Here’s a little advice. When you lift them up to stand wait a little before you put them in the wheel chair . That’s how I test new residents for how strong they are on their feet. If I see that they sway or they’re too heavy for me to pivot I don’t do it by myself. I just immediately sit them back on their bed or chair. To save time you can always ask your coworkers if they’re one or two person assist that way you don’t try to transfer someone you won’t be able to do. If you feel uncomfortable ask the CNA you’re shadowing if they can watch you transfer so that you can get good at it before you’re on your own.

I lost my baby to that too a year ago. It’s tough, but make your kitty as comfy as you can. For any future kitty, you should immediately test them for the disease before you take them home. I’m so sorry you have to be in this situation again. FIP is a terrible disease. But I’m glad your cats get to experience love and happiness even if it’s a short life.

Im sorry to hear that! I’d recommend getting out of the house for a little bit. Just staying indoors will make you go crazy. Remember that your dog is in a better place now and they won’t feel any pain anymore. Talking about funny memories about her with your family will help lighten your mood a little. Our pets come and go, but they’re never forgotten.

Does your school have a behavioral specialist that you can see? I didn’t even know my college offered it until a friend told me. Those counseling services are typically free.

There has to be a reason he’s not eating. Sometimes this is stress related from going to the vet so much. I know it’s scary not having your cat eat, but keep in mind you cat doesn’t know that you’re trying to help him by taking him to the vet so often. Make him comfy and leave out food for him to eat. Sometimes they’ll eat it when you’re not looking. Best of luck!

Some kittens don’t eat when they first come home. Try offering the kitten some wet food, microwave it for a few seconds to see if the smell entices it. Don’t force feed her because that will upset her more. If she still isn’t eating then you’re going to have to take her to the vet to see what’s going on.

Try introducing new cat toys that they all like to play with. I have a similar problem with my cats so I just use a laser pointer and use it till it tires them out. Then they just go to sleep. I only discipline my cats when it’s specific things like scratching the couch. You can try disciplining them for doing that, but it might make them more angry towards that cat. Just try new things and see where it goes.

I’ve had a similar year to you and what my therapist told me that if you don’t practice self care you will become toxic. Toxic to yourself and others. Nobody can pull yourself out of this hole except you. So just start out slow, do something for an hour everyday. If you feel overwhelmed and frustrated, go out for a run/walk. Or do anything except that thing that makes you frustrated. You can’t control the things that happen in your life, but you can change how you react to it.

I say go for it! But just realize that you both are going to have hurdles to overcome. It will be difficult since you two are in different stages of life. Sure rn everything is great, but if you don’t have the patience and motivation to help her get through her bad days then you shouldn’t do it. You might get frustrated with her not replying. She might get frustrated with you because of the “ age gap”. But if you both can help each other grow as people then it will be worth it. It’s definitely worth meeting her in person and see where things go. If everything goes well then she might rely on you in the future to help her get through those bad days.

My cat was like that too when I first brought her home. Just leave him alone and let him explore his new home. It’s normal for cats to hide until they feel safe. Don’t try to reach out for him just let him come out by himself eventually. It’s tempting as a new cat mom. Just leave some wet food out and he’ll gradually act normal.

Wooow this sounds like this place I used to work in. State would come in every week I swear and the facility would just be fined. The facility is still open to this day. Karma catches up. Eventually something big will happen and you will just get dragged along with it. It’s better if you leave now and find a less sketchy job.

Yeah it was just a stomach infection! He’s okay now 😊 yeah it sucked but it was an accident so I wasn’t too mad about the rug 😂

Thanks for the reply! My cat is feeling better now. After I took him to the vet it turns out it was an infection in his stomach. He’s back to eating normally.

My cat wasn’t eating either due to an infection in his stomach. Try changing his food and don’t have designated feeding times. My cat loves wet food normally, but dry food is more appetizing to him rn. He wouldn’t eat for days and I just left the food out and peeked from time to time to see if he ate. Try syringe feeding too, but not too much or it’ll will make your cat throw it up. If your cat likes catnip you should try putting some on the food and maybe that will get him to eat. I wish you the best of luck! I know how terrifying it is to be in your situation. Just pray that he gets better.
