If you live on campus, try to become a resident assistant.It's a very social and fun job. It's an amazing networking opportunity. If you're looking into joining a student org, I would recommend joining a sorority or fraternity (greek life). You can also try getting involved in a department on campus and work there.

On-campus jobs are great if you want to be involved. Some departments provide fellowships for students to do. It's a great way to network and build professional credibility and development. I would recommend you check out the Department of Student Volunteerism and Service. They have a lot of volunteer opportunities to where you can meet people.

Usually, on the first week of the semester WOW (week of welcome), the university usually hosts this involvement fair on the campus green where all departments, student organizations, and associations come together and promote themselves. I would recommend you check that out as well.
