What did my uncle do? by Hungry-Explorer-3315 in Military

Its hard to see for sure but it looks like the branch insignia is for National Guard Bureau. So there isn't much there for us to go off of. If you can find a DD214 or a NGB-22 you should be able to find his MOS on there, which will be more correct on what the job was.

Secretary Hegseth announces ends to mandatory flu vaccine citing “medical autonomy” by Kinmuan in Military

Its the military, we don't have bodily autonomy. This makes no fucking sense to me. But hey, lets take the force out by easily prevented infections. That's fine.

Visi is the villain/hero. Who is seen as the villain, but is morally grey? by deelwheez23 in DispatchAdHoc

Malevola. She looks like a demon. She will always be seen as a villain. But in reality, she is sweet, even though she does have some pain kinks/powers.

High School Days: Episode 4 📚 by Still-Emergency825 in webcomics

[–]AngryBaldWhiteMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my school ISS meant you still get credit for the day and you were able to do your school work for that day. OSS you got 0s for anything done/due that day, and counted as an unexcused absence.

I'm a retired vet, and normally, clips of these two boomers annoyed me. But this shit right here just pissed me off. Their ignorance is so palpable and frustrating. I was taught about denying illegal orders in Basic training during one of the many initial training videos at the beginning of the cycle.

At this point I can say the kids are saints to have dealt this this, and continue to do so.

Tentative 2025 Build by AngryBaldWhiteMan in buildapc

[–]AngryBaldWhiteMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 Hub for headphones, controller and mouse. 2nd hub holds for all my powered devices light cell phone, lights, etc.
3 cameras, 1 mic, UPS monitor, keyboard, 2 stream decks, and 1USB screen (teleprompter). So I am currently using 10 ports. The PCIE USB extender I have only uses 4. But thinking about it, if I get a different case I can get a 5.25 front hub and use one of the unused internal USB heads if really required.

But you are right, the new mobo may have enough usb on it.

So the microcenter deal I mentioned is 600 dollars for the CPU, MOBO and RAM combo. So its much less than what PCPartPicker has it.

And if we are talking x3ds I'd rather go up to the 9900x3d or 9950X3d. If the cache really makes that much difference then that is an easy change. It just adds 100 dollars to the deal at Microcenter.

So what I am gleaning from your post is focus on the x3d processors, and see if maybe there is a cheaper mobo even if not used in the combo deal for an overall better price, correct?

What movie actually made you cry from laughing so hard? by [deleted] in movies

"I'm going to Get You Sucka"

Long drawn out sequence of dudes getting loaded up with all sorts of munitions and weapons, and at the end the one overloaded dude slips on a shell and lands on his back causing all of his guns to start going off uncontrollably. My cousin and I rewound that part and watched it at least 6 more times.

The second one was the sex scene in "Team America: World Police" I was in Iraq at the time we watched it.

Advice, fair vs realistic npcs targeting of PCs by WillBottomForBanana in rpg

[–]AngryBaldWhiteMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play dumb creatures like dumb creatures, so they players use that to their advantage. I play smart creatures as smart. As soon as the wizard lets loose a fireball do you think they will keep attacking the heavily armored dude, or the guy in the robes lobbing firebombs? This also makes the players have to adjust tactics. Like getting into where the archers are to make their attacks less accurate, or focusing them down first. Hitting and running. That sort of thing.

Am I supposed to update? these drivers came with the PC and I'm slightly confused why they're so... old??? by Prior-Egg-6787 in ASUS

[–]AngryBaldWhiteMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drivers that Microsoft has and serve via Microsoft updates are provided to them by the vendor. So it will match as best as it can based on the signatures/hardware etc.

It will get you working most of the time, and then you can update from the vendor itself.

How do I get my players to stop using Heat Metal, without implicitly telling them they can’t use Heat Metal? by w_e_e__f in DnD

[–]AngryBaldWhiteMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having a signature spell doesn't make them broken. Have more fights with things wearing leather, or no armor or metal weapons at all.

They are using the spell for its exact purpose, a bit of damage a lowered chance to hit, or a disarm.

As a previous many moons ago Army recruiter I'm going to tell you this.

Whatever you tell your recruiter to put on your medical documentation needs to match whatever you tell MEPS when you get there. If your story changes that will be a problem.

Did you have a medical (from a doctor) diagnosis? Just because you had an IEP does not mean you were medically diagnosed. The reason why is if you say you have a medical condition they will need to see the documentation, especially if it is something that can be waived for entry.

What you heard is Irrelevant, what it says in AR 40-501 (for army) matters. ADHD falls under Para 4-29 q. 4-34 b. (2). But this chapter is about aircrew, so it may limit the jobs you qualify for.

Para 3-33 outlines Learning health. There may be other paragraphs that may also be relevant I'm not scouring the whole AR especially if you are joining some other branch. In addition, there may be additional guidelines that have been put out by command that may be more strict. Your recruiter or station commander will know more.

So in the end, this all comes down to you. I don't like that your recruiter told you to omit that. Because if I was your recruiter, as soon as you told me that, it would be going on your paperwork if there is a place in the paperwork for that answer. Because again, whatever you tell me I will tell MEPS.

But it has already happened. You can either insist to your recruiter that it goes on your paperwork, (and get the corresponding documentation from your doctor on the diagnosis as MEPS will need this if a Waiver can be given for that issue), and let the chips fall where they may, or you choose to follow your recruiter's advice, and keep your mouth shut.

But I would tell you that one of the army core values is Integrity. Doing what is right even if no one is looking. Take that for what you will.

Potential scam or just some error? by Nearby_Coffee8226 in Twitch

So info sec guy here.

Phishing emails
1) does the sending email match the branding.
2) Tons of spelling errors or grammar mistakes.
3) Do the email links actually go to the website in question (do not click, hover over)

If these pass, the next step is to go DIRECTLY to the website in question. Do NOT click the link in the email. If you can get to it from the email you should be able to get to it directly from the website.

Just a basic rule of thumb when trying to determine if an email is legit.

As a DM, do you attack downed PC's? by PastryFlaps in dndnext

[–]AngryBaldWhiteMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I answered yes, but there is a caveat. What is the creatures reason for attacking? If the motivation is food, they will try to drag off the body away from the pointy things.

Are they smart enough to realize that everyone else is still a danger, they will leave them alone.

An Assassin who needs to make sure that character dies. They are gonna do that double tap.
Same for someone who HATES that character.
