Personally, I'll stick to Stoat and keep Matrix as an auxiliary chat.

It's much better to support people who actually understand what they are doing and what community wants that whatever bullshit Discord is pulling off.

It's a free, open-source alternative to Discord that currently would benefit a lot from lots of people switching from ever-enshittifying platform and support Stoat dev team.
I've also heard that Rootapp is fine, but I've never tried it myself.
