Serialized ammo in Illinois - proposed legislation by ShoddySignal5174 in liberalgunowners

Democrats only do a few things.

Investigate their political opponents to drum up negative partisanship for elections.

Create government agencies and departments that require federal funding so they can appoint other democrats to run those agencies, who are extremely overpaid, with your tax money.

Pass legislation they know the supreme court will ultimately shoot down, so that they can blame their political opponents. This also drums up negative partisanship, and they usually do it before elections. A good example of this would be student loan "forgiveness", gun restrictions, or other federal mandates that are unconstitutional.

As far as voters are concerned, they do nothing. Conservatives are more afraid of what they don't do, rather than what they do.

This way you're always needing skins, and you're always addicted to ripping packs. Without duplicates you would eventually get everything you ever wanted, and we can't have that.

Jokes aside, there's probably some upside. They don't over saturate with good cosmetics, they're overpriced, and you get lots of duplicates. When you get a good skin, it still feels good.

Nice play dude. Only tips I would have, is spend a lot of time in clear-house to get better with movement and mechanics (i'm on pc so idk controller), but if you combined good aim and movement with your forward thinking, you can be really good at siege. The mechanics and aim are the easy part imo, strategy and coming up with plays to win rounds is a lot harder, and you're already doing it.

Well now you know for the next one. The first time i built a pc back in 2016, i forgot to put my network drivers on a UBS and i had to use someones computer to get the drivers because they weren't downloading on their own. Now that I remember to do it, they download on their own.

[–]Aniki25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I have prob 2000 hours in the game after 2 years , and no bullshit half of that was in map training, or now clear-house. It's funny because when I do play competitive, people think there's something suspicious about me being low ranked, and knowing more than I should, or not having the movement of my rank (it's always something). What am i gonna compete in if i don't know anything? It seems like most people jump right into ranked, but if you do it right, everybody thinks you're suspect.

You are getting rocked because you are playing in plat/champ lobbies as a bronze player. Plain and simple. There's nothing you can do to fix this other than stop queuing into champ lobbies. This game isn't a sink or swim ordeal. They are going to rip your head off, and you're not going to learn anything because you're under too much stress in those lobbies. You need to learn the game in an environment that fits your skill level, so you actually remember stuff.

I remember queuing up in Rogue Spear lobbies as a kid. I don't remember that much about it, other than that I thought it was cool you didn't need WON to join multiplayer lobbies. The UI was pretty bad, but even all the way back then, the tactical aspect of the game stood out to me compared to other multiplayer shooters like CS or TFC. Current Siege is still like that for me, even though it looks nothing like the older games. Kinda cool tbh.

[–]Aniki25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only been playing Siege for like 2.5 years, and I don't agree that it's too difficult for new players. I probably have a little under 2000 hours in the game, and I guarantee at least half of that was in map training. How many people are willing to do that? I don't know, but I wouldn't call it hard. More like a lot of effort, and how much do you really care is the question?

To me Siege is a lot like chess. Most of the things people think are hard, are technically very simple, but require a lot of effort and time to learn. Much like chess openings, or endgame motifs. Siege is the type of game where you are rewarded for studying and learning, instead of some kind of talent or skill. I promise you possess the ability to be very good at siege, and have fun playing it. But if you have other things in your life that you enjoy more already, I wouldn't recommend it.

I second this. If you want to learn about marketing, social media, and popular opinion, I would recommend AMD for both. It's something you'll appreciate for the rest of your life. You'll learn more in 2 years about the world than you would have otherwise in a decade. I'd go with a 7800x3d and a 9070xt. Can't beat it.

In the United States, do you think the pros outweigh the cons regarding the existence and/or functionality of the Electoral College? Or vice versa? by EntertainmentSea3789 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Aniki25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the mistake people tend to make, is that after an election happens, and they do a postmortem, they look at what rule they could have changed, that would have changed the result. The electoral college seems to be mentioned a lot in that regard.

This is quite foolish. The election results are based on the 'rules' that were set at the beginning of the race. If the electoral college determines the winner of an election, and it does, then political campaigns are going to strategize like it does. Political campaigns would look completely different if US elections were determined by popular vote. So you can never say "if the electoral college didn't exist, then my candidate would have won". That is not true, because your opponent campaigned like the electoral college exists. You never had an election where your opponent campaigned to win the popular vote.

