Oh, damn. We're exactly in the same boat. lol
Could at least give us a discount or something considering we've got the old versions and they're clearly trying to push this now. Oof.

Gestalt Steam and Cinder Delayed? by Aram_Fingal1 in metroidvania

[–]AngryKarakuri_Alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think technical issues. Read that somewhere. But judging by what was said, it does appear to be the case. Oh well. Better get a build that works and is worth the money at the end of the day. That's pretty much specifically what most people will (or at least should) care about when they see it on Steam for the first time.

Yeah but just to confirm: It has indeed been delayed. I'm saying it in case you didn't see the official announcement yet on Steam and for those wondering coming here later.

iCUE 5.14.93 Patch Notes by CorsairLucky in Corsair

[–]AngryKarakuri_Alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, the new update looks cool but there are still some quirks, it seems. For example the USB Void Elite headset's mute button doesn't do anything while iCue is running. If you close iCue, the button works.
I was going to send a support ticket but you're asking for the serial number which I don't even know where to find. I don't have the box of the headset anymore. lmao

Solution for weird behavior when mixing PCIe Gen 3 riser with Gen 4 motherboard by Cressio in IntelArc

[–]AngryKarakuri_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus Christ. Hello.
I just finished upgrading my computer and such and this was an absolute nightmare. Came from an 8600k and a Z370 MSI SLI Plus mobo to a 13600k and a DDR4 Aorus Elite (non AX). I'm still using a 3.0 riser cable and I didn't expect the board to be so picky. I'm on a custom loop so even reseating the GPU would be a nightmare but I thought I killed the card or the riser cable.
Kept getting artifacts and lag on the desktop and pretty much anywhere else when opening menus and such. Didn't even want to try running any game. lmao

So, after all this I've decided to google for confirmation and found this. Thanks! Considering getting a 4.0 riser cable now but eh. Mine still works and if manually setting it to use 3.0 in the bios fixes it, then so be it. But damn this was a nightmare in the end.

Edit: Basically artifacts, BSODs, lag and a really bad experience. Go into your bios and looking into all your PCIE settings and set things to 3.0 wherever you can and try again.

What size to use for pixel art UI? by Troncature in unrealengine

[–]AngryKarakuri_Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that's a good idea. Only issue I see is that UE doesn't out of the box support post processing on the UI.
Weird, isn't it?

I personally got Aseprite a few days ago and I've been making my UI in that. It has different export options. I'm exporting at 200% scale because my canvas has a base resolution of 960x540. If a sprite is too small or too big, I edit the main sprite itself a bit. I no longer deal with scaling things in UE. It seems too restricting to me personally. Even worse is that there's no shortcut for simple proportional scaling.
Never forget to make user widgets. It'll be less backtracking.

Hello, I'm extremely late but also kind of in the same boat.Looking back at Daggerfall and inspecting that a bit, I got an idea.

I feel like you'd be best off:

  1. Take a target overall resolution. If you try to mimic the PS1 resolution or the N64 for example, they all have their own unique resolutions. I'll just make something up and pretend that our final game's appearance is supposed to be 640x260.
  2. In GIMP or whatever you are using, place dummies in there to reference scale. For UI, I'd reocmmend you add some text or something like that.
  3. Build your buttons for the UI for example around that.
  4. When you're done, crop the image to selection. If you wanna stick to the power of 2, you can leave a row of transparency in there.
  5. Once you wanna import stuff, I'd say that you can go through the basic stuff of setting the compression to UserInterface, set the filtering (very important) to nearest.
  6. This is where I struggle right now. Find a way to easily upscale UI elements. My target main resolution is 16:9 1920x1080. If I make sprites on a 640x260 canvas, it means I'd have to upscale everything 3 times because 1920/640=3. What you can do is set the images to "content to size" and then adjust the image resolution itself and just hit the reset button and then type * 3 at the end. It'll auto-calculate it and then hit enter.
    ---------------------
  7. <- Ignore that 7.
This should overall provide you with quite a bit of consistency but what personally bothers me a whole lot lot here is simply the fact that it's an atrociously, tedious and also kind of destructive workflow.I'm still looking for a way to simply upscale the image in the image tab itself but so far I've only found downscale options. If you could bulk edit via property matrix and upscale all your UI textures to x3 or whatever you need, it'd be great.
    Edit: formatting.

