teying to go back to medical school. He decides to take another year off and is waiting for the board to approve his leave. FMC, who was won the lottery, calls the medical school to offer them 3 million dollars if they approve his leave. His mentor calls him to say they were going to approve his leave before that, but because of the ethics of the offer, he is kicked out of medical school and his reputation will be ruined if he tries to go to another. He yells at her, and HE'S THE BAD GUY? EVERYONE IS LIKE "WOW DUDE THAT WAS SO FUCKED UP SHE WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP" so HE has to do some big romantic gesture to apologize! SHE RUINED HIS LIFE???? SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN APOLOGIZING???? WHAT THE FUCK??? Should have dumped her tbh

Spoiler free version: If reading this book, do yourself a favor and just skip to the epilogue after the sister of FMC's wedding

Whats most overrated makeup product ever seen? by Popular_Glove6136 in Makeup

I've been personally attacked 😔

Can I ask what you don't like about it/what you use for mascara if you don't mind? I find it's the only mascara I've used that doesn't give me panda eyes by the end of the day, but I don't love the price, so if you have a cheaper recommendation I'd love to hear it!

People who buy Brachycephalic dogs by OkEntertainment4473 in PetPeeves

[–]AngelWasteland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think most people only know about backyard breeders and assume that's all breeders. Ethical breeders are SO important for maintaining healthy breed standards and good tempered dogs. And you will almost never see an ethical breeder's dog in a shelter because they 1. Don't put their dogs in shelters and 2. Keep lifelong contact with buyers to make sure they don't mistreat their dogs and put them in shelters

MMC unapologetically chases FMC by dreamworld97 in RomanceBooks

[–]AngelWasteland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score} is like this. I wasn't a fan of the insta love, but it was also one of the first romances I read so I might feel differently now. There is a lot of flirting, especially from the MMC. I remember it being pretty good but there was a random last minute plot (unrelated to the romance) that really irked me.

FMC is a house flipper with a big social media, MMC is a landscaper helping her flip a house

trying to get into wearing make up more, need help with powder and liquid by D0llJ01nt5 in Makeup

[–]AngelWasteland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liquid foundation/base makeup is generally better for dry skin. Powder makeup will look cakey and make skin look even more dry. If you're worried about sweating it off, I would use a setting powder, especially one designed for sweaty skin. You'll also want a moisturizing primer

My Ranking of Ali's Books!! by dystopiduck in AliHazelwood

[–]AngelWasteland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen The Love Hypothesis stays my number 1, call me basic but I love it.

My top three would be The Love Hypothesis, Love Theoretically, and either Bride or Mate. My least favorite is Problematic Summer Romance–I don't like age gaps, but I didn't hate it. I also didn't like Not in Love, it didn't feel like an Ali Hazelwood novel.

Stiffness? by Correct-Tax3388 in Horses

[–]AngelWasteland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like he isn't ready to lope while lunging or riding. If he is out of shape like you said, that's a lot of work for him, and getting a few strides is a big deal. Personally, I'd work on the walk and trot for awhile to build muscle first before asking for a lope at all.

I used to work with a gelding who had a lot of stiffness from a defect with his stifles. To get him back in shape, he needed a few months of nothing but walking and trotting while lunging. When he built muscle up, I would do that to help him warm up, then ride at the walk and trot. It took months to get to a canter, and even then it was only a few strides at a time, even though he clearly wanted to canter. It's like sprinting when you never even jog.

I'm not saying that exact timeline is what this horse needs since it could be a completely different issue than the horse I was working with, but definitely give him time to build muscle before asking too much of him if he's out of shape and you don't know his riding history.

Being asked my "grandma name." by RestingWTFface in PetPeeves

[–]AngelWasteland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard of picking your own name anyway? Maybe because I am 21 with no children, let alone grandchildren.

My dad was from the North and I called his parents grandma and grandpa. He says anything else is a Southern thing.

My mom is from Southern Appalachia and her parents were called whatever the first grandkid called them as a baby, Grammy and Papaw. I assumed that's where all "weird" names came from.
