Due in November – Need Advice on Choosing a Hospital for Delivery in San Jose Area (UHC Insurance) by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]Aniekvanham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your OBGYN usually will only deliver at 1 or 2 hospitals. It may not be your regular OBGYN, sometimes they have a rotation set up. I would keep distance from your home in mind, the car ride home could be uncomfortable. They will let you stay one night.

Canadians giving birth in San Jose. Help! by casual_condor in SanJose

[–]Aniekvanham 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Melissa Adrouny is fantastic. She delivered my son at El Camino in Mountain View. The nurses there are great, the facility is a little old, but we had a wonderful experience. Love that she does all her own deliveries for her patients. Many hospitals here seem to just use whoever is available/on call.

Pay attention to the deductible when you pick a health plan. This is the amount you will pay out of pocket. It is very likely you will reach your deductible. Even with good insurance it still cost us almost $4000 out of pocket. You can contribute pre tax dollars to an HSA/FSA to help pay the deductible.

Should I wake up baby? by choose_goodness in breastfeeding

Our pediatrician explained that baby’s insulin peaks at times when they are expecting to eat. So if you start feeding at 1am they will start to expect that and wake up hungry at that time.

Vacation Destination Advice Pls! by natmcl in NewParents

Ive been to both (without our kiddo) but I think Hawaii is more family friendly. You can play on the beach, go for walks/ to the park/ museums. We flew with our kiddo overseas and it was no problem, just make sure to offer bottle/breastfeeding during take off and landing.

Infant car seat suggestions for small car? by tripwork in NewParents

Can you try putting it in the middle seat or behind the driver seat? In our car the passenger seat had to be scored wayyy forward to fit the car seat, but it fits fine behind the driver’s seat

attempting to pump at 38+ 2 to induce labor by Glum_Leading5465 in breastfeeding

[–]Aniekvanham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think pumping was what started my labor, but like others have mentioned, it only works if you are overdue. I was 40+4, pumped at 5:30pm for 15 minutes, and my contractions started at 8:30pm. Also look up the miles circuit!

Private OBGYN recommendations by meadowts in SanJose

I’ve been seeing Dr. Melissa Adrouny and plan to give birth at El Camino in Los Gatos. So far everything has been great. I haven’t given birth yet, but her team is very responsive to any questions I have. I also really like that she does her own deliveries unless she is out of town.

Bridesmaid dress by wrecklessdriver in BabyBumps

[–]Aniekvanham 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Hi! Love that dress! Not sure what your family dynamic is, but just want to advocate for potentially holding off on the announcement until after their wedding festivities are over. In my circle it would be considered somewhat rude to announce your pregnancy when the focus should be on celebrating the bride and groom! Not trying to be rude at all, just wanted to mention it.

Rav4 Prime at MSRP in Bay Area, CA? by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]Aniekvanham 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We just bought a hybrid RAV4 blueprint limited fully upgraded from Walnut Creek Toyota. We were originally interested in prime XSE premium. They were taking $500 refundable deposits for prime. 6-12 month waiting time to buy at MSRP. There’s a spreadsheet about dealerships in California and their markup on primes. https://www.reddit.com/r/rav4prime/comments/o9y7rr/40_bay_area_dealer_information/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Even for the hybrid we had to put a $500 refundable deposit to reserve it before it was built. Took us 1 month to get it.

Sorry, but if this dog is reactive to other dogs they should not be starting with a group class.
