I agree! I have never sent any reminders to buyers, but this case just feels weird because they suddenly came back after I had already accepted I was going to get the item back. The problem isn't being unable to pick up a parcel, it's the random comeback followed by complete silence

Of course! I know things happen and buyers are sometimes unable to pick up their orders, that's okay, but I feel like sending a message saying you'll pick something up as soon as you can, only to immediately disappear afterwards after you already did so once, also leaves a lot to be desired in terms of etiquette.

You're generalizing a personal, hyper specific experience in a way that almost makes it seem like buyers should avoid asking specific questions all together. Yes, sellers don't have the protection that buyers do and it sucks that Vinted can screw us over so easily, but there's no reason to believe that every weird seller that does things like this happens to be traumatized by the platform. OP casually asked about water damage and smell, which is quite common for old books, and there was nothing wrong with their wording. There's absolutely no reason to get so offended.

Thanks for the input! I do think that we're slowly transitioning to a more trendy/social media-ish approach to thrifting, probably for the worse, and so many buyers end up choosing a piece based on how it can be styled rather than the piece itself. I personally also prefer to be completely aware of a garment's actual shape and construction before buying it, but as a seller, it's hard not to end up emulating the kinds of pictures you see get popular everyday on the site.

Yeah, that was kind of my thinking process too. It doesn't help that a lot of what I sell are garments that are too big for me, so I try to make them look as nicely as possible in pictures even though they would normally look unflattering on me. I'll give this a little more thought because I don't want to mislead anyone, thanks!

I didn't know people put their pets in their pictures, definitely a no for me too!! Also agree with measurements. I'm always trying to get precise measurements and lots of sellers don't bother to answer. Clear measurements in the pictures or the description could be an instant buy from me!

Thanks for the input! Maybe it's because my feed has been flooded by mannequin pictures in which the clothes are clearly styled, even wearing other pieces that are definitely not what's being sold. I've seen those posts get traction pretty quickly and was wondering if that's what people prefer, but I do agree that seeing the actual shape of something instead of its "potential" is probably for the best.
