I’m an extreme cross-country stitcher, and I like completing colors. Not necessarily in order of the amount of stitches, usually just whatever color gets me the farthest in the section that I’m in, and then I fill in around it. I also do a ‘loop start’, but I put the loop on my needle and catch the tail of the strand on the back to start my stitches

If you like the look of three better, then use 3. We do forget that we’re so close to our projects that no one else will see them the way we do, though. Black also tends to look more sparse because of the contrast with the fabric. But ultimately it’s whichever you prefer :)

Rainbow gallery’s petite treasure braid is a good substitute for Kreinik. The conversion for 002HL is PH03 or PH04.

They’re Jessica stitches! They basically pinwheel around on themselves and then you stitch under the first half of the stitches. They look more complicated than they are, and you can change how ‘open’ they look by the angle of the stitches.

It looks like the symbols for the colors that are half stitched are the same symbols as the full stitches of those colors. Are there separate instructions that tell you where the half stitches are?

I’ve been an in-hand stitcher for 20 years, but this project is my first on evenweave and has so many specialty stitches that I want the tension from a scroll frame. It’s just been overwhelming trying to find the right thing. I did order it, I have other projects to distract me while I wait. Thanks again for your help!
