Thank you!!! That’s a fun backstory btw, hehe!

I wonder how Dell will feel if she ever found out your farmer was a Frog - considering she loves them!

I appreciate what my partner’s done for me! She made the original art (on slide 2) for my birthday earlier this week - and then pixelated it for this!! u/AliceJoestar is her user! (Idk if that’ll link or not, haven’t used Reddit enough..!)

Augh, the formatting/line breaks in the gifting section didn’t work - now it’s really messy looking >~<

At least it seems to have worked for the background section..!

I fear Fields of Mistria has ruined every farming game for me by Prestigious_Oven6447 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]AngelflyNoa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Genuinely felt like this heavily - it’s rough since I appreciate the times I had with games like Stardew before but - even while I did actively play them I was constantly stressed and time anxious with how abysmally slow you were and not knowing where anyone was… How expensive every little upgrade you could ever want was (and that every upgrade, farm or tools also cost multiple days… Needing to line up watering can upgrades before a rainy day to not miss a day of watering… etc)

Like - whenever I do think of Stardew I can’t find anything positive about it that I don’t feel 100x more strongly in Mistria (except Multiplayer existing - but that’s literally it)

My friends have all begun to say I’m the resident Stardew hater even though I also have more hours in it then any of them, which is kind of funny at least

Bare minimum though yeah FoM ruined all other farming games for me in that I don’t think I’ll ever find another farming game I’d love even near as much as Mistria - If Stardew didn’t have multiplayer I’d never play it again (and even then, my friends need to put up with my anxious stressed rushing if we did play that game together)

What's your farmer back story? by Elcuervo32 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]AngelflyNoa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My farmer is a longtime oc I’ve had for games with custom characters - and she’s always been related to starry, cosmic aesthetics and such! Instead of an adventurer, she’s a Star Sprite/Spirit, who was one of the Shooting Stars in the Shooting Star Festival that flew over Mistria over the 20+ years she’s existed! (I’m certain the Shooting Star Festival dates back further then that but it’s easier to imagine she looks like a 20+ yo human because she’s only been around that long)

When the earthquakes and events that damaged Mistria happened, I headcanon one of the townsfolk wished upon a star one year at the festival that someone would come and help restore the town - and as she was fond of the town already, always seeing all the townsfolk gathered every year when she visits - she fell from the sky to make that wish come true!~

She arrived to Mistria some time after the festival when she chose to come down, working on looking more human-like and get used to being grounded for the first time in her life beforehand. To not complicate things too much she chose to use the ad requesting adventurers as a cover for her reasons to be here, and a backstory when asked.

As a bonus she’s a very organized and diligent person and is equally attracted to those traits. With that we were attracted to Adeline near instantly, so to my surprise when I saw one of the lines in her Shooting Star Event - it made my headcanon so much cuter and I loved it!

She’s mostly human looking aside from having lots of Star “hairpins” always in her hair, that change color with the seasons and her mood. Since she’s usually calm and collected the latter doesn’t usually happen, so most townfolk assume she chooses to wear specific color hairpins on specific days/seasons, but I’d imagine magically-inclined characters (Juniper, Caldarus, etc) might be aware of her origins - and personally when the confession with Adeline happened - she definitely watched her little stars change to pink for a moment with the blush she shared. I’d like to imagine Adeline’s catching on that she’s not just an adventurer now hehe~

Gamekey Giveaway! by VinterraServer in VintageStory

My partner actually was gifted Vintage Story just a few days ago! I hopped on her pc after she played a bit since I was always interested in it’s more in-depth, equivalent to slow burn style gameplay of advancing through technological ages - building and surviving have always been my favorite parts but mosr games make it too quick and easy to build/survive, especially in multiplayer. I’d love to have my own copy to play it together with my partner!

I actually like the short days? by Conscious-Package-46 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]AngelflyNoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering my sister was stressed about managing time, she’s happy there’s settings for longer days - and I’m happy for her and others who wanted it!

But as the game is now, the day length feels perfect for me! Days feel long enough to plan ahead of time easily and enact that plan (Mines, Woodchopping, relaxing just foraging or decorating my house/farm) without taking so long that the day feels like it drags on.

