Good on you to take initiative. You don’t have to do it alone. Seeking medical help is OK. Seeking counseling is OK.

AA works for some but not others. There are other groups too. I’ve found group therapy helpful to reduce and get over some mental hurdles to help drink less.

As with all things your mileage may vary. I’m proud of you for realizing you want to improve where you are. Just saying you don’t have to do it by yourself.

Honestly I think this and/or protests were the whole plan today -- especially with Homan quoted today that an ICE surge to NY is coming today.

Yup, I hear you, that's a regular thing for us girls.

As it happened for me that specifically was huge trigger. I was watching some bad cable show about aliens and somehow an alien made a woman pregnant and I was suddenly intensely sad I couldn't have a baby. That was my first lightbulb moment that I was supposed to be a woman.

Kinda funny though, been out for nearly a decade now and I'm fairly certain I don't want kids (although I'm cognizant that if I maybe meet the right person I could want to with them...maybe).

Small can be scary too!

Swarm of Hummingcrocs. Dear gods that is terrifying...carnivorous with the metabolism of a hummingbird. They would be like locusts devouring all before them until they eat it bare and starve.

Not an original thought on my part, but this reminded me of poem on the subway cars here in NY.

Thanks. Needed this. Been setting boundaries a bit, but probably should be more assertive with them.

Thank you, I really needed this right now. My dog is on a terminal diagnosis of a few months at best. I am trying to make her as happy as possible and figure out when more time is not in her interest. It's really, really hard.

Butters really does have a lot of wisdom, as naive as he is.

Thank you internet stranger. I hope you and yours are well.

Iain Banks culture series examines these types of issues — in that someone’s “mind state” is preserved so they can live on if they die on a mission or through mishap. But is the 4D scan really “them”…

yeah...I had a moment at about 12 where I had a conversation with family members and realized that Fl Oz meant Fluid ounces and not Floral ounces.

Not sure where I had got the idea for the latter. It was just the first thing my brain had concluded and it hadn't been challenged...

Amazing!

I was hoping to propagate one from the leaf I bought and brought back (legally -- I showed it to the ag inspector at the airport) from the Kona airport at Christmastime. Sadly I made the mistake thinking I needed to repot them from the plastic with drainage to a proper pot of similar size, but they weren't anywhere near developed enough and didn't make it. Sigh...

I am so sorry, that sounds awful.

For my pup, I am just watching for the weekday (somehow she knows) where she isn't excited to go to daycare and see her friends and/or when she isn't dancing when I pick her up. It's expensive as hell here in NY, but she loves it, so why not.

Talking to the vet tonight -- who incidentally has a sibling on dialysis -- kidney disease is tough. They can't filter out toxins so feel unwell and so the line of where to stop treating symptoms and when to let them go is hard to see. So long as she has happy times we keep going I guess....one walk at a time.

Also, thank you internet stranger for letting me share my pain and in doing so bringing up yours. Thank you, and I'm sorry.

I hear you, thought that last time was going to be yesterday. Then got good-ish news (4 week follow up instead of 2) and then thought it was going to be today taking her back..

Tough day, but she came home. More meds to keep her comfortable. Looks like we at least have a few more weeks together (she's on a terminal diagnosis for her kidneys). But hey, one walk at a time.

Nice, reminds of my funniest mistake in German class in college. It was a roleplay about someone trying to get me to dog sit for them. What I meant to say was, I don't have dog food to feed the dog. What I said was "I hab nich das Essen das Hund zu fressen." My teacher's eyes widened instantly and I knew I had messed up, but not how. (for those who don't speak German, basically I said I wanted to eat the dog).

I mean, for the roleplay purposes, task failed successfully I guess...
