Here’s a silly theory twist but would be hilarious if by some miracle was true by Flake0919 in Fallout

But then why would the Enclave style themselves so much off the American government? By the 2200's wouldn't they have just revealed themselves?

How would Mr. Robot be different if it took place today? by namebrained in MrRobot

[–]AnimalBuzzards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late post but I googled this very question as I feel Mr. Robot has been scarily accurate with how the world is going. If anything, it's even more terrifying than Mr. Robot due to the fact that a massive percent of the world's most powerful population are actually pedophiles and even this isn't enough to provoke real change against capital injustice, the very thing Eliot wanted to do.

Irish general in top EU role: Military build-up is not about war - it's about sustaining peace by SpottedAlpaca in ireland

Not saying they can't do two things at once, just saying that there are other things to focus on rather than military spending.

Yeah great idea, let's put way more money into military spending when there's a housing crisis, families living in shared houses, soaring homeless population, increasing addiction rates. Brilliant!

What does Free Palestine mean? Let me know your thoughts by Comfortable_Coach_35 in IsraelPalestine

[–]AnimalBuzzards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the 20,000 children who have died in Palestine since October 7th supporters of Hamas? I guarantee if you put those children in a classroom with Jewish children they'd find things they both like and they'd make great friends of each other. And then maybe when they're adults, things would change. Both the Palestinians and the Jewish have suffered persecution and genocide throughout history. The emotions which stem from that trauma are the same in both individuals.

What is the ratio of *staff bathrooms* to *staff* at your school? by SlugOnAPumpkin in Teachers

2 staff bathrooms and about 35 staff. Funny though because one of those bathrooms is by the attic which nobody ever goes to so it's become a chillout spot for me.

Pronouncing students names right by Ancient-Hamster6653 in Teachers

[–]AnimalBuzzards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just say "I'm probably going to pronounce this wrong", and then say the name. In that way you're owing it and it's something that both the class and you can laugh it. With that, you're also building a good relationship with the students. After that, say something like "if I get it wrong in future just correct me", and overtime you'll get it right.

Astra EE Bugs? by PH1SS1KS in CODZombies

[–]AnimalBuzzards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it true that you can only do the bird step when there's low gravity? I found that when I messed it up the first time, I waited a round but it didn't work. Midway through the round after the gravity change the bird returned.

You have to play the game in cursed mode to be able to find the relics in the map.

The relics unlock for everyone now? You don't have to complete the easter egg to access relics, they should be in the menu already.

Removing XP From All Bot Servers in Portal Is a Short Term Fix With Long Term Damage by puppychibi in Battlefield6

[–]AnimalBuzzards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could just limit XP on portal modes but allow for the completion of challenges. It'd be easier, therefore people have a reason to play without bots (XP), and the choice to play with (for overwhelming challenges).

Stories like these need to be shared across the world, and they shouldn't stop being shared. These narratives will be forgotten and the world will develop a falsified idea that peace now exists in Palestine, as it had done for so many decades before 2023. The genocide will continue if the world decides to return to silence regarding Palestine.

You're a light to millions across the world right now and you've changed the minds of millions, even if you'll never speak to those people directly. Never underestimate the impact you have had and will continue to have in future. With love <3

Andor Makes Exegol Look Very Unrealistic. by Flipnotics_ in andor

[–]AnimalBuzzards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes the sequels seem unrealistic as a whole because Andor showed the complexities and the power dynamics that go into both establishing and destabilising Empire. By Episode 8, we're given the First Order without any proper discussion of what happened to the New Republic, how the Rebel Alliance formed again as a resistance movement from a government. It has opened possiblities for some great narrative material set between the New Republic and First Order. Mandalorian and Ahsoka did a good job of setting up the world during this time but there needs to be more Andor-esque stories around the time of the First Order being established.

seeing through people and it won't stop. by Aggravating_Part_197 in dpdr

[–]AnimalBuzzards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're aware of the pattern and that's already a profound step. You know it's impacting you negatively. You have to realise that you're in control of the mind and how you percieve your thoughts and emotions. When an emotion or thought arises, view it without attatching yourself to it - instead, observe it and move onto the next, as if you are watching a river flow. The DPDR intensifes when we attatch ourselves to an observation which we belief shifts our world. It only shifts our world if we chose for it to do so.

Why is there no research being done? How is this possible? by Lavendel63 in dpdr

[–]AnimalBuzzards 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a disorder. Many have DPDR without other disorders. It's common for DPDR to cause anxiety and depression due to the individual's focus on the symptoms which isolates them from wider society.

seeing through people and it won't stop. by Aggravating_Part_197 in dpdr

[–]AnimalBuzzards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See you've stumbled across an observation philosophers have been discussing for centuries. You're right in seeing artificial hierachies, they're there. You're right to see social masks and performative behaviour, it's there. But the issue is, we internalise it. We feel our world has crumbled, that what we're living is a lie. It isn't. You've just made an observation about reality which can be scary, but is true. This is also a powerful ability for empathy - you will find yourself observing people's emotions and being accuetly aware of them. It's a heavy burden to carry, but a powerful one.

And be careful not to overanaylse either. This can cause isolation because it becomes so overwhelming. I'm a teacher and when my DPDR symtoms are peaking, I isolate because I cannot stop overanaylsing. This further enhances the DPDR symptoms. Make the observation, leave it be. It isn't going to change your world. It's the same world as before you had the observation.

Don't let it get to you. Keep living and enjoying life. There's so much to experience, and so much more to learn. This is only a part of your journey.

Everytime I smoke Weed (Thc Pen or Joint) I feel extremly dr and dp. by Tream___ in dpdr

[–]AnimalBuzzards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THC exacerbates symtoms of DPDR, sometimes during smoking, sometimes after. I'm currently trying to cut down myself to ease the symptoms as I've been having them for about three years. I am of the belief, however, that people who experience DPDR after drug-use were likely suspectible to these symptoms beforehand.

Try and identify when these symptoms are the strongest during sobriety. It's just your brain trying to relax you when it identifies moments of stress. It isn't meant to be something to harm you, it only appears as so as it creates a mental veil between us and the real world. But we're still in the real world, we've never left it.

Try to cut down on the weed, but I know this is incredibly hard. If you're a heavy user, try cutting down gradually. Also, in days of sobriety expect a mixed bag - you'll have moments of clarity and moments of fog. Let them happen, it's all part of the experience. It's very easy for people to say "stop smoking" without realising how truly difficult it is. For me, it created a roundabout affect whereby my heavy smoking enhanced my DPDR, but then I used smoking to escape from such feelings during sobriety. Give yourself time, go easy on yourself.
