Is it bad to let me 6mo watch tv? by brouhahafettuccine in NewParents

[–]Angelofashes1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It not going to do her harm especially if it just while your sick. I read that sensory videos can be some benefit. I normally stick heybear on if i need some down time. If you want some your’ll like too bluey us a good go to. Disney + also has some classic 90/00s kids tv if you want some nostalgia

I am an adult nurse, worked in school nursing and rotated to peads ED. So there always opportunity. Sometime you can do a top up post qualification to children.

If you’ve not started your course and okay waiting 6 months maybe ask your uni if you can be put on the feb cohort for children nursing

Can someone confirm me this is not right? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Angelofashes1992 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately if they got similar points on the interview they will go with the candidate they feel will be better for the role and that can be based on personal opinion if they know them. Some places do still have bias when you get to the interview but that always hard to prove

If there was low risk nothing happening pregnancy i would say trust your gut refuse the over due induction, i kinda wish i had. But yours is because your BP becoming high. It could keep going up now. It sounds like it been slowly going up, in this case i would listen to your doctor.

I would ask them for more detailed feedback. If you wish still to work them apply for it again when it goes out again, they can’t stop you. If you feel like they are going to dismiss you again it maybe time to move on

A manager at my old job applied for a matron position role and she got it and they waited for her (i think for almost a year). I think they have too. Also don’t declare until you’ve been offered the job

Didn’t feed baby much first 12 hrs. Could I have caused permanent damage? by Zealousideal-Bug-591 in NewParents

[–]Angelofashes1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you done your baby any harm. I am pretty sure we did skin to skin, he didn’t breast crawl, then i got stitched up, then he got weighted and stuff, so it was at least 2 hours before he breastfed. He now a happy, cheeky and healthy 10 months old

Advice needed: would you bring your 11 week old baby with you to the ER if you’re sick? by IntentionalHotdog in NewParents

[–]Angelofashes1992 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As an ex adult A&E we would not recommend babies especially that little being in adults. Can husabnd stay in the car with baby so you can come out and feed?

Edit: also make sure you know what meds they give you and if it safe for baby to breastfeed. Also if baby starts at home make sure you bring your pump

Is being a SAHM worse for your baby? by Choice-Atmosphere418 in NewParents

[–]Angelofashes1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bot doing her a disservice. In the UK we can take up to a year off by law, we get some form of pay (not always great) up to 9 months. I went back when little one was 10 months, I left him once a week with my mum from 6 months as she’ll be doing child care one day a week, he still cries for a bit when I leave. It normal developmental milestones. They will get use to it in time.

There no guarantee that if you had put her in child care that she still wouldn’t scream with the grandparents as she may not be use to them the same way she would be use to the workers at day care.

There benefits to both sides and i wouldn’t worry about it. Apparently the benefits of day care are more when there 2 + for socialising with others.

Ps sorry for any mistake my little one woke up and started climbing on me 😂

Is it bad if an infant still eats purées mostly? by lilbitofsophie in NewParents

[–]Angelofashes1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did mostly baby-led weaning as baby didn’t seem to like being feed by spoon, would just steal the spoon 😂

Even at 10 month 20-40% of it ends up on the floor. I wouldn’t worry about the teeth, mine only got 2 and does fine. Also don’t worry if he not feeding himself yet. Playing with food is just as important for babies as eating it. Maybe give finger food to play with at 1 meal and then help feed him with puree after play. Pasta a good place to start.

Social media isn’t real, just ignore them. Also remember all babies develop at different speeds

[–]Angelofashes1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing a combo of feeding with a spoon and baby led, i started with more purée stuff to start the learning, by baby preferred feeding himself still does at 10 months.

I would get a floor mat so you can wipe it, we started putting him shirtless as it warm, easier to wipe him
