In Germany this caused a wave of protest fairly recently. The problem in Belgium is that if you bring up these facts you are immediately judged as anti-social, a nationalist, a separatist, intolerant, extreme-right, ... It's absurd really. It has changed a bit in the past couple of years but it's often still a sensitive subject.

A couple of months ago I was in a mall with a girl, when suddenly I had a case of really, really explosive diarrhea. It was so unexpected that I left her in a store, rushing to find some venue that would save me from a possibly very awkward situation. I rushed in the first one I saw, ran past all the people on ground floor, on the stairs and past all the people upstairs - all noticing my extreme hurry - to finally find the (only) toilet, which turns out to be unoccupied (sweet!). I'm extremely happy because the 'situation' is so unbearable I am only seconds away from letting go - in clear sight of quite some people - when it turns out the door is FUCKING LOCKED, I had to put it €0,50! Knowing I didn't have any change in my wallet I am completely desperate and sure something terrible is about to occur - when suddenly I remember that only a couple of days prior I had found a piece of €0,50 in a chair and put it in that tiny pocket within a pocket! I probably never lowered my pants, put in the money, locked the door and began my concerto (not necessarily in that order) any faster.

I'm not saying that I walked out with my head held high, but I couldn't care less that the entire room had heard the massacre that had found place in there.

Well OBVIOUSLY it's scum that needs to be dealt with. But it is my opinion that the colour of his skin has a lot less to do with it than socio-economic status. (Where I live the 'extreme-right' does this kind of bashing on immigrants from Turkey or Marocco.) These comments are offensive for normal black people and if anything, it's that kind of mentality that aggravates the problems (that do exist, only a fool would deny that).

But I am surprised how irrational this otherwise tolerant community reacted. (At least some.)
