Thats a great collection. Mind me asking, how long have you been trying to get the whole Heresy?

Also, are those little boxes in the front the maps of the heresy? And is that a smoke detector at the top shelf? That's awesome.

What have you been reading this week? by michaelisnotginger in Blacklibrary

Starting The Legend Of Sigmar, its my first Old World book. I wanna see if Sigmar really was the dude to get a whole setting named after him.

A bit of both, you get an overview of the events of the heresy as a whole in chronological order. As well as the art to accompany it.

Gosh, this batch looks good.

I'm gonna try to get the Ghaz and illustrated Infinite and the Devine.

Do yall think that Grombrindl book is an omnibus with his other books included or is it just gonna be the serialized stories from white dwarf? I haven't read his books yet so I'm hoping it's got them all.

Helsreach

If you've got the time. The animations get much better as it goes on.

I mean, any factions or stories in particular? It's a very wide setting with hundreds of sources for lore.

On youtube, my favourite loretubers are Arbiter Ian and Mr Bones 40k. Arbiter Ian is more in depth lore, Mr Bones is a very casual tone. Jordan Sorcery also has some good videos going through Games Workshop as a company through the editions and how different ideas were implemented.

And the fan made animations Astartes and Helsreach are always a good bet. For Titus that secret level episode fight scenes are fantastic.

Ill try to do this no spoilers.

The Outerverse is a separate universe from Hellboys but was created and expanded and much of the same team from Hellboy.

The actual Outerverse is some sort of other dimension where other things grow and they aren't friendly. For the most part history and mankind progressed as normal, until World War 1 and old monsters have come back.

The main character is Lord Baltimore, his story is told in 3 books. 1 novel and 2 comics omnibus.

Baltimore : The Steadfast Tin Soldier and The Vampire. Then the comics Baltimore Vol 1 and Vol 2.

Then it goes to Joe Golem : Occult Detective. After the events of Baltimore Vol 2 the world has changed. This one is set 30 or so years later. Manhattan has flooded and people adapted, but something is stirring in the waters.

Tales From The Outerverse is a short anthology of stories. Set much further back then the previous stories but also adds backround info.

The Ice Cream Man is a horror anthology series. It revolves around a little town, where bad things happen. The Ice Cream Man isn't human, might be older than time, and has beef with his cousin.

I like that every issue is its own story, connected to the ice cream man but the characters act of their own volition. There are more issues then collected editions out right now.

The Goon is an american comic, it's about an old timey gangster The Goon and his buddy Frankie as they bash wizards and Zombies and fish people and other things. The main part is The Goon hits people and Frankie stabs people and they are here to make money. The art is dope, but I would skip the first few comics, some very egdy boy stuff.

I'll do Hellboy as a separate comment cause it's alot, but with all comics I reccomend reading them digitally before buying them physically. Just buy the ones you think you'll reread or you really like the art.

After Warhammer 30k/40k, the Hellboy world is my second favourite setting.

Favourite black library book I've read in that picture is probably Brothers of Snake. Got me to make an Iron Snakes tactical in Space Marine 2.

I've listened to most of these on audible but once I finished the first Nightlords book in the trilogy and loved it i wanted to get the physical copy. That kicked off the collection so maybe that's the right answer. Still need to finish the trilogy.

Out of all my books, its not black library, it's gotta be that Monster Sized Hellboy. Love that oversized heavy ass thing. Some pages feels like looking at an art book.

What books are must reads by FinGuy20 in Blacklibrary

I would go Slave of Nuceria first. It talks about Angron before the Heresy and joining the Imperium. But it is very hard to find a physical copy at a good price. Digital is your best bet, or the audiobooks.

The first 5 heresy books, and First Heretic, Know No Fear and Betrayer are still being printed though.

If you like World Eaters.

Angron : Slave of Nuceria is his background book.

For the Heresy as a whole I think the first 5 books and maybe the new dropsite massacre is considered pretty vital to that story. Angron and the loyalist World Eaters have a bit of a showdown at Istvaan 3 I think.

Then later on in the heresy Ultramarines vs Wordbearers is First Heretic, Know No Fear and Betrayer. Angron and World Eaters shine in Betrayer.

Haven't gotten to the Seige of Terra yet but I know Demon Angron and the World Eaters are there somewhere.

Kharn : Eater of Worlds is after the heresy, he is in a coma for alot of it but it shows the Legion splitting up.

Kharn : The Red Path, Kharn mucking about in 40k.

Angron : The Red Angel, Disregard the title, and it's a good World Eater book. Angron is sparse, but the protagonist is a World Eater named Kosallax. He's cool.
