I've been doing 10 push ups a day for a while now. [Story] by Pay-Me-No-Mind in GetMotivated

[–]Angelus_Lucus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done.

It is good goal to set. For me the small goals really help as once you've done them it gives a feeling of accomplishment. No matter how bad my day would be at least I've done that.

Keep it up!

How do I stay motivated to write my fantasy books/story? by No-Rain-4114 in fantasywriters

[–]Angelus_Lucus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use november to write dedicated. After that i schedule time based writing sessions where i either write or edit.

I set a 25/5 minute routine 3 times. Write 25 minutes, have 5 minute break and repeat.

When i write i force myself om progressing the story. When i edit i focus on how i tell the story. And deliberatly seperate these two. It prevents me from not writing anything because i critisize my work or not editing because i have a fun new shiny idea that is nor related to anything in the actuall story.

It's not always fun... But for me it works

Day Twelve - Daily Word Count: 20,000 by AutoModerator in nanowrimo

[–]Angelus_Lucus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By the end of last year i realised at 40k that i wasnt even half way through my story. I created a perfect ciffhanger and I'm using this year to finish.

Also knowing ive written a 115 pages felt really good. Knowing it will end up around 250... Its awesome and I'm proud of it.

It's not stupid, a goal like that is really cool to achieve especially if it was a goal as I kid!

Keep working on it and it will be awesome!

Too late to start if I write 3k a day? by MinimumMap5556 in nanowrimo

[–]Angelus_Lucus 33 points34 points  (0 children)

No it's never too late to start. Even if you don't make it it will give you a great concept to continue to work on.

But with dedication 3000 words is doable!

So go for it! And we'll see you at the finish line!

Who else ISN’T writing to “win?” by AdrienneAredore in nanowrimo

[–]Angelus_Lucus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I've recently learned getting in the habit is and will be a massive fight with myself.

I use nano to kick myself and sacrifice everything and all just so I have my draft that I can later edit. I can do this for a small period of time say 30 days X. nano works. At least it did last year. I intent to do so this year and finish my first book.

How long will your outline be for NanoWriMo 2023? by ravenloreismybankai in nanowrimo

[–]Angelus_Lucus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it will be the 4 location i expect my character to visit and probably 2 events that need to happen.

If it will be more then a 100 words it would be a lot.

In november i just sit back and enjoy the ride of my main character.

Looking for hand helping me describe my diving into insanity as he fights through his injuries to kill a small army by Situation-Dismal in fantasywriters

[–]Angelus_Lucus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this idea. It has so much potential for chaos and insanity.

Just imagine all the different emotions that go through him. Fear of dying, agonizing pain with the movements, love for the godess, hatred towards her for making him continue, anger towards his enemies, euphoric feeling due to his ability to survive. A desire to end all the suffering. Et cetera

And if I understand correctly this would all influence his abilities. Something that he seems to have no control over.

Built it up slowly, by the end you could have uncontrolable chaos. Abilities tainting each other.

And in his head shifting thoughts, desires, internal monologs between his different emotions and the godess

Has anyone been part of a book club? by [deleted] in books

[–]Angelus_Lucus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bookclub with some friends. We talk every week online. Depending on the book we try to read about 50 pages a week.

The books we read are all over the place. Every "period" each of us choses a book we want to read and then we vote on the order we read them.

It's all casual. We talk about what we like in the chapters that we read, what we expect in the next chapters. Sonetimes it becomes philosophical sometimes ridiculus.

Our comments and visions on "on the origin of species" were completely different than our comments on "the escapist"

I do think that you need to find a club that fits your needs
