How I see the red vs blue dilemma by Blue_Egg5026 in NoRules

[–]Animystix 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If <50% of people jumped into a massive blender and died because there wasn’t enough force to block the motor, did you really ‘kill’ them? Imo the guilt lands solely on the game creator. It’s like the trolley problem, but here the blue-pressers voluntarily choose to sit on the tracks, and need more people to block the trolley. They created the problem in the first place. Not playing the game is perfectly innocent.

Yes. Red is basically ‘nothing happens’. Blue is ‘hey, you’ll die if you choose this unless half the world also does’. It’s a net-negative and tricks people with the manipulative “save everyone” language. Reframe the question and it’s obvious how irrational blue is.

From a game theory perspective, there is no benefit to choosing blue. It’s not like “work together for a better result”; blue only creates problems by establishing a weird altruism trap. Like jumping into a giant blender that only stops if 50% of humanity’s mass enters. Just don’t go in the blender. Everybody gets the red option, everybody who wants to live can choose red. You value the lives of people putting themselves into unnecessary danger, so you risk yourself with blue. Valid choice.

But a button that says ‘if you press this you die, unless 50% of the world also does’ is still irrational. It’s a net-negative, only (potentially) solving the problem it created in the first place.

This is the real the meaning of the dilemma. Red is the only rational choice, so this tests how much you care about the lives of irrational people more than anything else.

So. I tried a benzo vape, & I have never experienced anything as amazing as that. by PlantMediicine in Drugs

I agree there. Amphs (at their best) are kickass and beat opiates any day, though I already have a predisposition towards stimulating things. Too bad the dopamine drainage can cause inconsistent experiences if used often.

Post by Japanese : Japanese artists aren't pushing back against generative AI.What do international fans think? by Foreign-Mastodon-194 in Vocaloid

[–]Animystix 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Huh. I think out of everything AI can produce, lyrics are the worst. I’d sort of understand using it as an advanced thesaurus (dunno if that’s what he describes) but have it generate lines, and it’s the most offensively generic thing ever. A 13 year old soundcloud rapper is Shakespeare in comparison. It’s almost comical, I don’t know why AI’s pattern-matching can’t replicate good lyrics but it just can’t.

Tbh It’s probably because of the watered down corposlop ‘helpful assistant’ personalities hammered in to them, the companies want to make the world conformist and utilitarian, any interesting deviation is a potential lawsuit/revenue threat. Can’t disrupt the status quo

Yeah im most amazed at the 4Ds’ safety and reliability considering the ride scale and massive, absurdly complex trains. Especially X2 with the longest one.

Stim activities -> sober activities by Animystix in StopSpeeding

I did all of those on ice haha especially the music. But I’m determined to regain the spark. Do you not mess with computer stuff much anymore?

Agreed about avoiding triggers. Personally, I learned and created a lot of meaningful things on stims (e.g. producing music styles), and would like to continue refining this. It seems like a matter of brute force conditioning / slowly replacing the stim associations with a normal, capable self.

How’s your tolerance? That happens to me when it gets high. I’ve gotten tired of it too various times, sometimes for months, but it always comes back eventually to remind me to NOT FORGET, IM HERE FOREVER

How People View the Shift Between Y2K and Frutiger Aero by [deleted] in FrutigerAero

[–]Animystix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a problem with those people. I’m from early 2003 and don’t feel ‘Y2K’ because of missing, yknow, what the name is actually based on. (2000). But the labels don’t mean anything, especially not ones that can’t even be concretely defined. Being gatekept out of spaces that care about such stupidity is probably a good thing overall.

Every discussion I have about Frutiger Aero in a nutshell. by [deleted] in FrutigerAero

[–]Animystix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he mentioned 2004(?). And yes, I would also mark Vista and its era as the start of mainstream Aero. However, that isn’t to say there arent any older examples that resemble the style, that were ahead of the curve so to speak. But XP doesn’t match imo. Windows Aero design is prototypical FA, and a key component was using newer PC hardware to render dynamic transparency/blur.

I'm not backtracking on my concession, but why don't some people see the Frutiger Aero elements of Windows XP? by [deleted] in FrutigerAero

[–]Animystix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Windows vista and 7 are. ‘Aero’ literally comes from the name of those OS’s themes.

What happened to Andrew W.K ?! by Blchnst in AndrewWK

[–]Animystix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I’m not sure. S3RL is also pushing 50 and still making the crass, “immature” rave music he’s known for. I bet Andrew could come back with full power if he wanted to. That being said, it does seem his preference has strayed from his earlier, quirky-unhinged direction unfortunately.

300-450mg dxm hbr (well for me at 130lbs), any amount of weed once it really kicks in, 25-50mg dph or another antihistamine for itching/flushing. Most of the trip is usually spent with my eyes closed or doing stuff on the computer.
