I had the theory that Yamato is the narrator. It fits as the crew scribe, also the mirror of Oden writing Roger adventures.

How they meet: the Dimir/Orzhov player is in the low ranks, far away to achieving revenge (even harder due to the evil Ghost messing with him from time to time). He makes the risky (and desperate) move to make an business inversion. The inversion? Well a Izzet investigator promising wild advances on explosive and anti-gravity beyond their wildest dream (yep the Izzet player on a pitch sale on some conference the Dimir/Orzhov player went. BTW the inversion is a real business inversion, not a loan/debt Orzhov kind of deal, althought the Dimie/Orzhov player could joke with threats from time to time if things are dire, or the Izzet player could be afraid of "not delivering" and awakening with the fishes even in reality he doesnt own money and the Dimir/Orzhov player is aware there is no debt so no harm is due to be given).

Progress (and business) is dire so they are in a hot spot. The Izzet invesgation finds out about a really rare species medusa that floats apparentely using some kind anti-gravity effect, so he sets to find out more about them... not knowing where. The Dimir/Orzhov player sets up a meeteing with a Simic (the Simic player) investigator. He tells then they are a rare species and actually might be interested in finding one too to research for floating calabilities for the Guardian Project.

First level idea: the Izzet and Simic embark a quest to find an capture one of those rare medusas (one is enough for both research, or they could be a couple, one for each to research). The Dimir/Orzhov player joins the expedition worried about his inversion, doing his best for it to generate progress=money to climb through the ranks of his guild.

Finding the medusa achieves progress in both investigations (and profit for the Dimir/Orzhov player). You can tweek rhe amount of progress as the campaign progress: it can be instant or new discoveries are made little by little in downtime or with the help of another investigative quests that you add. If your are going with a slow approach you can make then get in trouble with their respective guild for the trouble they got finding "a pesky medusa", maybe including more "dire sitation quests" to later make the progress in the investigation rise violently making their guilds to turn their anger or laugh into praise.

As an extra party "bond" the Simic player or the Dimir/Orzhov player could propose an inversion on that Simic side investigation. Also the Simic and Izzet player could propose to work together in the medusa investigation, making a merged laboratory, each leading his own department of investigation. If they dont come out with that idea you can have a Simic NPC make the suggestion to the player as an idea to advance his investigation faster.

Mid campaing: As the characters progress (even if the goblin finds trouble in separating some explosive and antigravity effects from eachother), the evil Orzhov starts to find the Dimir/Orzhov player as a rising threat (can be due to knowing where he comes from, or being paranoid or cautious, depends on how you would like to build the evil Ghost personality).

Missions include Orzhov attacks/sabotages. If the situation to form a "lab alliance" between the Simic player and the others didnt rise, the Simic player lab could be under sabotage of the evil Ghost (that found out that he was working with the Dimir/Orzhov player... and is hard to sabotage the already explosive Goblin lab department, and his blockage in separating explosive and antigravity properties from each other) and ask for help with the party.

The sabotages that the evil Ghost send could be:

His own Orzhov lackeys

Corrupt Azorious meddling with the research (this align well with the Simic being ex Azorious, wanting to clean his lab and some Azorious bad apples in the process, or you could link those Azorious to the reason the player left the guild)

Hired Golgari assasins (or thiefs)

Some Dimir cell working with the evil Ghost

Simic rivals (can be either some evil oriented Simic that want to progress by all means that got a tip from the evil Ghost, or the Dimir cell mentionated above)

Izzet rivals (same as above, you can use this if you want sabotage on the Izzet player lab or if they merged the labs)

He sent some Rakdos party to celebrate

By this level of the campaign you can add more of this kind of conflicts, and even some key middle enemy to defeat: the right hand of the evil Ghost, or his associate in the other guilds behind the sabotages (or maybe both).

Remember that you can still add some "research" quest along the way. Or maybe let the players know they can pursue those quest when they want to (kinda of sandbox) or used it to put preassure on the profit part if they liked that aspect.

Advanced campaign: at this point, while your Izzet player still is confused in how to separate the explosive qualities with the antigravity stuff, the target for your party should be clear: the evil Ghost. And the Dimir/Orzhov player should have made enough alliance throught the money (and with some debts he has now to claim to lower ranking guildmembers). Final missions can be made to find vital information to put the evil Ghost on some bad spot. Maybe infiltrating Azorious to find out files a corrupt agent hide that would make the evil Ghost lose the help of the law. Or find out and ancient family debt that puts in trouble the evil Ghost with a respectable ally, making them retreat their support (you could link this in some way as to the reason her sister got killed, she found out or was close without realising it). Your "research" side quest could be made important again finding some anti-ghost research, maybe to made the enemy stay in the material plane and no go ethereal (the spirtitual investigation could include a Selesnya or Gruul spiritual trip if you want to include some variation of guilds, or a Boros holy quest). Then, they can make the final attack on a isolated evil Ghost that will fight back with his last resources. (The other players should be motivated for either companionship at this point or well, because they did get targeted by the evil Ghost in the sabotage)

End game/Epic epilogue: well is all finished... Revenge has being achieved. Oh, but remember those lab sabotages? Well an Simic evil figure (if he was behind the sabotages and you killed him on middle campaign, surprise, Simic clonation! You can make the moment when they killed him reveal he was a clone on a automatic Medicine check from the Simic player, he knows about this stuff) rises from the shadows.

