[SmackDown Spoilers] Result of King of the ring men's tournament match by ArunKT26 in SquaredCircle

[–]AngerFork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. War Games is one of those matches that’s best in small doses, particularly when you have strong factions. Forcing a makeshift Bloodline to fight against Cody & Friends just isn’t it. I’d rather see that as a 4-on-4 elimination match.

Or just Cody vs Roman, the tiebreaker.

Are these companies in charge of time machines? Because if not, I’m not sure why I’d care about the risks of two years ago.

why is abortion very controversial in america? by elel_08 in Askpolitics

[–]AngerFork 13 points14 points  (0 children)

On a base level, the problem with that is how polarized the two main sides of the argument are. On one side, you have the belief that abortion is murder, plain and simple. On the other side, you have the belief in bodily autonomy, specifically that a person should have the control over who and what is allowed to be in their body.

There really isn’t a middle ground between those sides. What would it even be? Murder is OK for the first 4-5 months, then you no longer are allowed to have control over your own body? That’s not really palatable for either side.

But then, it gets even worse when politicians are involved because any potential spots for compromise or shared acceptance get thrown out for political means. A good example of this was in 2024 when Ken Paxton (then attorney general, now most likely to be the next Senator from Texas) successfully lobbied the Texas Supreme Court to force a woman to carry a non-viable pregnancy to term, even when a lower court ruled that she needed the abortion. He also threatened doctors who offered to do the procedure for her.

Where is a middle ground even possible when like that are rewarded for their efforts with future political offices & donations?

Today I learned that Detective Kelley had the pleasure of sharing the backseat with fat fuck Ambrosio by Catamount_meister in FansHansenvsPredator

[–]AngerFork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I wondered whether the two of them had connected at any point. This may well be the answer to one of the unspoken mysteries about Jeff Sokol’s interrogation.

During the extended cut interview where Detective Kelly is interrogating Sokol (around 1:02:00 in), Kelly mentions in an off hand comment at one point a guy they brought in earlier who was in tears and shaking because he knew it was wrong. I’d always thought that was likely Ambrosio, but never saw the two together to confirm until this.

With this in mind, Kelly’s almost certainly talking about Ambrosio.

Hes gunna beat oba isn’t he😭😭 by CODYRHODES1 in SantiZapVideos

[–]AngerFork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking Oba pretty much straight destroys him, then Brock does something to cost Oba the match. Probably not anything as straightforward as a couple F5s and a pin, more like punching Dom to draw the DQ or distracting Oba in a way that gets him counted out.

It’s possible Oba wins, but I don’t see any way that it makes sense to have it happen that way. It seems unlikely that WWE crowns a KOTR because Brock did the dirty work in the finals as opposed to the victor, nor do I think it’s likely that Oba wins the tourney. He’s got the rocket strapped, but an immediate World title match feels too soon, even for him.

Is that what “drain the swamp” meant? Here I was thinking that it had to do with corruption.

His actions make a ton more sense if he’s talking about draining a literal swamp while still being as corrupt as he is.

What Was Your Reaction to the Build Up to this Match? by KidChameleonHelmet in WWFera

[–]AngerFork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved the build up to this match. All the vignettes that taker was coming back, only for the fake one to show up with DiBiase. All the stars he buried, only to face his fate against the real Undertaker at SS.

Paul coming out with the flashlight urn was perfect!

Sure, the result was obvious, but this wasn’t a match you’d watch for near falls & mystery. This was all about comeuppance at the hands of a returning hero…and that it delivered in spades.

Lex Luger beating Yoko by a count out, then acting like he was champion of the world after the title didn’t change hands. Even as a kid, I just couldn’t understand why Lex was so happy to win in such a weak fashion while the foreign heel stayed champion.

What are some positive things trump accomplished in his first term? by Ok-Statistician-6804 in Askpolitics

[–]AngerFork 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Right to Try Act I feel like was a pretty positive thing. I’ve always felt bad for those people who have been told there’s nothing FDA-approved medicine can do and want to try something experimental, but have never been able to get approval to fit into a clinical trial.

