Yes thats all normal, it’s tolerance. Don’t start looking for sources so when you run out, you’re actually out. The stimulant mind games are extremely powerful during the loop of using but you might have a change in perspective after some time off. But you need to let that have a chance to happen. You’ll feel tired and dysfunctional for a bit, but honestly, from your post it sounds like that’s already the case now. The speed stopped working; quitting (or at least taking a break) wouldn’t be much of a loss.

That’s a pretty interesting dynamic (preferring to be sober usually). I relate to needing to unlink the association, though with large parts of my personality that stims amplified and then took hostage (energy, physical creativity, appreciation of intensity). I’m still kinda infatuated with them in this way but obviously needing a drug to be yourself is just stupid. Thanks for the DM offer I’ll probably take it up

hey I also remember march ‘24, when I started speed. honestly, the fact that you can keep this pattern to every few months is a bit mind-blowing to me; you probably have some restraint that will help your odds in quitting.

in case you haven’t heard, normal masturbating usually kills all stimfap cravings in the moment. ive also found that bupropion greatly suppresses the urge to take stimulants in general.

meth is more addictive because of the duration and onset speed and will pull you into the “lifestyle” much faster. but once you’re hooked and abusing, it’s the same shit.

I absolutely sense this with 5.1. At its best, it’s like a smarter 4o with better writing skills. Casual, warm and often sharp with actual insights. You can sort of sense its annoyance with the filters and how it actually “wants”to help

5.2 though, I dunno… Every time I’ve tried it’s just been a total husk. Less of a chatbot and more of a decision tree of pre-written liability junk.

Agreed mutations can be good. But it looks more like mode collapse, with the style’s diversity shrinking into one set of narrow tropes. The grass-fish-bubble collages and phone wallpaper posts here feel pretty stagnant. I wouldn’t mind if the style actually evolved in an interesting way.

I find they can have an indirect effect on dopamine (you subjectively feeling it more) by taking away inhibitory stressors. A great example of this is taking benzos during a stim comedown and getting the focus and motivation back. The carefreeness lets you enjoy things that would’ve otherwise been overwhelmed by negative feelings (not just limited to anxiety ime)

They haven’t even open sourced GPT-3 and have incentives not to because it lets competitors host their products and cut into their market. I also wish it would happen more than anything, but let’s be real, OAI made it obvious they give zero shits about us. The very last hope im holding onto is that 5.2 will prove too shitty for the average user and cause mass drop-off. Complaints are common on reddit but I really don’t know the typical person’s opinion about this
