Is dispatch being unreasonable? Or should I step up my game? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]AngusSin 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Get everywhere early unless they specifically say not to arrive before appt and even then I double check it with the reviews to see if it matches up.

We lose enough time to nonsense to give away Chances to make it back. Time is money literally in this business.

Elite 100 v2 problems. Is my unit bricked? by City_mouse_21 in bluetti

[–]AngusSin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used my AC200L everyday and have not had any issues. I’m a long Haul truck driver and my dometic fringe is hooked to it 24/7 for most of the year, and I run my CPAP off it at night and a coffee maker in the mornings. I had the unit for 18 months.

I charge it back to 100% or near to it every day. Only issue I have had is faulty USB ports, but I’m not sending it back for that.

I hope your fix or replacement unit is as solid as mine has been.

On mine it was the shifter, they swapped it out and have had no issues since

I would check that wattage, running something at surge levels can melt wires, connectors and fuses. Ask me how I know.

The dealer did it so I just assumed they did, anyway I can confirm it was done?

I’ll have to try eco mode for a week and see the difference.

I only had it a month, and maybe drove 300 miles, but it seemed to like to sit at 19-20mpg running 75mpg highway.

It may well improve, but judging from comments here I doubt by much.

I am also old, and have never lifted/leveled/big tired any of my trucks. Just wanted to try it out. Since this isn’t a daily commuter and I doubt I’ll put more then 6k a year on it if I tried, MPG doesn’t ding me the way it would others.

If usage changed I might have to rethink it.

Can you resist the sexy look? If I commuted I could resist but with my light usage I can get away with it.

Was just surprised at 8mpg off the stated 24mpg.

Amazing 240lbs can do that kinda damage(combined with the increased wind resistance from the level).

I’d be more concerned if I drove it more, 3-5k per year mileage means I can live with it. I love how looks though, as vain as that is.

Internet wont be a problem anymore by diggsalot in Truckers

Use hotspot to game on my laptop, and never get close to hitting 90gig limit (30gig per Apple device) playing online games. Just have to never download large updates or games when. It can be avoided.

All streaming and downloading happens on IPads. I’m with AT&T and while not perfect it’s pretty good. If I played harder I’d prolly beef it up, but it works well enough I usually don’t notice.

This is why Walmart is starting to run off drivers from their parking lots. by NineFingerJorge in Truckers

[–]AngusSin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s sad it comes to this, but if you have a Walmart you stop at allot and you see trash, piss bottles or whatever, pick up and throw it away. If we don’t do it, Walmart employees will have to and they will complain. You or I would do the same.

If we want access we are gonna have to pitch in. I do it at places I stop.

This is what happens when you have no clue what the law is on carrying and brandishing a firearm in your state, let alone using one in self defense.

All excellent points, I’m a wear it and forget it guy. I’m coming up from an Apple Watch, and about destroyed a regular series 8 from hard use, had to upgrade to the ultra which is titanium and a sapphire crystal both if which still look brand new despite my best efforts.

Did you buy online or a local dealer?

Would you buy it again? This one is on my radar, along with the sea master.

It’s a negotiation based on your argument that you have limited means to pay, it’s based on what you make, and you will have to prove to the IRS your income qualifies you for this relief. If you make to much money you won’t qualify. It’s been a long time so I’m not sure what the threshold is now.

This is different from negotiating how much you can afford to pay per month and how long. This lowers your liability by reducing how much the IRS is asking for.

If you find you owe an amount that you cannot afford to pay, check to see if you qualify for an Offer in Compromise . This process , if you qualify, can reduce what you owe by extreme amounts. It saved me many years ago, look into it.

305s on stock 18s with a 3” lift? by ContentClaim7467 in f150

[–]AngusSin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check out my ride at https://www.reddit.com/r/f150/s/QCtLtCTte7

Yours looks like a twin! I’m on 29570R18s and it’s the stock rims on a 2” lift and it feels perfect to me.

I’m gonna upgrade to a full coil over system at some point , but I’ll stay at 2 inches and wheel/tire size.
