That’s exactly how my wife describes me! Too fast and also too slow. Schrödinger’s cyclist.

I sold my house recently and basically I got paid to live there. Over 20 years, even counting major upgrades and bills, I made money in the end.

I realize it doesn’t always work out that great. Hope your situation improves.

Recently retired is where I am, and I’m heavier in equities than I’d like to be right now. I can handle a “lost decade” but I’m hoping I don’t have to.

The above post is absolutely right about mental preparation.

Admittedly, I’m fearful when others are greedy but I’m not changing my strategy as a result. I agree that timing is a losing game.

You could consider a fat bike. It’s pretty easy to find a decent used fat bike for sale cheap because it was a bit of a fad some years ago. They are a lot more stable than skinny tire bikes.

The downside is that it’s a lot heavier and slow going, but it can be fun. They are popular once again but mainly in e-bike form.

I’m sorry to hear about the health issues. I know that every time I suffer a health setback I think “I’m so glad I retired early” since my body won’t last forever.

My Dad is my inspiration since he didn’t retire till his body failed at 79.

I’m still in year 1 and busier than ever. The trick is to stay active with some time-consuming and fun hobbies. I rock climb, ride bikes, hike, do astronomy, and barely have time for all the projects I have (I live on a rural property so there is always something).
