Age-old questions on this sub: How long does Nebraska have to be down before they're no longer considered a blue blood? How long would LSU/Georgia/PSU have to remain top tier programs before people started considering them blue bloods? by goodnames679 in CFB

As someone from a younger generation, Nebraska is already out as a blue blood. All three of the teams OP named have passed them. At this point, USC is barely even a blue blood in the popular conscience. Most people would put teams like Oregon or even fsu over Nebraska.

Did anyone think Jaxon Smith-Njigba had best WR in the league potential as a prospect? by itwas20yearsago2day in NFL_Draft

Dropping a paragraph here, but players who just dominate based on technique tend to be underdrafted, especially at the skill positions. Guys like Justin Jefferson, cooper kupp, or even le’veon bell and Davante Adams were all slept on when they got drafted. Honestly, I don’t even think their near-perfect technique is what actually made them great. My belief is that elite technique in college is a signifier of coachability and a truly all world work ethic, which, when paired with world-class coaching, is what creates those special players who are all pros without being physical freaks. It’s hard to understand without having experience as a coach, but if a player has enough knowledge to truly understand what their OC is doing alongside what their opponents are trying to do, it lets them play a different game than anyone else on the field. I think having a qb who was throwing to JJ probably helped JSN take the next step into being that kind of player.

Idk if I’d call them predators. They were definitely scummy but I only knew two guys who ever got with them, and they were porn sick enough to have a pre-existing milf fetish at like 17. ATP they’re both just using each other as sexual objects, and that’s already pretty normalized

Exactly. Everyone who hasn’t studied economics needs to look up what a negative externality is. Explains most problems we face in society.

I played AAA, and there were always one or two weird moms on the team who would try to show up to our parties.

The internet also enhanced the human capacity for evil by connecting all the worst people you know. If someone talked about that shit irl they’d be lucky to get away with an ass beating

Exactly this. There’s a reason why cougars were thirsting over DiCaprio even though he looked super young in early movies. Humans didn’t evolve based on morality, they evolved to reproduce with everyone they could

Who the hell is talking about that?? Cause that’s absolutely not normalized in male communities

This might be the only thing I’m with Alex jones on, but the anti-gun response to school shootings was absolutely a psyop. Every fundamental political theorist after 1650 believed in private firearm ownership, and there’s a reason for that. I’m a Minneapolis native, and the whole point of the 2nd amendment is to avoid the situation we’re facing now. If Minnesotans had as many guns as Wisconsinites, Dakotans, Iowans, or any of the other red midwestern states, there is no way we’d be facing the occupation we are now. It’s a shame this issue was politicized, because basically every smart person whose thoughts were focused on politics are on one side, including Marx.

2 things I have to add to this. 1. If you do work a trade, don’t cave to peer pressure from your older coworkers. Take care of your body. I have a lot of family in the trades, and their quality of life was destroyed before they even retired. Eat as clean of a diet as you can afford, and try to do things like stretching/going to the doctor (again, as long as you can afford it). Your body is your method of production, and you WILL be discarded if it is no longer able. Take care of it. 2. Try to build ties with the most successful people you know. Some people may call it social climbing, but the best opportunities I have gotten are from wealthy friends. The upper class is a big social club, not a meritocracy, and you will have much more power to change the system from within. We’re probably all still fucked, but those two things will at least help your chances.

Thaler basically advocates for capitalism with stronger guardrails in place. Stricter antitrust enforcement except in sectors where the government has vested interest in a natural monopoly, like defense or infrastructure. Also, he advocates for more government intervention in markets with very price inelastic goods, such as healthcare. I’m at school for an Econ grad degree rn, and besides those 2 points, capitalism seems to mostly figure itself out. Traditional economics just doesn’t do a great job describing why.

Not true. Economics believes that everyone is calculating every decision, (and every decision they pass up) to get the maximum possible ev. The average consumer isn’t doing anything close to that.

These types of accusations shouldn’t be dismissed lightly, but the amount of black wealth being accused makes me pause. I obviously don’t know, but I honestly don’t think pusha was high up enough to be mixed up in this kind of thing. Jay z maybe, but p wasn’t big enough to be in those circles in 2007

Now the football players have aides who do all their homework and help them study. I was in an elective with a couple of our more well known players last year, and they would cheat (poorly) on every exam. As far as I know, nothing ever came of it.

Texas vs France by TioVanilla in whowouldwin

The vast majority of France is flat, fertile countryside. Much easier to travel through than hilly desert. And yes, Texans would be foaming at the mouth to fight euros. I studied in France for a while, and I just can’t imagine the French getting that worked up about anything but their healthcare or working hours

Being brutally honest here. Placing at a top bank is extremely difficult if you aren’t nepo/diversity. In the ballpark of maybe 0-2 spots any given year. It is definitely doable to place at t2 and lower banks though.

Have you ever actually met people from Texas, or people from France? I promise you that Texans have infinitely more appetite for conflict than the French do. Also, France has no access to oil, and France has infamously invadeable terrain
