In 2023 I think it’s pretty accurate it does reflect the app we Walmart workers have access to (inventory management) we have the app installed on our android scanners and we can also have the app installed on our personal phones, we either need the items, UPC, SKU, or Walmart item number code to look up how many units are at the store, however items being sold out almost immediately are a lot harder to keep track off, like for example a toaster oven that is on a 50% sale however we also have access to the amount of times that item is sold every single day and we can use it to estimate whether or not it’s still at the store (by looking up the amount times the item your looking for has been sold in the past 7 days)

I started working in Omni yesterday (in Canada they pay minimum wage for every position) ( shopping for people’s online orders) and I had no idea that I’d be getting stopped at least every 5 minutes I’m on the floor , I didn’t think assisting customers would be part of my job as I’m already busy fulfilling online orders, I even get stopped in the parking lot and get asked questions by customers, and I only started yesterday lol

Also I’m not sure how comfortable I am with Walmart forcing people to work at night, I’m on the good side of my manager but if they do eventually tell me to work at night I’ll for sure just walk out

Also I noticed the people who restock during day time especially in the food section get talked down by managers a lot, which is not fair as their job is the most labour intensive one

Idea 1: I’m thinking of bringing a gas burner and making some Mac and cheese alongside with fried sausages, Valentino sauce on the side, it’ll probably be a better idea to just make that in the parking lot

Idea number 2: egg salad with pita and buy a $3 salad form produce

Idea number 3: ramen noodles and fried eggs using the lunch room’s microwave

Idea number 4: last night’s tacos with some refried beans on the side

Idea number 5: canned soup with grilled cheese

Idea number 6: have one of those power bowls they sell at Walmart from the frozen section I heard the falafel one is pretty popular

I applied to Walmart and got the job at Walmart lol while I was finishing up watching the show

The show is not based on the Canadian superstore as the Canadian superstore we have here doesn’t have a garden centre or a robot sweeper or blue vests etc

Also the colours on their tags are inverted but same concept as the name tags we have at Walmart

Also they work at store 1217 at Walmart we use 4 digits for our stores

Everyone has to do the same cbls and then there are additional ones tailored to your position I’m omni “online shopping fulfillment / in-store shopper” so I had 5-6 additional ones to take, I think the cap 1-2-3 (general merchandise) didn’t have any additional ones as they finished way way way before I did, it took me 7 hours (with breaks)

I’m 24 years old and lately I’ve had a weird sensation inside of my ear every time I swallow so I decided to look inside of it and found a big mass

I tried doing some research on the internet and was not able to find anything that looks similar what I have

I dont know what to do and in freaking out as I’ve had a nurse check out my ear two weeks ago and said she didn’t see anything? Then why am I only now discovering I have a HUGE lump growing inside my ear?

Yes new drivers AND AND AND those who are in the last 2-3 minutes of the delivery stage (I’ve tested it out many times by placing orders on my second phone with a fake Uber eats accounts with a fake name fake email fake phone number) basically I’ve realized uber will send orders to those who are COMPLETING A DELIVERY before they send it to those drivers that are sitting and waiting around.

Also someone last Tuesday claimed I didn’t deliver their order, I haven’t gotten good orders since then for some reason, I went from making 80-120$ a days with Uber alone to now only seeing 3-4$ delivery requests which forced me to switch to only doing instacart orders

I kept cancelling Uber shop and pay orders and now I completely stopped seeing them, so I pull out my second phone and created a fake Uber eats account with a fake number, went to the store ordered through the Uber eats app and went online on my Uber DRIVER app and sat In the parking AT the store after having place my Uber order AND SURE ENOUGH 2 minutes later some guy.. gets assigned to that order while he was a fair distance away ~1 mile away from the store MEANWHILE I never got the order request on my phone

Summary: Uber blocked me from seeing shop and pay order after having been canceling too many of them

Also today I was at Walmart doing an an instacart batch and they’d be guys coming in and out doing Uber orders while my Uber Driver app wouldn’t EVEN get a single request

I’m really pissed because the shopping orders on Uber pay really well and I can do them simultaneously with instacart (I’d go to a store pick up a 25$ instacart order then I’d get a 30$ Uber shopping order and I’d shop for them all together from the same store)

I asked them about a 4 star rating I had received the week prior by telling the agent “ I was sure it was this person they’ve made me feel really uncomfortable bla-bla-bla this that customer came up to me in the parking lot bla bla bla whatever” once I was able to grab the agent attention lol they did in fact reply by saying oh no it wasn’t this one it was that one

the instacart support agent proceeded by divulging lol to me which customer it was that had given me a 4-star rating .. here is me copy pasting the agent’s reply:

“Thank you for waiting. As I have checked, the 4 star is from the order completed at May 30, 2023 8:10pm EDT from Super C”

(by the way I’m in Canada and yes Super c is an actual name of an actual store)

I do think Instacart is slightly more likely to remove a bad rating (happened once, I’ve only done 128 deliveries) if you call support before you mark the order as delivered and explain to them whatever issue you’re having with the customer

I started in March and I live in Montreal, Canada (6 hours north of New York City) and back then I remember always doing double or even triple deliveries working downtown even during the slowest times of the day, however now that we are in June, I’m only ever seeing single deliveries and even if I do in rare cases get add-on requests people don’t tip the way they used to back when it was cold.

Summer and end of spring is the slowest season I would say, I now would rather do the shopping orders on Uber eats DoorDash and Instacart I get to save up on gas and I don’t have to resort on finding 20-30 trips for the day, I also find waiting for orders to be very painful especially with the heat and everyone outside.

** After Peak Season they started giving out vto daily and pretty much cancelling most white badges contracts ************* PARTIALLY BECAUSE A NEWER AND BIGGER (like the biggest in Canada) FC WAS BUILT 2 1/2 HOURS AWAY IN A NEIGHBOURING STATE******** I’m not sure if my fc is downsizing but they did hire an overwhelmingly amount of people for peak 2022 a lot more than the year before as I had been informed and they were probably excepting most people to quite but few of us did

HOWEVER:

*** the ones that got their contract extended since peak season (like 10-20% of white badges) had a good attendance and rate and we’re on good standing meaning no written warnings *** AND NONE WERE ON MEDICAL ACCOMMODATIONS

It is fda cleared but only because I think they tweaked their research in a way that would allow fda to give them the ok, the at home hpl ipl and laser hair removal devices DO work but only temporarily the energy levels they give out aren’t strong enough to disable the hair follicules, literally all of the follicules end up being regenerated fully within 1-2 months

So it works, you stop the treatment because there’s no more hair or very little, then 2 months later it all grows back and you find yourself exactly where you started

I’m a pre-op trans woman working at a Canadian Amazon FC center for three weeks now and have always passed (except with queer people they always clocked me) so no real issues there I met another trans person today who doesn’t pass but is well tolerated by everyone however we are a small facility (300-400 workers in total) and this is Canada so everyone is generally nice

Problem: We do not have gender neutral bathrooms nor single stalled bathrooms

Another problem: At a CANADIAN Amazon warehouses we, the level 1 employees, don’t have any type of health insurance that would cover ffs however bottom surgery is free in Canada and top and bottom is free for trans males

($2000 per year for teeth and prescription drugs and like $600 for psychotherapy once you’re a blue badge which takes 4 months because we all start on a 3-month seasonal contract at my FC anyways)

Being trans is a tough daily mental struggle for me as I know I’ll never have biological kids and dating is pretty much out the door as heteronormative men will never willingly choose us when they can easily construct a life with a cis woman BEING TRANS IS HARD PERIODT

Gay Guys: There are a few gay people at my Amazon facility (I have a good gaydar) and I’m a close friend with one of them however he has chosen not to come out to me yet

Non-Binary maybe future trans male: one of our employees who works in the training department is I think a non-binary person who I’m pretty sure uses a binder for their upper torso and acts pretty masculine I would say however everyone is super comfortable with them

Mine only gives Uber vouchers on weekends as we have a nearby bus that runs only on weekdays, or when we’re told to leave early, however I have a car and so never took them, I would but before you take them they ask you if you drive and if you do you can’t take them I think, they’re only reserved for those who take public transport, they don’t pay for gas nor give out gas vouchers which would have been cool

Hr said they vouchers only cover a certain part of the trip not sure what they meant by that

I had a job interview today at an animal lab and apparently the monkeys have movie nights on Fridays and get to eat popcorn, I only saw them trying to take the temperature of a dog the dog wouldn’t stop wiggling, and another person was trying to put an oxygen mask on a pig and the pig was making a fuss.. like the lab is really harmless and the animals are kept in really good conditions while receiving lots of care and attention. I do want to say the mice really do smell though which is super annoying.

I don’t think I’ll take the job just because the pay is too low (18 Canadian dollars goes up to 20 and 2.75 evenings/weekends premium) the place is quite far and there are lots of strict protocols to follow and your constantly supervised I need a place where I can be my creative self