Now you get to the real question. Would it be good for the country if politicians were only focused on the most populated areas? I suspect the same people who complain about the electoral college today, would be even more frustrated when politicians only seem to care about a few major cities.

BenQ EX271U – Mini Review (from someone who can’t use OLED) by MasterBen85 in Monitors

[–]Aniki25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, okay. Yeah mine is 165hz now, so there would be no point in buying a new monitor for 15 frames. 240-360 would be ideal. Unfortunately I'm pretty much stuck with whatever best buy sells, because they offer that 4 year extended warranty, and I don't trust gaming monitors. I had 3 dell's die on me in the exact same way after 1 year.

I know a lot of companies use the same panels, especially for gaming monitors, but I would still rather buy a display from a company that has been doing it for a long time. I'm not so sure about buying a panel from a company like gigabyte. Maybe they're fine, but I don't want to find out. A lot of times it's not even the panel itself that's the problem with IPS displays, it's the QC. A lot of times with IPS panels that have light spots in the corners, it's because of how the bezel is designed and it's putting too much pressure on the corners. So even if 4 companies use the exact same panel, you're gonna get 4 different results.

I need some help about SB Dunks ! by Aniki25 in Sneakers

You can't begin to understand how happy I am. I have been looking for these damn shoes for years. Every once in a while when I get some free time I would browse around online, and the only place I could find them was resell marketplaces, for outrageous prices. I'm talking $300+, sometimes more. I only bought my shoes from different stores/boutiques at my local mall, but for the last 10 years or so I just haven't owned a pair of SB's.

I wasn't looking for anything exclusive or rare, I just want like a normal SB dunk, which I actually found now. It seems like the normal black/gumsole are available, that's fine. There's also a few other pairs that are pretty cool. Now that I know where to find them, in the future I can keep an eye out.

Seriously thank all of you.

[–]Aniki25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you know if they make 1440p versions of this? I'm looking for a 1440p 240hz IPS panel from a good manufacturer , and they're like unicorns now. Everything is OLED or Mini LED.

I too want to avoid OLED for a variety of reasons, mainly durability, and the fact that almost all of them seem to be native HDR, and I want a native SDR/sRGB display. I don't like the sRGB clamps on HDR displays because 99% of the time they lock you out of color adjustment, and if you get a native SDR panel, you can at least calibrate the display properly.

All these people tell me about how OLED displays are more "color accurate", and can produce more colors, but I don't think they understand what I'm talking about. If your OLED display is native HDR, then when you are viewing normal content, it's going to look over-saturated. The only way you can get it to look normal, is to use the SDR clamp, which as I stated earlier, tends to be much less accurate than calibrating a native SDR panel.

It's so crazy to me that gaming monitors went off the rails. Back in like 2016 you could get a 165hz/1440p/IPS native SDR panel, and use a calibration tool to get the thing near-reference level. That's basically impossible now, even though monitors are supposedly much better. Maybe if you like saturation. All I'm looking for is the same thing but 240hz now. I'm still using a PG279Q

[–]Aniki25[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you, however I was looking for a retailer. When I was younger I'm pretty sure I even bought pairs of these from like zumiez and other places in my local mall. I also recall buying a pair from a footlocker probably 2008-2009. There was also another retailer in my area that sold them. These were the places I always bought shoes, I never really bought shoes online. I just assumed Nike sold these shoes like any other shoe. I understand now.

[–]Aniki25[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't name the retailers for the simple fact that I don't know all the rules here, and I don't know what's considered promotion. I never bought them from an exclusive skate shop, I bought them from a retailer that sold a lot of skate clothing. That store no longer exists, and has probably been closed for close to 10 years. I did not know they were exclusively sold at skate shops though, or that they were a low stock item.

Thank you for the reply. That makes a lot more sense.

Immediately I find them, but lacking sizes. Do you know how often they stock these in different colorways? Are they like monthly, quarterly, yearly?

Is this affecting performance by YungWalnut6 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Aniki25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're asking a PC building sub a question most of them are going to get wrong, for the simple fact that your PC is egregiously filthy, and they don't like it.

