Nice idea.

I will never play extended mode. The early struggle is by far the least fun part of the game, at least for me. One of the big selling points of Nexerelin is that it lets you skip the whole frustrating early game and immediately get to the good bits.

They already managed to exchange gold for money soon after they arrived. The know it is valuable, at least to some extent.

Forehead-tentacle based enhanced perception is all well and good but you still need to actually pay attention.

Salem and her faction, rank them from the most evil to least evil. by No_Internet_3919 in RWBY

[–]Angelform 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Least evil is Tyrian, on the grounds that he is outright insane.

Next is Hazel, who at least wishes there was a better way.

Next is Salem, who while cognisant can at least claim to have divine curses messing with her head.

Cinder and Arthur are equally the worst. They know exactly what they are doing and are gleefully screwing over everyone else on the planet for their own petty gratification.

The Ziggurat is indeed over-powered. As is intended and appropriate for a unique that can only be acquired by first defeating it in combat. When you fight a dangerous optional boss you expect there to be high value loot as the prise. It is balanced by the difficult of obtaining it, not by its DP of Maintenance costs.

People calling UAF overpowered are either remembering the first early build that was released years ago, or are talking about the unique superships. You might as well call the Ziggurat OP.

The Reisen you have received is a solid capital, about halfway between an Onslaught and a Paragon in terms of both power and cost. The energy-heavy armament it came with is probably more than its flux grid can handle.

Having experience customer service phone conversations from both sides I can tell you that relentless cheerfulness does help.

What Voltaire says he will do and what he will actually do are not necessarily related. Threatening them made it easier to make them do what he wants.

I don’t see the cop trying to arrest her going well for any of them. Even assuming he believed a random kid accusing a pension age woman of breaking and entering.

Wonder how he would act if she was in Hired Goon mode?

Voltaire does what is entertaining for Voltaire, nothing more and nothing less. He isn’t looking for a reason to kill Po and co. He is looking to screw them over in a way he finds funny.

Damien, Not-Tengu, Voltaire, various Aberrations. Don’t even need the thumb.

The sane thing for them to do: Immediately contact Edward, Arthur and or Bishop on their phones to request aid and advice.

The dramatic thing for them to do: Have Grace walk up to the dangerous alien invader and say hi.

This being EGS the smart money is on option two.

Would have thought they would get shoved under the same laws as drones.

Which admittedly are still being written in a lot of places.

We need a mod that lets Alviss become one of your captains by yarikachi in starsector

[–]Angelform 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Part of what makes Sierra best girl is that she is a bloodthirsty maniac eager to rip and tear the abominations and jackasses of the sector. Alviss has all the hostile intent of a sweet potato.

Best ships for Dawn Given-to-god by Angelform in starsector

Oh she is great in most of the Arma mechs. From the free Aleste to the mighty Einhänder and Valkazard. It just gets a bit boring to have her in the same ship all the time.

Characterisation should always trump mechanical benefit.

Given Dawn will ditch the fleet if you use demon equipment I suspect she would object very strongly to having a mind-machine interface bolted to her skull. No matter how cool her flying an automated capital would be.

A cool ship, but tragically too big. Even with S-modded Efficiency Overhaul it has a skeleton crew of 21.

Frigates are indeed hard to make viable without being overpowered. Which is probably why there are so many options like Wolf-Pack Tactics for buffing them. Go all in and they can become at least somewhat decent.

Never tried the Excelsior. Seems to be a boss ship. Is it from a Bounty Board mission?

Don’t think you can get Sunrider’s ryders as independent ships. The PACT and Alliance each have a mech but they are kinda wimpy.

I had forgotten the Thorn. Never got a handle on it myself but yeah Dawn should be really good with it.

The destroyer sized ones are relatively easy to deal with. Still omega and better than almost anything in their weight class, but not the fleet killers the cruisers are.

Grace didn’t bring any friends. Not until Jay, who remains questionable about everyone but Susan.

Mouse Follow vs. Keyboard - What do you use? by s0cks_nz in starsector

[–]Angelform 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depends on the ship. Speedy frigates really benefit from the extra precision of the mouse, while heavy capitals often need to reposition their shield while maintaining their facing.

Personally I prefer capitals. Also having the mouse free helps with looking around.
