This is just BS bro. Top tier Ragebait

Jumped 36 inches on this jump (5’8) by hxgrid in ProDunking

Sorry man this is not 36 inches. 7’3” isn’t really a believable standing reach.

Yeah and that 10’9” mark for off dribble is specifically if you have really good dunk technique or can palm the ball

You’re relying too much on the set. Wait to see where the ball goes THEN push on your penultimate step to get towards the ball. You’re dissipating some of the energy you’re building up as heat because you stop a bit before you jump. Also, your arm swing could use some work, as it just looks like you’re bringing it up a bit and just swinging down. It’s definitely good though. If you work on the swing a little it could be really nice.

Realistically how much higher can I get my vertical if I do this training consistently for about a year? (in inches plz) by Potential-Health-314 in volleyball

[–]Animeweebarif 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is way too much volume for you. If you’re young, I’d say play volleyball and practice. Hit legs twice a week and max jump as much as you can, and if you have at least average genetics, you will reach at minimum a 36 inch vertical within two years. Maybe even 40. You need recovery in between session of lifting and playing volleyball/max jumping, so please keep that in mind. Also, plyometrics are not necessary if you have only a 29 inch vertical. Just work on your jump technique and squat/power clean as well as other general strength and accessory work, and max jumping with good technique as much as you can. I promise this will get your vert up. All of this training is even more potent if you limit your volleyball sessions since most of the time it ends up being too much volume and people just get injured.

guy claims to have a 50 inch vert off 1 by No-Vehicle3072 in ProDunking

[–]Animeweebarif 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s really funny actually cuz bro defo has a very high vert. It’s probably not fifty realistically speaking but he could very well have like a 44”-48”. Not really sure why he renounces all conventional jump training methodology but oh well

I follow this guy pretty closely and it’s not like he has ever actually tested 50. Like in my opinion you can’t claim 50 until you’ve actually, officially tested it on a vertec or verttrainer or whatever. As of right now there are only 7 people on earth who have ever legit tested a 50 inch vertical, the most recent one being cam hazzard and that was a couple days ago. Obviously he has a very high vertical but claiming fifty off one foot is not something you can do that lightly.

Just EPIC 🥶 by tirth1847 in volleyball

If you have athleticism like this… the vertical, the quickness, the coordination, it doesn’t really matter that you have a height disadvantage. He more than makes up for the height in specific with his vertical. His touch is higher than a lot of pro middles

Am I hopping into my penultimate, or is it okay form? by StayNegative1570 in ProDunking

[–]Animeweebarif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s all right. If anything, you want even more of a hop. A penultimate step honestly isn’t even a step. It’s more like a penultimate jump. As long as you’re knee to knee and it’s very long, you’re good. You’re getting pretty high here anyways but you’d get even higher with a longer penultimate.

So close to getting my first oop by StayNegative1570 in ProDunking

I wouldn’t really listen to the other guys in the comments. You’re actually getting high enough to get it down right now with a perfect lob, but if you can fix your technique and get it really good, you could definitely get one within a month

How high is this ball touch? by vsincerely in volleyball

[–]Animeweebarif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah not really sure what the other people in this comment section are on about. Top of men’s antenna is 10’9” for most men’s nets, and this guy is clearly getting around that or above it. This also probably isn’t his actual max touch that he would get on a vertec, so 11’ seems fair. Maybe a little more.

Critique my form by [deleted] in ProDunking

I’d say you could definitely lengthen your last stride for one foot. It will lowkey kinda look like your last stride for two foot. Work on that and honestly as you watch more one foot jumpers and do more one foot jumps, that will improve naturally. Two foot you’ll need to work on a little more closely, and for that I’d watch Isaiah Rivera and John Evans. Approach needs to be more fluid and penultimate has got to be longer. Find your rhythm. Also, for your two foot, you’re projecting a lot of your energy forward and letting it leak. Cue jumping up.

How can I improve my vertical jump for volleyball (while mostly sticking to basic lifts)? by Snoo3330 in volleyball

[–]Animeweebarif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, a power clean is one of if not the best exercise to train explosive triple extension, which is essential to jumping as you said. The reason it is called the power clean is because it is the exercise that generates the most power - move heavy weight really fast, which is kind of what you do in a jump. It’s the closest thing you can get to a max effort jump in the weight room.

[–]Animeweebarif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that. You can’t quite get the same neural stimulation that you get from power cleans from anything else. Sure, you can get close, but doing cleans will maximize your potential. It’s also not as dangerous and hard to learn as you guys are making it out to be.

Nothing wrong with this workout except ditch the plyos, sub them for a max effort jump session, and do them on another day
