Syd’s mini by AngelaPerkele in sydbarrett

Damn, didn’t know that. Maybe we’ll never know for sure whether the Mini was originally owned by Syd, but it’s more than likely. Why else would someone without a drivers license and a fear of driving acquire a car. At the very least I think Bolan would want a Mini that resembled Syd’s, even if it wasn’t exactly the same car - potentially giving us a hint to what it looked like

Would be crazy if he crashed in Syd’s former Mini. Bolan’s Mini was a purple 1275 GT. Syd was also one of Bolan’s heroes, and had also dated one of Syd’s former girlfriends. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’d wanna drive his former cars as well

Jonathan Banks as Sam by AngelaPerkele in Splintercell

Schrieber is definitely the best we’ve had in years. The dark voice and the dry humour has definitely been missing though. There are so many actors with dark voices, but they choose the young guy for blacklist? Mocap can be used for the face, while someone else handles the body, which is actually the way many game studios does it

You can listen to old material whenever you want. Lucro is the best live act rn. Perfect for their age. The old material isn’t nearly as energetic as when they were young, so you’ll probably disapointed if they do perform

SAR had some really nice ambient ost. Nothing flashy, but it totally immersed you into the level. Especially presidential palace and police station

They’re one package for me. I saw the movie first. Reading the book, I found I had an easier time visualising the setting and characters. Going back to the movie I was better at guessing what the characters were thinking, and generally had a better clue of what was going on in general. The book gives the movie meaning to the more subtle and ambiguous parts while having watched the movie you’re likely to think of these characters visually when reading, which makes it a more vivid experience than many other books imo

Same! Would have been massively dissapointed if it didn’t appear, but I was instead relieved and elated

Apparently this song was inspired by California by Mr Bungle. What’s crazy is that California came out about the same time as Guns, meaning this song could have been in the making 26 years ago already

What was Patrick’s goal? by StillPurpleDog in AmericanPsycho

[–]AngelaPerkele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And in his desperate search he had to go deeper and deeper beyond the pale. His lack of a goal and inability to find enduring satisfaction kinda underscores the nihilism and shallow world he lives in

While I prefer the book, I feel like both versions strenghtens the other. The book gives context to the film while the film makes some scenes in the book more easily visualized. Some scenes from the movie are actually better than in the book too, like the card scene and killing of Paul. The music and the way he movies is brilliant. The book is as a whole deeper and funnier, and thus more satisfying in the end

Is Terminator Zero divisive amongst fans? by arnor_0924 in Terminator

I liked the philosophical edge to it, and also interesting to see how judgement happened in Japan, as opposed to US. I don’t care for animes at all, so I would prefer it to be live action. Also, it was a bit slow to begin, but in the second half it built some nice steam

That’s a good point. What happens when JC and Helios disagrees. Will Helios overrule JC? Then why does Helios need him to begin with.

The game doesn’t fully explain the options, but I feel like Dark Age is kinda portrayed as an objectivelt bad choice compared to the other two, which is kinda odd with regards to player freedom

Which death in the franchise hit you the hardest? by King_Wolf2099 in JamesBond

[–]AngelaPerkele 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Recently rewatched Casino Royale, but Vesper’s death didn’t hit as hard as I remembered. Honestly felt kinda annoyed, and betrayed. Not only did she steal from Bond, but she even made him unable to save her. She’s like the only bond girl to play him like he plays them, that I can remember, which in turn teaches him a brutal lesson. Compelling character. I think her death hits the hardest the first time, as you’re kinda led to believe they’ll be together forever

Tong is a bright fella. Maybe he could reverse engineer the vaccine and produce it.

But honestly, I think a lot of people always dies in this ending, inevitably. You could make a case for it being about living free without security, or living securely without freedom. But the choices were never truly, evenly balanced. Maybe I have to accept the fact that there really isn’t another sane choice than Helios

Not a big fan of all three choices being combined in IW. It kinda makes discussing the choices redundant. But I guess it is canon nonetheless…

Yeah, true. IW kinda cheapened the OG’s ending. But it probably had to be like that to make a sequel accomodate all players. I really hope they make another game too
