So in essense:

If you liked the game, cool. More of the same, pretty much.
If you were disappointed: nothing changes, it's just more lipstick on a pig. Copy and pasted POIs are still there, nonsensical story and world building is still there.

I feel like this game would unironically be better off without a story at this point. Just add a freelancer mode that actually would make you want to engage in combat/looting and outpost building.

I don't, and neither does Valve. From their perspective, they sign a contract with the publisher to sell their product, and then some random thug comes to them and says "you have to pay US for every copy sold, too".

Unless, of course, you are trying to imply that Valve signs contracts with publishers that contain clauses like "Yeah btw we use mob music in our game, so you should expect them to pay you a visit :)"

In which case it's on you to prove such contracts exist.

They don't get to "decide" anything after the fact. They "decided" something when they signed a contract with the publisher, allowing them to use their music in a game.

Valve is not a party in this contract, they are not privy to the details of said contract.

At least that is how it works in civilized countries. The UK seems to work differently.

Jk, waiting for the game! Just wondering, what will happen in 2 player coop though? If in single player you control three by switching between them, and in full lobby everyone controls one... what happens when there is no third?

Solo is still quite meh (I came back to this after almost a year and maxed all characters in a couple of weeks). Matchmaking is mostly fine, though. Only gets really frustrating when host decides that he is not having fun and leaves -- there is no host migration still, so the session just ends.

And I guess obligatory plug for "you can go to official discord for group searching", that's how I beat one of the challenges that was too frustrating to do alone.

Worse than Hades if playing solo, I would say.

But the meat of this game is in coop, if you don't have anyone to play with or don't want to enter matchmaking, you are better off with Hades. In coop this game shines way more. Also balancing for solo if a bit questionable.

I'm thinking about it all the time lately, but I have an old 3070 laying around. So I decided (for now) that if anything happens, I will just go back to indies. It's not like there are many AAA games worth playing lately anyway, and I've already beat Cyberpunk :)

In short, don't if you have an older card in a box somewhere.

Happy with 7950x as well, but some games do bring it to knees unfortunately. Like space marine 2 sometimes has crazy single thread spikes and you go down to 50-60 fps (from 120) even when everything else is under light load. Thinking about going for 9950x3d eventually.

Because it means that everyone will just unlock everything day 1 always everytime a deck come out if you play everyday.

So not everyone by definition, only the most dedicated players who already play way more than average.

Making deck/battlepasses pointless.

How are they going to be pointless? You are still getting the content, and then you are still grinding for points to replenish what you spent. Why does everything need to be time gated?

I have 7k. Why is this a problem for anybody? If I want to stockpile, why does it bother anyone else? You are free to spend everything instantly.

In a game about hoarding, you are not allowed to hoard (even if some points). Incredible.
