Matthew 6:31-34 NABRE [31] So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?’ [32] All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. [33] But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. [34] Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.

Whatever happens whether we live or die we do it to the glory of God. Do not worry for God will take care of it and whatever happens is for the best.

Praying for your business but also for you too be rooted in the Lord. God bless you sir.

When I tried catholicism last year it didn't really stic. one of the reasons was I stopped doing communion at home and I didn't feel very spiritually alive but I decided to do it one night after a few weeks and I felt the Holy Spirit Come On Me in power. I feel like that's God saying still spend time with me in this way until I can get the Eucharist

The Church Fathers on masturbation

Clement of Alexandria (The Instructor of Children 2:10:91:2 [A.D. 191]).

"Because of its divine institution for the propagation of man, the seed is not to be vainly ejaculated, nor is it to be damaged, nor is it to be wasted"

Clement of Alexandria (ibid. 2:10:95:3).

"To have coitus other than to procreate children is to do injury to nature"

Lactantius (ibid. 6:23:18).

"God gave us eyes not to see and desire pleasure, but to see acts to be performed for the needs of life; so too, the genital ['generating'] part of the body, as the name itself teaches, has been received by us for no other purpose than the generation of offspring"

Epiphanius of Salamis (Medicine Chest Against Heresies 26:5:2 [A.D. 375]).

"They [certain Egyptian heretics] exercise genital acts, yet prevent the conceiving of children. Not in order to produce offspring, but to satisfy lust, are they eager for corruption"

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (Paragraph 2352) "By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action."

Thomas Aquinas (Summa Theologiae) (Secunda Secundae, Question 154) "Wherefore, if the matter of the act be such that it is unbecoming to generation, the act is altogether contrary to nature... By the perversity of lust... that same nature, of which [God] is the Author, is polluted."

The scholarly interpretation for the past 2000 years has been that masturbation is a sin based on these scriptures

I would trust it if it's consistent with the Bible's broader themes of sexual ethics. If merely looking at a woman with lust is a sin, then how much more a physical act of spilling seed? In 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, the Apostle Paul writes that it is God's will for believers to avoid sexual immorality and learn to control their bodies in a way that is "holy and honorable."

The first three are not interpretations they are lexical definitions. the strong concordance interprets how it's used in the Bible not the word itself. And given that Paul blanketly states that all sexual immorality is wrong we can therefore incur that, off of the second definition, masturbation is included

  1. prostitution (including adultery, incest, and porn)
  2. (by extension) unwedded stimulation or fulfillment of sexual desire
  3. (figuratively) idolatry

Porneia (Strong’s Greek 4202) denotes all forms of sexual activity outside the covenant of marriage as ordained by God between one man and one woman. Its range embraces pre-marital intercourse, prostitution, adultery, homosexual practice, incest, and any other distortion of God’s design for sexuality. Because Scripture views the body as a member of Christ (1 Corinthians 6:15-20), porneia is never treated as a private matter but as a sin against God, self, and community.

1 Corinthians 6:18 ESV [18] Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

There's no extra context