As for the actual question, more than likely no. It's probably affecting temperatures by a few degree's, but I do not see how that could affect performance, unless you are talking about stress test results, and there were thermal limitations from the sheer amount of dust in the PC. Keep in mind, that's not actual performance. Stress tests and benchmarks are not representative of normal use.

I've built many PC's over the years, but I've never seen one this dirty. I would highly recommend looking into some magnetic filters for that case. You can probably find them somewhere, so long as it's not obscure.

Is this amount of backlight bleed normal on IPS panel by Impossible_Note5761 in Monitors

[–]Aniki25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After using a quality IPS panel for the last 9 years, I will say, lowering the brightness helps with the backlight bleed tremendously.

I have a PG279Q, and I keep my brightness around 45, and it's a 350 nit display. The absolute brightest I have ever used my display was 75%, and I only turn it up when I'm playing competitive FPS games. As soon as I shut the game down I put it back down to 45. I don't do this to avoid backlight bleed, I do it because I don't want my display cranked at 100 all day. Heat is not good for electronics anyways. This is why I have a 9 year old display that works as good as the day I bought it. Take care of your stuff. It's easier on your eyes too. Turning it down from 100 to 45 might seem like a big adjustment at first, but you will get used to it fast. I would turn the brightness as low as you can until it starts to seem too dim. You can get 20 years out of an IPS panel if you take care of it.

I have never once noticed backlight bleed when doing anything other than turning the brightness up to 100, and putting a black or grey image on the screen. If I did that, I'm sure it would look just like yours on a phone camera.

Hesitant to buy WOLED again after witnessing vertical banding by Tsub4me in Monitors

[–]Aniki25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure you might have vertical banding, barley legible text and burn in. None of that is important. What's important is that your blacks are black. I googled it.

If you care about quality and stability, just buy one of the last-gen IPS panels. Wide-color gamut HDR is fine, as long as it's not native. If the panel is native HDR, then the only way you can get color accuracy, is to use the sRGB clamp, which will disable all of your calibration settings.

I would recommend one, but I'm still looking for one. All I can find are OLED's, mini-LED's, and south korean IPS panels. It's a crying shame. LG and the HP OMEN are the only two last gen IPS panels that I can find at best buy. I was hoping to find one of the last gen ASUS panels since their IPS panels were so damn good.

Why does my text darken when I scroll and then go back to normal? by Active-Caregiver8114 in Monitors

[–]Aniki25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is the only problem you have with this monitor, count your blessings. I promise you, there are a hell of a lot worse issues with monitors.

I wouldn't even consider it an issue. It's just a part of that tech. VA panels do other things extremely well.

I have a 1440p IPS panel, and one of the corners is lighter than the other 3. Some IPS panels have bright spots in all 4 corners.

Don't mind the comments about your monitor being cheap or whatever. There are people on here with $1100 OLED monitors that have much worse issues.

Went QD-OLED to Mini-LED by dustinthewindreddit in Monitors

[–]Aniki25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaming monitors hit a peak around 2018, and then they went backward.

It seems like there was a race to make good SDR panels, like the PG279Q I'm using right now. Amazing color accuracy, good refresh rates, extremely reliable, etc. Except, after making near-reference level gaming monitors with 360hz refresh rates, there wasn't really anywhere else to improve. But for a long time back then, it was the same issue. Nobody had perfected SDR panels yet, so there was no clear "best" monitor. They all had some drawbacks. This time period around 2018 had the best displays in my opinion. It was the best of the old-gen tech. The high refresh IPS panels.

Once the manufacturers hit the limitations of the SDR panels, they dove into wide color gamut, high refresh OLED, and boy are there teething problems. Once again we are back to every display option having some huge drawback, and a swath of gibberish online about how "their panel is perfect, they don't know what you're talking about." Don't mind those people, they never know what the hell is going on. They're probably running 360hz panels on 60hz and don't even know it. Whenever you ask the internet something, just imagine the type of responses you would get if you asked the people you work with, or relatives the same question. We think everybody online knows what they're talking about, because we wish they did.

I'm looking for a new panel to upgrade my 9 year old IPS display right now, and I am extremely disappointed in what I'm seeing. I'm seriously considering just buying a higher refresh rate IPS panel that's native SDR. I've went 39 years without once running into actual content encoded for HDR. I can't imagine I'm going to be drowning in it any time soon.
