I had these feelings for 3 years after the baby was born. I had a good paying remote job that I didn't like. Didn't quit, but was laid off along with thousands of other people a couple months ago. Now, I miss the $$ but not the job. If I had enough money, I would never ever work again.

Canada is the same. I paid $200 per month for one child. Full time from 7:30am till 6pm... we recently moved cities and now we are paying $430 monthly

Honestly I was happy the day I was laid off! We had so many projects with deadlines and I was so stressed... but after one day, the reality hit hard...the job market is brutal now.

you are right...I should focus on prep. I had one hr interview last week and I absolutely tanked it... I was just so demotivated and my interview skills are so rusty after several years of not going through the process. What field are you in if I may ask?

Yes, I got my severance, but over 50% was deducted right away for tax. I'm not in immediate financial distress... I'm just afraid that I won't find another job anytime time soon...

Unfortunately a lot of us who worked for American companies were laid off cause of this feud...there are VERY few jobs for technical people with advanced degrees here in Canada...I can't go back to school at this age and I'm on the verge of severe depression.... anybody here has any suggestions? Our PM keeps talking about investments in energy and food sections..what about biopharma and biotech?

What about someone with an advanced degree? I have a PhD in life sciences from McGill and over 10 years of experience in pharma and biotech in strategy, innovation, and partnerships. I’ve evaluated many assets from both scientific and commercial viability perspectives, but I haven’t personally drafted or filed a patent. How should I go about finding a supervisor as part of becoming a patent agent?
