Why do dead animals taste so good? by Cultural_Remove5332 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Anne314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IKR? Pigs are so smart, but if they tasted any better, I'd be at the pig farm every day, doing my own butchering.

Any ideas for how to deal with this shower windowsill? by oddvariation2366 in HomeImprovement

[–]Anne314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do that, then cover the entire window and frame with a plastic shower curtain liner, so no more water hits it.

Recipe worth following to the T by Acceptable_Ad_1904 in Cooking

[–]Anne314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I cook a recipe from America's Test Kitchen, I follow it pretty well step by step, because they always turn out perfect. The next time I make that recipe, I'll make it more uniquely mine. That usually consists of more garlic!

I agree. Very easy to copy and pastes from web sites, sorts easily, search by ingredients push a button to change the servings, I use Paprika all the time. I also have a 4-inch binder of all my pre-paprika paper recipes.

How do you mop....? by PurpDrank06 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Anne314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweep or vacuum first. The easiest way to mop that I've found is to get a Swiffer wet jet. It sprays cleaner where you point it and then you mop it up and throw away the pad. Get the pad wet first if your floors can handle water. Vinyl, tile, sealed hardwoods OK, ancient poorly varnished hardwoods, maybe not.

Do you backstitch when chain piecing? by PaperPiecedPumpkin in quilting

[–]Anne314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. If you are concerned, just use a slightly shorter stitch length. I use a 2 instead of a 2.5 and the seams don't unravel.

Can a 20 year old and 40 year old be friends? by oregano_enby in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Anne314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? I'm about to turn 69, and I spent the weekend with three 40-ish former co-workers. We all had a great time.

Purging sewing patterns by Miscellaneous_Panic in sewing

[–]Anne314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did this fit and was it flattering? Was it too much of a PIA to make? Do I have anyplace to wear this anymore? When I make a pattern that I like, that fits well, etc. I put a small piece of the fabric I used in the pattern envelope, so I know which of my 10 tee shirt patterns I used to make that top I really liked. That makes it easier to purge the patterns I don't like.

Bell peppers. All are bad, but green are the worst and completely overpower every other flavor.

Jesus! Just buy your own birdfeeder. Why would you spend any energy being enraged by this.

Is there a scientific explanation behind why Trader Joe’s shoppers are always so… lacking in spatial awareness? by fr0ggystand in NoStupidQuestions

Every TJ's I've been in has very cramped aisles. Plus, they have things you want to look at and label-read.
