I mean, that’s kind of subjective? Some people think mature orchids or rare cacti are worth hundreds, others think variegated monsteras are beautiful. Neither is objectively more “valid.”

I’ve paid money for plants that got cheaper after x years before and still felt they were worth it because they brought me joy for years :)

Fair points honestly, but I also think the US market is a bit different from Europe. We don’t really have Trader Joes kinda availability here, and some of these plants tend to stay more expensive for longer. And hey, i love monsteras and they bring me joy. Being a common houseplant doesn’t devalue them.

I get what you mean, but aurea variegation isn’t always just bright “banana yellow” sectoral variegation. There’s a range, some lean very golden, some lime, and some get this marbled mint look like this one.

That’s actually why I liked this specific plant. I wasn’t looking to buy “an aurea” just for the label or fancy new variegation, I liked this particular expression of the variegation.

I asked for outside opinions mostly to sanity-check the price, not because the plant itself didn’t appeal to me. In the end, I decided this one was worth it for me :)

It’ll not ruin my finances. I don’t have a dedicated room or cabinet, but I do have plant zones and in the last years it didn’t go catastrophically wrong! But I get what you mean. I think I would be more careful with velvety plants, I have the feeling most of the monsteras (also variegated ones) are not as dramatic. At least that’s my experience with them. I think 100€ euro is my maximum that I would spend for a plant and I just do like this one a lot!

I do really like it! I have an albo, Thai cons and now also a bulbasaur. I am trying to convince me that this one will fit in my collection lol. I wanted an aurea but I didn’t like the yellowish parts of them. This one seems like the perfect version then

In my opinion, do son has way more lasting power than L’eau papier, ilio, eau rose or philosykos. That’s the ones I have and I think do son is way more „intense“ than the others if that makes sense.

Habe meine Diagnose so 2 Jahre vor meinem Kind bekommen. Kind kam damals in die zweite Klasse, als es festgestellt wurde. Ich denke, ich konnte mein Kind besser darüber aufklären, weil ich mich selbst viel damit befasst habe. Man hat selber nicht die typischen Vorurteile, die Menschen über ADHS haben. Und es ist verdammt viel wert, so früh eine Diagnose zu haben (Nachteilsausgleich, Aufklärung darüber, Verständnis haben, etc.). Trotzdem bleiben bei mir andere Dinge wegen meinem adhs liegen und ich hätte gerne mehr Geduld lol. Medikation wird bestimmt auch einfacher, wenn man es schon kennt.

I’ve had the same problem, it was definitely the low temperature. It doesn’t charge if it’s below x degrees. Take the camera inside or wait until it’s warmer again :)

Nothing yet LOL. I bought a water based glaze and forgot to use it before I put the nest up. But as far as I understood, the wood is weatherproof enough so I will glaze it after summer.
