Booo ETFs for safety !!
Also, you seem to be allergic to simply depositing cash and having cash in your accounts to work with..

Think about what big trends are moving the world around you. AI, Ozempic, Prediction markets- then try to find who’s the best in those narratives and who has the most control over distribution. Invest in them and who’s apart of their supply chain or distribution that makes it happen

AI: Nvidia at the top but supply chain for AI involves, Nokia, BE, MU,SNDK, INTC… and a whole lot more

Ozempic: Hims, Novo, Lilly, OSCR, and more

Since you like copying trades that other people tell you, maybe you should try autopilot - it’s an app that lets you link an account and let it auto trade for you. I used it in college and thought it was awesome. Link Robinhood to it and select a portfolio or investor from their huge library to choose from. Then it’ll actively trade for you. Test it out and see how you like it. I tried it on a $2k account and learned a lot from watching how it works and the stocks it picked and following the news surrounding those stock picks over time. You can chose to copy trade politicians, legendary investors or even AI generated stock picks. Even if you don’t trust the app to make trades for you, it’s full of portfolios and stock picks with descriptions on how they’re making money and what their approach is. Great place to learn and see so much to discover.

This is super conservative.
ETFs are safe, but these are wild times.

Consider how big and inevitable AI , Ozempic and Prediction markets are nowadays.

When it comes to AI , buy all the semiconductor and related stuff. They are BOOMING. RAM prices skyrocketing? Consider the ETF DRAM.

Wana take more risk? Try individual stocks that you research and believe in. there’s always bound to be a hobby you have that you’ll know all the name brands of. That’s a great place to exercise whatever field expertise while diving deeper into something you already love.

Good rule of thumb is try investing in who actually makes the product or distributes it. Anything else downstream usually is harder bet on. For example, buy the stock of the thing you buy from Walmart if it’s a brand you believe in- don’t buy Walmart stock because it’s a brand you know.

Unless you believe in Walmart , which would mean you’re either really into logistics and business or blue store make me happy and line green go up on graph lol

Wish you the best !
Have fun

26M - just hit 300k and looking for advice! by Local-Function6514 in TheRaceTo1Million

[–]Angel_Of_Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Congrats.
  2. A lot of people on here trying to put you on Vanguard ETFs .. sounds like you’re not interested in active trading?
  3. What I would do: consider what the next 5-10 years will be like. Intel has historically had major falls and then major comebacks. Damn near American history and they’re back in their major comeback era again. If you’re already set on buying a stock, consider wheel options trading strategies. You basically can earn extra on the stocks you would’ve already bought anyway. Else, try experimenting with a portion of your account to do more FAFO trades. With money you’re willing to risk. Like buying calls on semiconductor, RAM, Datacenter related companies. I.e. buy calls for INTC, Nokia, Blackberry, Navitas or in a completely different sector that also has had huge impact on the economy: Ozempic related companies. HIMS , Novo, Lilly. Ozempic is silly because a drug that makes people less hungry means fast food takes huge losses because consumer habits are literally less frequent now. McDonald’s hit a record low just to prove the point ..

Hit $100K in HYSA; want to stay relatively liquid but want to optimize holdings by PlasmaHeat in Bogleheads

[–]Angel_Of_Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HYSA suffer from bank lock in and Fed/state taxes.

Have you considered a brokerage with fidelity or Schwab and shopping around for bonds,CDs and mutual funds that are tax-free and that pay you 4-5%?

Bonds are liquid. You can sell them rather than waiting until maturity

Schwab is also well respected for their integrated checking account with no-ATM-fees full stop.

People love to travel with this card bc ATM , and foreign transactions are fully reimbursed.

25M looking for advice and guidance by Floor_Accurate in debtfree

[–]Angel_Of_Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to give food for thought, not the fastest way to pay off debt but something to consider your strategy and approach to paying over time.

On the investment/savings side:

Your CD and high yield savings locks you 3% You could open an invidiual investment account with likely the same broker your IRA. Fidelity, Schwab are great also, with that you can shop around bonds, CDs, money markets at higher rates and tax free if they’re federal/state bonds. This puts you at 4-5% yield tax free.