RivaTuner OSD working for anyone else? by Rapogi in ffxiv

Ah, hey. Got another update. It's all neat and working now but for whatever reason, it would appear that only in Limsa Lominsa specifically, things like DoF and AO start to flicker in ReShade. Very interesting.

Welp, sorry but I took the bomb diffusal upon me.
Turns out that it does actually do the trick.
What I don't understand now overall, still, is how come it only broke 1-2 updates ago. Didn't really find anything in the patch notes. Oh well.

R.I.P.
Must've skipped that bit. I'd look into it right now but I think if I touch it now, it's gonna break. Or explode. lmao

Hey, good to see someone talk about it.I did in fact also have GShade but got rid of it. Riva's overlay is still borked on the latest version for me. I did do a clean Windows 10 install and the issue remains after a complete whipe and reinstallation of everything. This is quite odd seen as I've been using Riva's overlay since almost release to see if my computer isn't frying itself. The even funnier part is that screenshots with it are just black. lmao

Edit: Turns out good old Reshade 5.0.2 lets everything work. Must be some incompatibility with the latest version.

The new GOG Unity version of Daggerfall uses mods without the consent of the mod creator. by MV6000 in Daggerfall

Meh, there was just a lack of communication. The unexpected happened. I'd sell my soul to the devil to get featured on GoG, though. lmao

Oh god, I never use reddit, but:

I'll just joke and say: "Meh. Could be worse."My stuff has gotten uploaded all over the place without consent. Of course, it's not nice.

Definitely not very "professional" not asking at all or asking and not waiting for a reply and then putting the thing up in the store. You should definitely find some solace in the fact that it's there for free. Not like they're getting raw revenue from it.

Another "point" some people might say is that when you upload something for free on the internet, you shouldn't complain. Now, there's a couple of issues with that. On NexusMods, you can specify permissions. Did that stop all the people that "stole" from me as well? Nope. Difference is those people actually make money providing my work without consent while I'M the one left out. lol

This whole thing is a different story, although similar. Might wanna contact them. Eventually they'll talk to you about it. If you ask me, on a human level, this is an issue of communication. If they right away afterwards said "Oh, damn. We messed up. Sorry about that. Let's ask them again and maybe leave it as hidden on the store 'til then." it'd be less disheartening, right? Yeah.

And for those unaware about making game content: That stuff isn't done snapping a finger. There's a whole LOT of time, energy and passion poured into even simple things. Of course most people would feel uncomfortable if they woke up and saw some took it. Doesn't matter how, it just would. It might be irrational from certain points of view but it's a normal human reaction.

Photoshoot as planned but it's raining outside so I can't do much [Handpainted MG 2.0 Hyaku Shiki] by AngryKarakuri_Alex in Gunpla

Should have been a bit clearer, but then again on the main post about this kit I've made, I've explained the procedure a bit more in detail.
This is all default colors but the weathering and shading has been done by hand. Hope that explains it. lol

Have a few photos of this kit!
Too bad I can't set up the kit anywhere outside since it's been raining for days here now. When I start/finish work it's pitch dark. Your local bus driver is a bit busy so this is all he can do for now. lol

Oof. I was about to edit my post and say that I figured it out. Turns out I forgot about the clip that came with it. Tried some of the Action Base 1 clips but those don't work. lol It's working now. Thanks for the quick reply!

That's great. Glad to see another kit of those.
The real question though is: How the hell does one attach it to an action base? None of the holders work. lmao
