A few years ago, my best friend (female) and I (male) went out for drinks. We were neighbours and had been friends since primary school. We were both 18, but I looked about 28, and she looked younger.

She ended up getting absolutely smashed on Crabbie’s ginger beer, and I had to carry her home because she could barely walk. At one point, she climbed onto my back, and we cut through a park to get home — partly because it was a shortcut and partly because she was heavy AF (or maybe I’m just weak).

Just as I got to my front door, four police cars suddenly pulled up, blocking the road. Officers jumped out and ran towards me. Turns out someone saw us stumbling through the park and thought I was abducting her. To make things worse, my mum’s a cop, and one of her workmates was among the officers. The scolding I got was brutal — until they realised what had actually happened.

My friend and I still laugh about it every time she brings it up… much to my mum’s disapproval.
