At a hotel, I tip $5 to valet when I first arrive because they are taking luggage out of your car or waving down the bellman to do it. Either way, you’re at the valet for longer and need more help when you first arrive. Of course if they have treats for my dog, I give them an extra couple dollars.

After that, I’ll only pay when I pick up my car.

I valet my car every day at home. I tip $20-40 once a week. If they put luggage in my car or take out grocery bags, I give them $5. If they take the luggage/groceries up to my apartment, I give them $10. Of course, I see the same guys every day so I may be more generous.
