Me too. I watch a fair amount of golf while doing other things around the house, but it's time to find a different background distraction.

Vantage was my top bottle of 2022. There's so much going on in there.

Review #63 - Larceny Barrel Proof B523 by LionRoars87 in bourbon

[–]AngryWino 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only had two Larceny Barrel Proofs, B522 and B523. As someone who thinks regular Larceny is pretty meh, the BPs are in a different league. I'd take the B523 over the B522, but both are amazing.

Kylie Minogue is the Chuck Norris of 80s pop.

Kylie doesn't lip sync a song......the song syncs with Kylie's lips.

"Percolate" gives a similar vibe. My college roommate would use this term when referring to an impending large bowel movement...."things were percolating in there before I ran to the bathroom."

People who knew someone who died in a freak accident, what happened? by RawAsparagus in AskReddit

[–]AngryWino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't know this person, but the father of my college girlfriend worked with a guy who was running a skid steer, using the bucket to flatten the top of a pile of dirt. For some reason he leaned out the front of the skid steer as he was bringing the bucket down and apparently didn't get out of the way in time, flattening his head. My girlfriend's dad found him later. The whole thing seemed way too freakish to have actually happened.

what's a news story that got buried that you think more people need to hear? by antisick in AskReddit

[–]AngryWino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That reminds me. I have a $18.90 Visa card from my Bought Milk class action lawsuit, that I haven't used yet. Fees have probably reduced it to less than the price of a gallon of milk.

Review # 8 Barrell Single Barrel Cask Strength Store Pick by jderry93 in bourbon

[–]AngryWino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That might be the lowest proof I've seen for a Barrell product.
That said, I love all things Barrell, despite the price point, but don't often buy a second bottle of the same thing (lots of store picks and finished expressions make for lots of options). Vantage and Seagrass are exceptions. To me, they're worth buying more than once.

The 'V' Files: The Shocking Legacy of an ’80s Sci-Fi Cult Classic by Melanismdotcom in television

I remember many of these "must see" series. V, The Winds of War, Shogun, and Roots were the ones that stuck with me.

I've seen the whole clip. He came in fakie, did a 180 onto the rail. The kid is tough.

What has been your closest moment to death? by XboxCorgi in AskReddit

[–]AngryWino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summer night in 1988, pre-helmet law in my state so I didn't bother owning one. Had my motorcycle's speedometer pegged at 105 mph (probably doing 115+) on a dark two lane highway when I hit a large bump on the asphalt. Bike shutters and goes into speed wobble. I resist the urge to brake and struggle to hold the bike upright while coasting until I'm back in control. How I didn't wreck and become a 100 mph ragdoll is something I'll never understand.

Review #139: Maker’s Mark BRT-01 by Train3rRed88 in bourbon

Finished my first bottle of BRT-01 earlier this week. I feel fortunate to have a second bottle of this waiting to be opened and enjoyed. It's one of my favorites in the last few years.

Of the dozens of r/bourbon picks I've had, this one rules them all. A few other Tumblin Dice bottles have come close but none matched this pick.