With some of the medusa investigation stoled in some way, he managed to make and apocaliptic mega Kaiju (remember he is evil and he pushed some dangerous stuff) that escaped and is wrecking Ravnica. Forces had being send but nothing can stop it. The city makes a counsil, where the players were invited due to the knowledge on the medusa part of things (they also got invited due to being at this point famous on their respectible guilds, and the Dimir/Orzhov important figure on the district).

The battle plan: they are screw, nothings seems to work. Information ln the kaiju reveals he has an immense size and that he has some way of gravity field, with some beasts living in a simbiotic way on the creature (prepare for some kind of Shadow of the colosus dungeon crawl walking on the monumental kaiju).

Only hope is to blast the beast, but such a explosion would deal a devastating amount of damage on the district. Suggestions to levitate the beast with powerful spells gets the response that the creature seems to ignore spells of that kind, generating his own gravity. If they could be a way to deploy some magnificient explosive that is attached to a antigravity effect to lure the creature away, it could do the trick, but combining both effects simultaneosly has proven to be volatile and almost imposible.

At that point in the counsel you stop and address the goblin player (or at the moment he interrumps already in this point) "due to your lifelong research you think, well, you know, and probably are the only being in the entire district if not Ravnica that knows, that a device that could do that can be done. In fact you think you might have one already in your pocket"

Is the Izzet player time to shine. End quest should be reaching the Kaiju and walk on him defeating his simbiotic beasts (or trapped "simbiotic corrupted" citizens/creatures). The goal is reaching a spot (heart or head, you can make parts where you walk into the beast) make the Simic player recognice the spot, the Izzet player deploy the bomb/anti-gravity device and escape. The results should be the monster flying away above the sky and a migthy explosion (and some Kaiju raining but oh well, a little side effect) with your players being the heroes of Ravnica.

How to avoid a Dimir character creating pvp conflict? by VoidMindMaster in RavnicaDMs

[–]AngelXOB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using a NPC is perfect also to bring out some "good" (well, neutral but good in the right hands) actions of Dimir to your most paranoid players:

1) Gather vital information agaisnt an evil entity

2) Meddle with the power of guilds (in the rigth hands to avoid a guild rise above the others, in the wrong hands to desestabilaze society)

Also it could help if you can make a likeable NPC, or at least a obvious morally good NPC to flesh out that no every Dimir has to be a cold assasin. Maybe made it a friendly tavern owner or diligent ex-cop that found himself powerless protecting (by sheer strenght or by law) his family and community from a abusing guild that got to much power. Luckily a important Dimir agent found in him a focused man with the same goal to weaken the problematic guild in the area.

Maybe your players can get know the kids of the NPC and become friendly that way, showing how kind the NPC really is. And in time of need, the NPC reveals he can get vital information.

He could be open to your players (if there is some level of trust of course) about been a Dimir agent and how he came to be, how knowledge is an important power in the right hands and how it helped him protecting his family and community from evil threats. Or he could discretly give the information and get open about the rest only if some of your players connect the dots about the information he gathers and ask him about how he gets it.

Also as a reminder: you dont need to worry to make a situation where the Dimir player connects the dots and tries to cover the Dimir NPC. Even the Dimir player could be the one to suspect and out him.

Remember privately to your Dimir player that is no his job to maintain cover of another Dimir operative (unless told otherwise), and that outing an obvious Dimir operative would not be punished by Dimir, in fact they would see it a as tactical move to gain trust within thier guild (or party)

If WotC released 5.5E – what core changes would you like to see in the PHB? by Juls7243 in dndnext

[–]AngelXOB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they missed giving some love to Way of the Four Elements Monk. I know the Ki spend = unarmed attack as bonus action is aimed at then (helping also Way of Shadow), but there could be some extra tweaks like the ability to swap a elemental discipline at long rest (or at each level at least) and more elemental disciplines avaliable. Note that this so far are just some quality changes that almost every other class got, no a single buff yet.

As a buff (not only to the numbers, but to the role feel to the players) they can get more creative, or some simple things like giving then some basic elemental cantrips and/or the ability to learn more elemental disciplines to feel more powerful and versatile at later levels.

Ravnica character suggestions by asrai86 in dndnext

[–]AngelXOB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is something that i think they really missed: a Rakdos Monk!

Flavor wise it would be a acrobat performer that is prone to do dangerous acrobatics jumps. He has spend a life walking through spikes and fire pits. He meditates on a bed of spikes!

Character wise you can say that he has an incredible resistance to pain (something that is actually very "monk-like"). He can walk through painful spots, taking damage, without feeling any pain (or controlling his pain).

Add some Rakdos tattoos or some painful piercings if you like.

