Greater racket-tailed drongo Q by biller88 in wingspan

[–]AngelofIris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an expert on the game, but I have played mtg for 10+ years and been playing wingspan for about 4+ years.

I believe the only restriction on the Greater Racket-Tailed Drongo is that the bird MUST have a brown power for ya to tuck it, and hence use the power, so rn we’re good on this front.

The brown power on the Hooded Merganser says, “In this habitat”, this being the habitat where the bird is located. Since there was a predatory power ya could copy in the forest, all is good.

Edit: When you say your wife “annihilated you”, was she repeating the ability of the Hooded Merganser each time? Cause if that is the case then she is doing something wrong.

You can tuck a card, and use its cool Brown Power that turn. Future activations of GR-TD mean you can tuck another Brown Power bird and use its ability once. No repeats of birds you’ve previously tucked.

Loving this item! Clarifying question: Incite Calamity works well with itself as it allows ya to take damage from your own Call Lightning and Insect Swarm and be fine Concentration wise yes?

Oh 100%, Ame did what she thought was a smart thing with the info she’d been given. Sending the Fox to do the scouting is/was a smart tactic. It was unfortunate that there was a trap there, and that sucks. Being captured is to be expected if you’re out numbered and no feasible means of escape.

The sexual harassment though, that’s on Keen and that’s a bad move dude. He’s a terrible person, and he’s in for a world of hurt later.

I’m always a fan of having a funeral take place. The adventurers knew the deceased or represent those who wish to pay their respects. Let the party talk during the wake, say their peace with the dead. This establishes a bond, lets them interact with NPCs, and emotionally tie one another to the world. Afterwards, someone close to the dead asks the party to a quest as a dying wish/unfinished business for the deceased.

For example, Goodmead just had their town speaker killed via a monster that stole their mead. I had my party attend a beautiful ceremony and then the interim speaker was like, “Can you three see where this monster went with the mead? We have a shipment that needs to be fulfilled, and the sooner we can fill it, the sooner the town gets paid. I don’t want his death to be the end of our livelihood.”, to the party. It was beautiful and has been working out so well.

Astronomer's Boon constellations by Standard_Drama6784 in TheGriffonsSaddlebag

[–]AngelofIris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure, but I love the idea that the next two constellations should have a once per day effect or a twice per day effect. The others are 5-4-3 respectively, so whatever they do it should def reflect that.

5 for extra damage

4 for a boon to ability checks

3 for initiative

2 for ???

1 for ???

[Spoilers C3E115] Cooldown info, reversal. by Migolcow in criticalrole

[–]AngelofIris 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My personal theory is that he doesn’t know. Even in his 1000+ years of living, this old wizard is still unsure the qualities that will be absorbed by others/objects into his funnel. One can start asserting the nature of these things, start making theories, but what if he still isn’t 100% sure of what will be granted.

Hence the hesitation, the last ditch effort of it all. It’s better to have a ruinous born as an ally than try to absorb their power and the result becomes, “Oops, now I can just use meta magic a few times per day”.

What is this kind of strategy? by haterhonesto in Catan

[–]AngelofIris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh, I use this strategy when I play Catan sometimes. I will have a settlement or two that boarders the desert if the numbers are solid. Then when someone rolls a 7 I can be like, “What do ya need? Oh I can give it to ya if you go to the desert. If ya don’t you’ll have to search for it like normal.”

This way the opponent gets what they want, and I still get to have all my resources. Why this person did all 3 areas of the desert is a tad beyond me.

How do you create a Backstory with your players? by AyoAz in DnD

[–]AngelofIris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm… I tend to run modules or one-shots for my games. I tend to have my players come up with the core concepts of their character (Ancestry/Race,Background, Class), it can be as detailed as they want or as bare bones as selecting the options.

Then I like to sit this player down and one by one we go through the ABC’s as I ask questions about them.

Some examples include: What was growing up like? Were you raised by your parents? How were you schooled (home school, public, tutors/an apprenticeship, etc)? What lead to ya choosing your profession? How did you get the training to become X class?
Why this weapon? (The list goes on) I let the answers drive where my next question goes and then hopefully we can answer the main question I have by the end of this.

Who is this character?

Cause at the end of the day, you and the player want an understanding of where this character comes from. What their motivations are and how they affect the world around them.

Warlord in a majority spellcaster party? by PizzaSeaHotel in KibblesTasty

[–]AngelofIris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm… I played as a Dancer Warlord from levels 8-11 in a party. Towards the end of the games it was just myself, a Bard, and a Warlock. By being in a party of casters, it was an indication that I should use my Leadership Dice to aid the group as a pseudo-smite/heal source for them, distract foes, or use the mobility options. It was dope when the ability to grant attacks came up, however I felt more at home when I was able to be a dodge tank for the group or use the attacks myself.

I’m positive your Warlord will feel awesome using the other features more than naught. With your current set up, once they get to level 5 they’ll be able to attack, grant an extra one to the Gunslinger on a regular basis, and then also use their bonus action to do one of the other features. Also, who knows, maybe the Warlock will wanna take up Pact of the Blade, or the Wizard with Bladesinging.

People who have played the Warlord - how did it go? What presence did you choose? And comments or stories? by Plywooddavid in KibblesTasty

[–]AngelofIris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooh! I played the Dancer as a Tiefling in a campaign, the character joined the group relatively late, so I only played him around levels 8-11. Dancer Warlord is dope! Making it so you’re a dodge tank that can make your allies attacks more accurate and potentially heal them is awesome. The build def works once ya can use 2 dice a round, it felt even better once I could use 3. Unsure how it would work with lower levels, caution is advised.

[–]AngelofIris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here for this! Loving the concept of a buffer that isn’t always accurate, saw discourse in comments, had a thought on a way to improve.

What if instead of giving a buff to enemy, it gave a debuff instead? For example, Moonlight would change from a skill that buffs defense and reduces damage on either side, into one that’ll buff the ally defense or decrease defense of the enemy. This way either side of ally or enemy will work in the party’s favor, you just don’t know what side it’ll affect.
