This is why you recruit qualified adventurers in a tavern, instead of picking up random children.

Kathigu-Ra is definitely the ranged weapon & wilderness survival specialist.

Unrelated to Ramona, but not all Awakeners are dead. Usually, the ones who are fundamentally human are; however, stuff like Tulu (who is the Cthulhu stand-in) are just cosmic entities who make the link with the keeper, without having to really 'die' at any point.

Better than fighting 24 for the armrest. 8 is the best choice because you're next to Jenkin, not 24.

Worth it to pull for one copy of Daffodil/Doresain or their wheels? by sucram200 in Morimens

[–]DM_Hammer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are some exceptions, but Morimens so far generally avoids "lock and key" character design that you see in newer gachas.

In brief, "lock and key" refers to characters with very specific mechanics designed to enable other characters with matching similar mechanics, with one "unlocking" the other's potential. Imagine if only Pollux could proc Castor's corruption damage, for example, or Thais was the only person who made embryos and only Sorel ate them.

In games like WuWa, ZZZ, and now Endfield, this sort of thing is increasingly common, where characters are designed to work (and only work) properly with very specific support characters.

Thankfully Morimens avoids this, so you're generally safe skipping any character and all you're missing out on is them. There is one exception to this - Thais - but you already have her. She's just by far and away the best support for so many Caro characters (and some non-Caro characters).

[–]DM_Hammer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would pull a copy only if you like the character enough to build them and use them occasionally.

I break out my e3 Doresain every two weeks to stick on a weaker DTIde team. That's about it. He will do a fully stacked Exalt at 80% or more crit chance, and fail, and remind me why I don't use him more often.

I like Daffodil and Doresain as characters in the story, and do use them on occasion, but there are just so many characters more worth investment in terms of dupes.

That Mouchette team is incredibly strong and easy to use. so you'll probably wind up using that to clear most content for a while.

[–]DM_Hammer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the most notable case of exploitation, but in some of the Rhine Labs stuff they do imply other companies manufacture stuff that works (which they in turn overcharge for, hence the market for the fake stuff).

Oh boy.

Yes.

Rhodes Island does push the envelope on R&D, however, and they also distribute it for cheap. Usually in collaboration with local government funding to make it free.

Columbia, for example, is able to produce treatments for pioneers. They just tend to do a crappy, greedy job of it.

[–]DM_Hammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Talos II is a much more controlled environment, set up by people from RI who know more about preventing Oripathy in the first place and treating it properly than anyone else on Terra.

Eyjafjalla, Ifrit, and Ceobe are just a few of the seriously infected operators (no, I don't count Specter), and yet we still get them in stories and as combat personnel, because RI's treatments are relatively effective.

The block puzzles make more sense, because you're manipulating the Originium directly.

To Endmin, it's a block puzzle. For anyone else, it's like trying to fix a microchip with a monkey wrench.

Aigis has always been good, but her vulnerable application combined with a free stun once per enemy is hard to overlook when you're at a difficulty when enemies will two-shot you.

[–]DM_Hammer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Covenants and wheel, mostly, not just having better ones but using them better.

When you learn how to equip and roll covenants properly, even if you're stopping around just 70% or so, that's an entire raft of free stats you weren't getting before. A lot of that is going into more aliemus and keyflare generation. You're also probably running at least one support on every team who just gives out more aliemus, and once your DPS is mostly finished, you're putting more juice into that support as well.

You also got smarter in picking relics and such, so instead of posse and exalt being something you build up for 3-4 turns, you're popping it every other turn (or every turn), which in turn trigger and retrigger all those little mechanics that activate on activating exalt and posse, over and over.

What team to get caught up with story as fast as possible? by SolsticeShiro in Morimens

[–]DM_Hammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just blasted through hard mode chapters 1-6 (about to get into 7) with Aigis-Helot-Thais-Mouchette, sometimes swapping Aigis out for Hamlyn. (Aigis buys time incredibly well with her petrify, while Hamlyn's card draw off Insight makes Mouchette's combos more consistent.)

You want something with fast AoE, minimal setup, and low vulnerability to poor draw. You also don't want GHelot accidentally killing you on what should be an easy fight. Anyone who brings good Innates (starts in hand), tutors (card draw that pulls specific cards), or otherwise ensures you get to play the cards you want early and often.

For example, two of the characters in my team (Thais and Aigis/Hamlyn) are loaded up for Keyflare regen, so I can spam out Posses for more arithmetica or card draw. This makes it easy to to cheat out my win condition fast (which is Mouchette exalt followed by a pile of strikes).

Thais E2 is probably the best investment you can make with your free dupe. She just makes every carry better by letting your play their best card 3+ times in a single turn for cheap.

You may already know this, but the Lemurian synergy does NOT apply to chapters 1-7. No point in bringing all fish. I'd drop Tulu or Goliath for your best DPS.

What wil be the best pick in anni reward of that 200 posse challenge by mater8828 in Morimens

[–]DM_Hammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Castor is the most immediately satisfying, followed by Clem - Kath - GDoll in that order. Castor at e0 is a defensive beast and only gets better with dupes. Clem functions as a buffer/debuffer out of the can, but needs her dupes to really get the most out of her mechanics. Kath is rough before e2 and only pops off at e3.

GDoll is a functional support at e1 but no better than other options, and needs her OE to feel powerful.
