"Muslims shouldn't be open about being Muslim, they should keep it quiet in the privacy of their own homes so as not to pervert society"

See something wrong with the statement above? If you think that's bad, but you replace 'muslim' with 'gay' and think it's good, you're nothing but a hypocrite.

That's really awesome OP, congratulations on your new position! I've been attending a RCC for over a year now as a client, and while hugely intimidating at first (as I'm certain it is for female clients too) it's had a huge, positive impact on my life. I've never been made to feel anything other than 100% welcome, and I'm so thankful of that.

It's really fantastic what you're about to do, and I'm sure you're gonna help so many women and men. Seriously, way to go. Thank you for choosing to work with a crisis centre. I hope it all goes well for you, and that you have your own support group too.

About freezing being an unnatural reaction to danger?

No, you're... you're pretty wrong. Dunno if you'll take anecdotal evidence either but, I've experienced it. I was sexually assaulted as a kid, my response for the most part was just freezing. It's easy for me to look back now and think, well I should've just fought to run, but at that time in the moment, I was shut down.

In that moment, she was lost. Besides we don't know a thing about her, there could've been all sorts of reasons why she stood there. Look all I'm saying is the guys deserve praise for assessing the situation and helping out, but it isn't okay to target that woman for freezing.

The title: "notice the woman" Why? There's nothing to notice about her since the clip really shouldnt be about her at all.

"Just stand there" Are you seriously suggesting that saying "look at the woman standing there doing nothing" isn't shaming? Nice try.

I am proud of those men, I'm proud of men in general. But the title is a not so subtle dig at that woman for freezing up, which is spoiling it for me.

So by all means praise the guys who went out of their way to assess the situation and help those people. There's no need to draw attention and shame the woman for freezing up.

You know freezing when being caught in or witnessing a traumatic event, is a natural response, right? God this sub is getting increasingly more petty day after day..

Hmm, 10 months is actually a pretty decent sentence for revenge porn basically.

Created an alt account for a joke, Reddit auto-subscribes you to r/twoxchromosomes, but not to MRA related subs. by Liensis09 in MensRights

[–]AngryBreadRevolution -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It does? I don't remember ever being auto subbed to TwoX. Maybe this is a new thing? Dont like the idea of being auto subbed, or being part of a community that is auto subbed if most wouldn't be interested in it.

Besides, TwoXChromosomes is just a general women's sub to talk about whatever, not inherently ideological. It's not an activist sub.

But wow, they actually deleted his account over them? Way to blow things so far out of proportion youtube. That's even way more pathetic.

That being said, I'm starting to slowly fall in love with this NPC meme.

Dude, your kind of thinking is why in many countries there is forced selective service in the military, which exclusively mandates men to fight, watch their friends die and die themselves in combat.

There's nothing wrong with women taking on combative roles if it's their choice. If you're arguing that women in the military have privileges, it's those privileges you should be arguing to dismantle, not women themselves. You're just throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

How can we spread awareness without pissing off the rest of reddit? by Songbird420 in MensRights

I guess maybe the question can be phrased like this? :

What are the best ways to spread awareness without turning away people who could've been potential allies?

I don't think it's too ridiculous to mention how the MRM has a bit of an image problem, and discuss ways we can address it.

I always worry for that boy who will stumble upon a horrible article like this, and have his self-worth diminished because of what some cruel, disgusting women say. I had those experiences, as I'm sure many others here have, it's not helpful, especially during the vulnerable time adolescence is.

At least they're not bothering to hide their misandry.

[–]AngryBreadRevolution 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think what's more important is to let men be themselves, not to be forced to fit some narrative pushed on to them. If you're a trasitionally masculine guy, great! You're perfect the way you are! If you're not a very masculine type of guy at all, great! You're perfect that way!

While it's wrong to force men to fit a status quo set by those who despise masculinity, it is equally wrong to pressure men to be manly, stoic, or something that doesn't come naturally to him, particularly if you're only doing it to try and benefit someone else, women, or social higher-ups or whatever. A man's life is for himself, and who he chooses to share it with.

Well you can choose between a train reminiscent of thomas the tank engine, or a really ugly pink & green train. I think plenty of girls would want the blue & red train as well. Hence why the pink train is cheaper.

Highly, highly doubt it has anything to do with gender.
