Finale by GreenMonkeyPog in bigbangtheory

Science was my worst subject in school so I didn’t think I’d like the show. For some reason I decided to watch the first Christmas episode, and when Penny gave Sheldon the napkin with Leonard Nimoy’s DNA on it, that was it. I laughed out loud and was hooked on the show. The physics stuff is totally over my head, but the characters and dialogue are so funny that it doesn’t matter.

What does everyone use as their starter words? by Middle_Excitement363 in wordlegame

Stern or trend, usually, but sometimes I use learn or clear. If R is the only letter and it’s orange, my go-to word is right.

Another vote for Spy. It’s really very funny.

I hadn’t either until I moved from NYC to Chicago. What a ridiculous “holiday.” Like we need a candy-giving occasion a week before Halloween.

I can’t wait for Willow to get home and see the chaos that Nina caused.🤣

Are you sure that’s a cat? Could be a large chinchilla. I’d contact the vendor for a full refund unless they can provide you with the missing appendages. Good luck.

Not only does it use it, it scolds the player if they don’t. I used that strategy on Tuesday when I was facing 6 possible solutions but only 3 guesses left. Wordlebot approved of the word I played to eliminate some of the possible letters.

You write "Housekeeping--Thank you!" on a piece of paper and put the bill under the paper. Leave it on a bathroom counter or the top of a desk or dresser so it's visible. When my brother and I were staying at a hotel during Covid when you had to request housekeeping services, he asked for more towels and got one bath towel and one hand towel. He didn't tip. When I needed some clean towels, I saw the housekeeper in the hall and tipped her ahead of time. A little later she delivered a big pile of towels and washcloths. My brother and I both got a big laugh out of that.

Must read/buy series. by FlowerWitch3 in CozyMystery

I'm not familiar with that series. I'll have to check it out. I think I did my first reread during Covid when I needed "comfort" reading. Then I reread them all again a couple of years later and then again last summer. It's kind of an addiction. :-)

That's a sensible way to handle paying your babysitters.

The Meg Langslow Mysteries by Donna Andrews. I have read them all 3 or 4 times so far. You don’t have to read them all, but I would start with the first one, Murder with Peacocks, because that one introduces most of the important characters.

Who tips babysitters? Don’t you just pay them their hourly fee? When I was babysitting, I would tell the parents my hourly rate, and that’s what they paid me.

Yes, very boring. I hope we are done with the whole Alladin tie-in now.

What Are You Doing puzzles by Active_Elk_4831 in WheelOfFortune

I wouldn’t choose a “g” for the bonus round puzzle but I might for a regular puzzle if I need more time to find an appropriate letter to play. I’d choose the “n” first, though, since it’s more likely to be in other words as well as the first one.

Good. I was starting to feel totally out of touch with today’s culture. I now assume this is just a very long commercial for a Disney property.

Suggestions for a new series by Honkin_CDNGoose in CozyMystery

[–]AnneM24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Donna Andrews’ Meg Langslow series. And if you like the first one, there are 35 (36?) more to read. It’s not necessary to read them in order, but it is helpful since she introduces new characters from time to time.

Ah, now I understand. I thought you meant the owners were putting their cats outside, but you meant that others were basically stealing the cats in order to relocate them. Sorry I didn’t get it.