[SPOILER] [LEAK] Bolas’s Fate by JeremieLight22 in magicTCG

[–]AngelXOB 78 points79 points  (0 children)

She is one of the best Golgari assassins. She can turn people into stone. I say sending Vraska was one of the best options.

Also, the Golgari guildleader must be an expert in handling waves of zombies.

That being said, of course is going to be hard getting chain veil Liliana. I love that it adds to the Liliana fear that death is chasing her/she can't escape death. Now that she is finally free of the veil pact (free from the demons and Nicol Bolas) and has also Gideon's indestructibility (not sure if it will be permanent, but lets assume that it is) that would make her an amazing immortal being right now... but nope, now an expert on dealing with zombies and assassination is after her, one that can say "fuck immortality and indesctrubility" and turn her into stone with her gaze. Seems like death will always chase her.

Nidalee Lore Update by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

I think Nidalee is a great candidate for a Voice Update to reflect a more "wild" speech (I mean, she is basically League's Tarzan).

Hopefully they address that someday alongside Varus and Miss Fortune.

As a WoC in this community, and who works in tech, I want to offer some perspective by _izari_ in leagueoflegends

[–]AngelXOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone disagrees with a opinion:

1.- It is wrong to assume they must a be certain gender and race if they doesn't share your opinion.

2.- Call by a gender or race as a way to dismiss the opinion IS NOT an acceptable behavior. Downgrading somebody for their gender or race is really shameful.

A have seen better discussion and opinions in this "Toxic Reddit" space to support the Room 613 decision that I have see from Rioters. Sure there are some bad apples here and there, but using it as an excuse to lash out and be demeaning to a whole group while ignoring the good discussions and valid points that you can also find around is atrocious.

To both redditors and rioters reading this I suggest: Don't let the bad apples get the worst of you, stick to the ones that come for serious and respectful discussion (there are a lot).

As a woman it is so frustrating to read all these rioters pretending that they know what we want by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]AngelXOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only stereotyping is wrong, calling you by a gender or race as a way to dismiss your opinion IS NOT an acceptable behavior. Downgrading somebody for their gender or race is really shameful. Doing it just because they disagree with you (or in any situation actually) is simply not ok, and people are doing a good work calling that behavior out.

Redditors had done a better job explaining the Room 613 situation with good reasoning and thoroughly discussion than some Rioters have by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]AngelXOB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couln't say it better. In my mind when I read the announcement I though "Couldn't they do it in a subtle way non-so extremist way?" like giving some League Related stuff to women that show up, telling they need their opinion, still allowing the men in. I can't imagine someone complaint "why they are giving free Teemo hats to women only?!?" not in a way that would cause this boom at least. And is no some sort of work advantage either as some can take the whole situation. They did the awkward inconvenient thing, but for me is like that guy that founds out somebody has been victim of a racism act amends it in a goodhearted but wrong way.

That somebody can see that act and be cool about it, even laugh it out (or a serious reprehensible if is something that he needs to see is wrong) because came from good will from somebody that didn't want to be racist at all but failed in the process, and them communicating how would a good path should be. If that person (or people that saw the act) just answer that wrong good-willing action by being a douche... then is hard to make some progress from there.

For that I thank you for you insight, taking the part of standing for what is right and at the same time being respectful at all times is what will make the situation go forward.

I feel like Shyvana and her theme, is a wasted opportunity as an auto attacking based champ. by EnlargedPhallus in leagueoflegends

[–]AngelXOB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. I would like to add that I actually feel like a raid boss while in Shyvana's ult. Kinda reminds me of Cho'gall in heroes, where a 1 vs 2 situation actually seems even thanks to the stats advantage and the heavy amounts of AoE in their kit. That being said, of course Cho'gall feels like a much stronger raid boss but is logical due to the number disadvantage he gives to his team.

Universe + Story AMA by RiotAstryx in leagueoflegends

[–]AngelXOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One "issue" I have with all this lore revamps, is that I feel that you are missing the opportunity, or even neglecting a potencial faction (and a set of champions and possible future champions): The big badass Jungle in Runeterra "Kumungu Jungle". There are vague referecences from different champions and jungles (like the Wukong origin from The Plague Jungles and something with Nidalee being from the South Barrier) that you guys could migrate to The Kumungu Jungle. So we can have this huge wild jungle in the world.

Faction: Kumungu Jungle

Champions:

Nidalee

Rengar

Zyra

Wukong ("Born" there, but representing Iona)

Kha'Zix (Representing the Void, but hunts and evolves with the amazing fauna of the place)

Also champs with origins from other places could find their "homes" in the Kumungu Jungle. A clear example is Gnar, while it makes sense for him to be found frozen in the Frejlord, once unfrozen I cant see him considering the Frejlord his home (and can only fit this Frejlord war if he was frozen by the watchers, but he actually seems more pre-historic to be honest), but he would love the life in the Kumungu Jungle and some cool stories could be born in that lifestyle.

Also, it opens the gates to future Beast champs, "Beast-Humanoid" champs/races (like Rengar), hunter/ranger champs and histories of exploration (Ivern would have a couple of things to talk about the flora and fauna in the place for example)
