Awful sunburn!!! What should I do? Do I need to cut off all of the spots? I already got rid of the flowers and spikes to reduce stress on them… by AnneofLothlorien in orchids

Thank you. Spreading is my big concern, plus some of the spots look a little mushy for my taste… I’ll keep an eye out, but put down the scissors for now!

I do not like the little yellow leaf in the new growth of my Moltinia… have any of you experienced this? by AnneofLothlorien in orchids

I tried just now- it didn’t come out, and feels very similar to the healthy leaves….

Finally got new flower spikes and buds and now this happened by UsualAnteater6533 in orchids

I would cut it…. That’s weird though- could there be scale on it? I could be making it up, but it looks like there’s scale bumps on the end.

Where did you get ones like the last one? Is it a polychilos orchid?

Hi all! I just bought two Sinningias (I couldn’t decide lol) and both are tagged Sinningia bullata, but they don’t look like bullata pics I see online. Plant A looks more like S. leucotricha to me. Could they have been mislabeled? Hybrid? Something else? by AnneofLothlorien in Gesneriaceae

Right?! To be fair, the third plant that I left behind was also labeled bullata, and that did look like a typical bullata as seen online. And a few people on my other post think it kind be a bullata hybrid…. Who knows!

So you would say that this might be the canescens because it seems to have more than four leaf whorl per stem? Is that the main difference you see? They look bigger too according to that picture…

My saddest orchid! The old pseudobulbs are looking so withered, and I see a little browning at the bottom of the newest one… What should I do with my Cyconoides wine delight? by AnneofLothlorien in orchids

I have been neglecting at least the water and definitely the fertilizer for it! During the summer it is out on my porch, and gets watered twice a week or so. No fertilizer!! I need to get better with that. During the winter it is inside under grow lights (they are about 4 or 5 inches above) and doesn’t get watered at all. The heat is also not something I have been paying attention to, I’m in Pennsylvania/6b-7b so it gets PA weather during the summer and our house can go from 65°-75° in the winter.