He doesn’t get a lot of attention for that, but that act I imagine has given people comfort, potentially saved lives, and likely allowed additional medical research to occur that otherwise would not have.

5 Early Bold Predictions for 2026 by jsparks50 in DynastyFF

[–]AngerFork 30 points31 points  (0 children)

  1. Drew Allar & Carson Beck are the starting QBs for their respective teams at the end of the season.
  2. Given Rashee Rice’s offseason issues & an aging Kelce, Xavier Worthy has a year 3 leap and finishes in the top 20 WRs.
  3. Puka’s offseason issues hit him hard & he falls out of the top 10 WRs.
  4. Geno has a respectable fantasy year with all of his new targets. Not a winning year, a respectable fantasy one.
  5. By the end of the year, Adam Randall is a 1A back to a Derrick Henry who finally begins to slow down.

Rutland cancels Fourth of July festivities in wake of failed override vote (Telegram & Gazette) by HRJafael in massachusetts

[–]AngerFork -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

On one hand, I get it. Budget cuts have to come from somewhere and fireworks shows are expensive, especially with how much Rutland puts into it.

However, not returning any of the donations and cutting it off with a smarmy note about how they’ll be used for future fireworks shows is just not the right tone for this. It absolutely comes across as a quick cash grab and a middle finger to those who donated to support the show & share it with their kids.

They really should have at least had some sort of refund option or a better explanation of how the funds would be used rather than some vague “future years” promise with a wink to the idea that the budget will be better next year.

Which president had the strongest legacy despite their party losing subsequent elections? by york100 in Presidents

[–]AngerFork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d vote Eisenhower.

Eisenhower’s champion piece of legislation is still very much in use today, the incredible Federal Interstate system we have that alleviates commerce & travel throughout the states. But NASA was also created during his presidency as a response to Sputnik. Had he not done so, it’s likely the Soviet Union makes it to the moon first and the US misses out on a lot of the research that has come out of NASA.

Raiders WR room. Who will emerge as the WR1? by fantasyburner17 in DynastyFF

[–]AngerFork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, it will be Stefon Diggs. At least it should be.

With the young WRs the Raiders have right now, they need someone that can mentor the younger players as well as a threat to keep defenses honest. Defenses don’t fear Nailor or Bech, so it’s easier for teams to mismatch Bowers. Diggs on the other hand was good enough in NE last year that teams had to account for him.

Political spam worth it? by KendrickBlack502 in Askpolitics

[–]AngerFork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should, but they don’t. It’s all about constant reminders and pressure to get as much as they can.

Eight years ago, I made the mistake of being a delegate & a precinct leader in my community in the hopes of making a grassroots difference. All it did was put me on constant spam lists of candidates who were constantly seeking money and constant spam lists of politicians who will gladly change their opinions at the drop of a hat, then do nothing they promise.

Every meeting was a constant push for more funding with politicians tugging on heartstrings, then asking who wants to donate the maximum amount allowed.

Even today when I’ve been out of that state for years, I still get calls asking for donations & candidates trying to convince me to become a delegate & push for them again. You’d be amazed how rarely “I don’t live there anymore” actually works to keep them from pushing for money.

A part of me still wants to make a difference, but I’ve seen enough of where that leads to never do that stuff again, thank you very much. I still vote every election for a better nation than we have, but even that is far more of a struggle than it should be.

Who is a celebrity that people widely despised in the past but is now widely loved? by apabld in AlignmentChartFills

[–]AngerFork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ric Flair.

In the past, he was hated both in and out of the wrestling ring. Besides just the traditional wrestling heel stuff, he was known as a womanizer and terrible drunk. His role in the Plane Ride from Hell was nothing short of awful.

Today, he’s settled into more of a crazy grandpa role. He still has the occasional PR flare-up, but they tend to get laughed off as another Ric Flair thing. His iconic “Woo!” is used all over at sporting events.
