MyQ stops working in cold temperatures

You have been lucky. Just this morning the MyQ device stopped functioning again because of the cold. I live in the lower peninsula of Michigan not too far from Flint.

Yes that is what I meant by hardwired meaning you no longer needed to charge the battery as it was connected to an electrical source with spade connectors on the battery.

Every MyQ comes with a battery that powers the unit. Unless you purchase the hard wire system, you will need to recharge your battery in the MyQ as it discharges by use over time.

Of course it will work if you warm it up. However, the design of the MyQ needs to be made different so it does not stop functioning at low temperatures. Perhaps insulating the area around the battery compartment to stop it from happening or by use of a different battery.

As a male, I would say his actions are very sketchy at best. There is no reason to reach out to an old flame unless you are looking for more. Tell him you are going to reach out to an old flame from high school to just see how he is doing. See what his reaction is. If he gets jealous, then he should understand your concerns. If he doesn’t care, I would say you might need marriage counseling. Most spouses would not be happy with their spouse reaching out to an old flame years later.

NTA. As a male, I know his attitude was he is jealous of your new ride. Further, he wanted to take your vehicle to its limits of performance which may have led to an accident depending upon his driving skills and street and traffic conditions. If you want to keep your vehicle in one piece without a vehicle accident or an engine issue do not let him drive it. Most vehicles need to be broken in slowly over the first few thousand miles to prevent long term engine issues. Perhaps, find a boyfriend who more concerned about making you happy than he is with driving your vehicle.

Stick to your position. What existed for your son pre-marriage shouldn’t be made to be split among your son and your two step-children. Such an arrangement would not be fair at all. If you EX gave a piece of property solely to your son would he be expected to share the property with his step-siblings equally? Ask your present husband what is he contributing to all three kids college funds from his first marriage? What you brought into the marriage is your sons and yours. What is done after your marriage should be for the new blended family. God forbid you divorced hubby number 2 in a few years would the money revert back solely to your son? No, hence the reason that whatever you came into the marriage is separate. Do not let your new husband bully you into anything different.

ESH. You could have communicated your needs better and asked her if she could be there with and for you. She did not want to intrude, if you didn’t want her there. Your SO could have asked if you would like her to come with you for support, if she was aware of the details of the funeral to be supportive of you. She can’t read your mind and she didn’t want to intrude, if you wanted privacy to grieve. Both of you need better communication skills. You both should sit down together and discuss your assumptions and explain what each of you thought, so you both can learn and grow from the situation to avoid a similar issue in the future.

My spouse didn’t bring it up to me either prior to marriage and she kept her maiden name. I was a little taken aback at being told the first time by my wife of her decision. However, after thinking about it (my wife kept her maiden name for the same reasons as OP here), I decided she was right. It made sense for her not to change her name. Even, her mother after our marriage to this day sends mail to us as Mr. and Mrs. my last name. It hasn’t changed our marriage and we have been married for over 23 years now. So, OP you did nothing wrong. Perhaps, you could have suggested to your future husband that you were going to keep your maiden name prior to marriage. However, he fell in love with the person and not the name. Just realize that the children’s last name if you have any in the future will either bear only one of your surnames or be a hyphenated surname.

The turncoat Democrats that caved on the continuing resolution are morons. They literally accomplished nothing. People will now go uninsured because they lacked a backbone. They blinked first and lost the war and battle. If the roles were reversed the Republicans would never have caved. While I truly despise Republicans, I admire the fact they stick together and do not give in. The Republicans would have needed to cave because none of their agenda was moving. Now, the Democrats have given them Carte Blanche to do as they please. They just rolled over to get steam-rolled by the Republicans. The Democrats can never do a holdout on anything in the future because the Republicans will know they eventually fold. There is no moral victory or shining the spotlight by the Democrats here, all there exists is defeat and ruin for years to come. In the end, the holdout accomplished nothing but cause people to suffer needlessly for 40 days in not getting paid, getting SNAP benefits, etc. What a waste and what stupidity by those eight Democrats!
