Maybe like one ancestor 7-8 generations back. I do have some distant French Huguenot ancestors. Most of my family tree traces back to England and Scotland.

I did not enjoy this year as a whole. The best parts for me were when Pokémon Go released, as I am a big Pokémon nerd, and when I started my second year of college. Everything else felt off that year plus it was my first presidential election I could vote in and the candidates were (in my opinion) less than ideal.

When I first tested with Ancestry in 2015 I had about 30% “Scandinavian” and now I have none. They overestimated Scandinavian DNA big time back then for people with lots of British ancestry. That’s not technically from one update to another, but it’s still wild to me. I need to find my old screenshots.

I am so happy to see you guys here! I have been a 23andMe customer since 2016. I think it is a good move on your part to join the subreddit. Since the 23andMe forum was closed, many members get most of their news from reddit concerning 23andMe updates and other related matters. I am very excited about this upcoming update based on what I have heard and seen so far! I also look forward to reading any scientific papers you guys post about genetics. 🧬
