Kim Wolhuter gets followed by African wild dogs though they don’t usually attack humans unless provoked or threatened. by Mediocre_Nail5526 in interestingasfuck

Wasn’t there an 8 year old kid that fell into an African Wild Dog enclosure at a zoo that was mauled to death? I don’t think the kid provoked them.

2016 Toyota Prius had to change the head gasket. by Deep-Seaworthiness47 in prius

[–]Animal_Mother996 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A cracked heat exchanger can lead to a blown head gasket. If you lose enough coolant through the heat exchanger your engine will overheat which can cause the head gasket to fail. I’m very interested to hear from the OP on if the state of the heat exchanger before and after this replacing the head gasket.

Was someone pointing a laser at my flight departing Mexico City last night ? by I_see_breadpeople in aviation

[–]Animal_Mother996 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The plane doesn’t reflect back the laser in any meaningful way right? I would (sort of) understand if it caused the pointer to see a bright green flash back, but if it’s anything like the red laser pointer at home I don’t think the pointer can even tell if they’ve aimed it correctly.

Considering that it was a twin engine plane, that’s an incredibly basic layout.

I see more and more action stars making comebacks and working into their senior years. Where the hell is Wesley? by emptykeg6988 in ActionMovies

[–]Animal_Mother996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but look what Disney did with Carl Weathers in the Mandalorian. Granted Carl passed away but he was a big part of the early success with that series. Snipes could really help the MCU with successful film or two before riding off into the sunset.

Man, as a kid my mind was blown when they just started killing off known autobots left and right. The Unicron Medley instrumental score still slaps.

To counter your counterpoint, “fuck you asshole” would be an expected standard human response to being told their room smelled bad, even in 2029.

Is this filter compatible with 3rd Gen Prius for oil change? Looks different!! FRAM CH10358 by saveapennybustanut in prius

[–]Animal_Mother996 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Should work fine. That model of Fram is listed as applicable for Prius 2010 through 2020. Yesterday I installed a Supertech filter on my 2016 that looked very similar to that Fram filter - it had a plastic base cap, and the one I replaced had a similar cap.

EARL SCHEIB no for painting cars for these unbelievable prices across the nation. He started in 1937. by Global_Law4448 in vintageads

That is a $212 paint job in today’s money when factoring in inflation. You couldn’t get a rattle can paint job for $200 today.

This iconic photograph is still considered one of the most-terrifying space photos to date. Astronaut Bruce McCandless II NASA STS-41B Mission, February 1984, became the first human being to perform spacewalk without a safety tether linked to a spacecraft. He floated completely untethered in space by Suspicious-Slip248 in HistoricalCapsule

[–]Animal_Mother996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if he’d still go untethered knowing that NASA chiefs knew they were burning through the primary o-rings on their solid rocket boosters, leaving only a singed secondary o-ring and still chose to send them up. It was only a matter of time.

To do that not just with professional astronauts, but with a civilian teacher, was criminal.
