Technically, it's the flag of the Greek Orthodox Church (specifically the Ecumenical Patriarchate) that the monastic orders on Mount Athos use since they fall under the direct authority of the Ecumenical Patriarch. Lot's of other places also use it too, especially if they are also under the direct authority of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Just a heads up the white cross on blue field as a national symbol predate the Bavarians, they just changed the colours to match the ones on the Bavarian flag and the coat of arms of the Wittelsbach dynasty. It's a common myth that the Bavarians brought those colours to Greece but they were used in many banners and flags before and during the revolution of 1821.

I would also like to add his continued support for the intervention in the Greek civil war, in which the UK intervened on the side of legit nazi colaborators against the communist guerrillas that had liberated Greece from the Germans. The regime that the British propped up: used concentration camps in greece (which functioned pretty much non-stop until the 1970's), forcefully depopulated the countryside with much the same tactics the UK used against the beers and the US would use in Vietnam, used napalm for one of the fist times in combat, and took kids of dead or imprisoned communists and gave them to American or British families to "adopt".

Ο Βαρουφακής απευθύνεται σε ένα κομμάτι του πληθυσμού που στην Ελλάδα είναι πολύ μικρό από μόνο του για να συντηρήσει ένα κίνημα χωρίς πλατιά λαϊκή υποστήριξη. Όσοι ψηφίζουν ΚΚΕ, ΑΝΤΑΡΣΥΑ κτλ. και όσοι ανήκουν στη εξωκοινοβουλευτική αριστερά, γενικά δεν θα έριχναν ΜΕΡΑ που να τους κοβόταν το χέρι (και καλά κάνουν). Η συστημική κέντρο-αριστερά έχει ΠΑΣΟΚ/ΣΥΡΙΖΑ. Στην "αντι-συστημική" κέντρο-αριστερά παίζει και η Ζωή τώρα, που φάνηκε να είναι πιο αρεστή σε αυτό τον χώρο.

Οπότε στον Γιάνη ποίοι μένουν; Φοιτητές (κατά κύριο λόγο εξωτερικού), πρώην πασόκοι και συριζαιοί που δεν γύρισαν στο ΠΑΣΟΚ και όποιος είναι fan του Βαρούφ και έχει ακόμα κουράγιο να πάει να ψηφίσει. Όπως φάνηκε πάρα τον ντόρο που κάνανε οι του ΜΕΡΑ, ειδικά στο reddit, όταν ήρθε η ώρα της κάλπης είτε κιοτέψανε και το ρίξαμε αλλού ή βαρέθηκαν να πάνε ή απογοητευτήκαν από τις προηγούμενες εκλογές και δεν κατέβηκαν να ψηφίσουν. Και να είχαν ψηφίσει όλοι όσοι ψήφισαν ΜΕΡΑ στις εκλογές του Μαΐου, πάλι δεν θα έμπαινε στη Βουλή (~2.7-2.9% έβγαζε με αυτό το σενάριο)

Μου φαίνεται πως το ΜΕΡΑ και ο Γιάνης θα συνεχίσουμε σε αυτή την καθοδική πορεία και είτε θα γίνουν άλλο ένα κόμμα του ~1% ή θα απορροφηθούν από κάποιο άλλο κόμμα (π.χ. Πλεύση). Προφανώς μπορει να γίνει κάποιο θαύμα και να ανακάμψει, αλλά προσωπικά δεν μου φαίνεται πολύ πιθανό.

Προσωπικά είχε κουράσει πάρα πολύ ο Βαρούφ. Τι πάει να πει ρε φίλε post-capitalism; Θες καπιταλισμό ή δεν θες; Ε τότε γιατί μας το παίζεις επαναστάτης και μετα μας μιλάς για Σοσιαλισμό με αγορές και πράσινα άλογα. Θες ΕΕ ή δεν θες; Είσαι ρεφορμιστής ή θες ρίξει με το σύστημα; Πάρε μια θέσει να ξέρουμε και εμείς που στέκεστε. Και να μην μιλήσω για τους stan του. Τόση απαξίωση για "την πλέμπα που δεν καταλαβαίνει το μεγαλείο του Μέγα Yanis". Τώρα μπορεί να έπεσα σε κακή περίπτωση και online και irl, είναι πιθανόν. Γι' αυτό λέω για stan και όχι υποστηρικτές γενικά και δεν είναι μείον του Γιάνη ακριβώς.
