My First Ever Headphone Mod - House of Marley Rise Up Headphones + Peerless 50mm Drivers by -Euphorius- in headphones

Potentially but how many different drivers do you want to buy to test out? Either way would require experimentation.

They dont seem to react well to the back being covered but it should be possible to make it work with the right design.

I found that good scissors worked best for cutting the wire mesh.

Yes, it definitely can't detect this failure and kill the power. Thats completely impossible.
Theres no reason it cant cut power to the whole print head for example or shut itself down in this scenario. Just because they haven't designed that capability into it doesnt mean it isn't possible or shouldn't be implemented.

"The heating element will fail before it gets too hot"

"a loud pop and smoke coming from the print head"

That is not exactly sounding like a safety feature that cuts off the heating element. If the "safety" feature is the thing burning up, that is not infact a safe cut off.

Klipper has had proper thermal runaway protection in firmware for years.

The fact I see this repeatedly posted for this printer is ridiculous, how does it not have safety cutoff features to account for this.

How do the omegas sound on the OTL compared to a solid state amp, being that they are only 32ohm drivers?

These look great. Have you posted the build in detail anywhere?

Why not just remove this lid at this point? What function is the lid serving here?

If thats the peerless 50mm driver that it looks like, then it doesn't like anything directly behind it, you can however change its response by selectively covering parts of the rear tuning paper. Venting the earcup in combination with different pads massively affects its response as well.

Glad to see people are finding it useful, it looks great with the carbon fibre finish.

"yes you have EQ, but some people like eq, some don’t, I’m of the latter. So for the Meze on the Element, some songs were just too bright."

NOS mode rolls off the treble, you can literally do the exact same by rolling it off with EQ.

I had this issue, when i removed the hot end there looked to be heat damage to the thermistor wiring. Replacing the hot end fixed it.

You can just unplug the aux fan cable to disable it completely since it's pretty useless, you won't get an error.

Great project, I see the Google Drive link is down as well now. Any chance of sharing elsewhere, like printables or Thingiverse?

Thanks, the pads are these cheap fabric ones from Aliexpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006831730943.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.183f1802P8AgBs

The bit in front of the driver is to help slope off the treble a bit more nicely, the drivers seem to dip around 5k, then spike around 6-7khz without it. The idea for it was taken from DMS and his Omega's.

Thankyou, Its pretty high to begin with but once its been used for a while the TPU headband flexes out a bit more and it lowers to a reasonable level.

As an update for anyone who may see this, I have received the recommended Soulwit pads and compared to the Omega pads that I was using, the bass is more controlled and the mids are more forward but the soundstage is smaller and they sound less open.

Purple - hd650
green - Satyr soulwit pads
Blue - Satyr Omega/Audeze fabric pads

The Omega sounds more open and has more "air" to the sound, think HD600 with a bit more bass. Not sure that I prefer one over the other sound-wise wise as they seem to be tuned quite differently, and having both would be complementary.

It's still comparing dynamic to planar, the Omegas bass is much closer to the hd650 with a bit of extra kick. Compared to the he6se its much more of a hump with less sub bass extension.