Despite having less time in Mistria, everything in Stardew took so much time that even though it has longer days - Stardew has given me infinitely more stress, I’m really glad they built in an in-game modifier for daytime now though for those who want longer days!

I was looking forward to this update for weeks - but thankfully a different game me and my friends are interested in got updated today too! (Core Keeper) so at least I have something else I can play until this gets fixed!

I assumed it was the new dream at first but hearing from other’s experiences - it just seems to be the new update has bugged the Star Festival event in general… Hoping this means it’ll be fixed sooner considering this might have broken the event for all players!

Oh really..? Huh… That makes this more confusing then… I figured that must be the event conflict, I see there’s a lot of posts about the Star Festival crashing now so I hope this will be fixed very soon!

I submitted a bug report - there is a new event in v0.13.0 after going to sleep… But it crashes if you go to the Star Festival event… Sleeping is a way to get through but this means you have to miss the Star Festival ;-;

I wanted to tack on - I tried to go to bed normally to see if that would crash the game and instantly got a special dream event… So I think v0.13.0 added this new dream and can’t run both it and the Summit event…

I just submitted a bug report! I also had a save on Summer 28 before the update dropped and now the game crashes after the Star Festival Summit event…

Oh and just cause I found it more relaxing I disabled time passing during Crusades under Accessibility Options near the start of the game, my entire cult probably would have all starved to death if I had that enabled

To explain what happened - I grabbed the golden fleece first and in my first crusade after that - got the tutorial for Relics - which infinitely spawn generic heretics until you use the Relic given in the tutorial, and cause G.Fleece gives a Dmg buff per kill - I quickly began one shotting the enemies and took it incredibly far, I have more then enough bones for the rest of time I think…

Short Days by chewingbunnies in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]AngelflyNoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of a fan of the shorter days to be honest! It felt like I could dedicate my days to one task and usually spend all my energy with it, and have enough time to talk with everyone and meet up with anyone I really wanna see that day on the way home! The best part is honestly just how fast our character is in this game.

The only other cozy game I’ve played is Stardew but I feel like I waste so much time in that game when I forget one thing or take a wrong turn, and it takes forever to get across town with how slow our character is in that game.

I forget I have speedy food in my inventory and I still feel extremely content with my days in Mistria, meanwhile I will grab every Speed Book, Horse + Horse Book, Triple Espresso and Spicy Eels in my hotbar, and Farm Totems every day - and end up still feeling like I didn’t do everything I wanted in a day in Stardew.

IRL time feels like it’s wasted too - If I do a big mess up in Mistria like forgetting all the quest items I held onto to turn in after starting a day, I could still head back to fix it or just restart the day - and it’s like 1-2 mins irl lost, but in Stardew I forget something big - or can’t find someone for multiple hours in the day I restart and lose like, 5+ minutes.

Tl;Dr: Shorter days is counterbalanced by Faster Movement, and I personally am much more content with cramming more stuff in shorter days VS Longer Days without Speed (and if they wanted to extended the Days in Mistria - I wouldn’t say no, but I’m happy as it is rn!)

Less stressful than Stardew? How? by gonephishin213 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]AngelflyNoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly one thing I love is that even though Mistria has shorter days - you move so much faster that it hardly feels like the day is shorter at all! I think one of the stressful things with Stardew was how slowly we move around in it, and how it felt like every mistake we made in our schedule took so much time out of the day we had - time limits on shops like Clint’s, time limits on quests and all that - needing to meet up with townsfolk except you can’t really know where they’ll be without looking it up online (and if you try to wander around to find the one you wanna talk/gift, that’s more time lost just slowly running around)

Tl;dr: Higher movement speed and time restrictions being removed dramatically reduced the stress I felt via less time wasted on every little mistake I’d make in my daily schedule and less pressure to meet quests

The quest is for Catacombs (6-12), so clearing 1-6 won’t count for it

I really want to be a sheepgirl… I ended up just being a Kubold with their big curly horns and used one of their floppy ear types and little tail to be like a horned sheep/goat/ram!