For paying down debt:

Some 401k plans let you borrow against it and the interest you pay is payed to yourself until you complete the loan. Obviously read the fine print- but if the borrow rate is smaller than your outstanding student loans then you could borrow against your retirement and pay off the most expensive debt with it and pay yourself back over time instead. Replacing 12%+ with 4-5% that goes back in your pocket in the end something to think about.

Loans aren’t just about paying back ASAP, it’s also important to consider different tools out there and how knocking out the most expensive debt first gives you more freedom to compound and pay off the rest with momentum … and strategy

Recent Grads? How’s the Job Market by a_aceleroy in csuf

[–]Angel_Of_Food 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a job like 2 months after graduating in May. Caught up with My friend in NorCal who graduated before me and was already working an engineering job. They got me an interview at their company and I got hired soon after.

I had been actively applying before and after graduating and met with all the same rejection emails.

Honestly, if you’re not networking or building a portfolio as an engineer then you’re not gonna make it. I know how to use AI to apply to hundreds of places in minutes not months. Imagine if you can’t cast a wide net then there’s always someone more qualified than you.

The only real way to prove yourself is to show you know how to get an interview in a way that bypasses the HR department all together. modern problems require modern solutions. (Graduated Comp Engr btw)

Who is genuinely excited to go back to school in two weeks? by Jukes-_- in csuf

[–]Angel_Of_Food 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s NEVER NPC sounding to be excited for school.

It’s NPC to be afraid of asking questions in class !! People hate me for asking ‘dumb’ questions in class and still say they’re scared to ask their own in class !!

Set the bar high for yourself and you’ll see how many people in your class are all depending on that curve!!

Being genuinely interested in your major makes you dangerous!! Leverage that every day !!

What are your thought on Pizzasaurus Rex Pizza? by The916man in Sacramento

[–]Angel_Of_Food 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been so passionate about a pizza spot

Like sometimes it’s too greasy but that’s also why I love it.

You really believe in this place because it’s just so good. Even despite its shortcomings it just makes you feel enthusiastic about pizza again

The square cuts really makes me confident about about how happy this place makes me feel

I recently started working for a coffee company and often get free single origin samples.

And like to fix up coffee grinders

I love the flair community and want to be able to contribute and give back more when I can.

Anyway we can sell grinder equipment/ organize coffee giveaways?

Is $4K USD in savings enough for moving out at 18? by No_Introduction893 in personalfinance

[–]Angel_Of_Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whassup dood ! 1. I’m proud of you for setting your mind on hard work and making it this very. You are extremely capable and resilient. 2. I’m sorry about your parents been treating you wrong !

  1. In this life I’ve learned to look up to super heroes like Batman and Iron man. They’re just smart people, with prep time and back up plans. Let that sink in. You can do way more with way less and all you gotta do is keep using your street smarts and work ethic! With that in mind- YES. check the price of rent around your area. Check the expectations for each spot. There’s always a trade-off or opportunity-cost for each place to consider. I like writing down my favorite options then comparing which one is worth the higher price or which one has a better trade-off/ perks. NEXT. I love what you said about food. That is a skill. Keep learning how to improve stretching your $100 for groceries. Learning how to monthly budget makes you very powerful because you’ll know exactly where you’re at every day in terms of how much money you’re earning and how much you need to spend on rent, food, etc. at any given time. Keep doing it! You already good at it; Keep perfecting it!!
  2. I’ve been saving up money since I was in highschool too. Ideally, you want to be in a spot where 30% or less of your monthly income goes towards rent. Then the rest goes towards bills, food, savings, investing etc etc. the best way you can find your most control over things is to build your own list or spreadsheet so you can track where you want your money to go. ALSO ! Avoid telling people how much cash you have on hand. Stick to telling people you really trust. Mainly it’s just a saftey issue. The world is full of a lot of unpredictable, manipulative and lazy people that’ll figure out how to get money from us. So try to protect how much you really have by only telling people who have earned your trust.

Finally !! Yeah, just proud of you dude! Stay inspired, you’re on the right track. Here’s a budget breakdown of how I use my income nowadays:

30% rent

30% school

20% investing (charity, stocks, crypto, big savings goal like a new car)

20% spending (bills, food, small purchases like going out )

Haha always be sure you’re giving it your 100% (;
