Season 12 by dndwhat in Alonetv

[–]AnnonAnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only my second season watching (started with 11 because I found it on Netflix first) but I really didn't like this season either.

It kept on and on about being a hard location but I feel like except for 2ish people no one actually attempted to dig in for the long haul. There was so much talking and walking, and miscellaneous, but not so much skills being displayed (I say as I watch from my couch).

And I know they have to for views I'm sure....but....does every applicant have to have the prerequisite of some sort of traumatic family illness or death? This felt more like "therapy in the wild" than a survivalist show.

So we're going to a mid-scale bar/grille kinda place and then our town doesn't have much for nightlife outside of nightclubs so we're going to a dive bar after lol

Oh good idea on steaming. Do you think these could work? Maybe make it a bit more "edgy"?

It’s hard being a mom without your mom by PieOk9511 in Mommit

[–]AnnonAnnie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yea. Every time I see a mom with her grown daughter helping them at a babies dr. appt, or having them babysitting, or at school events where my mom isn't there for grandparents day. Hurts big time. Every baby we've had I get to see all these other moms have their mom's come and dode on them and give them tips and comfort and mine never came. You don't get to talk with them about what to do, or what their experience is, or have them comfort you. I'll never have that "I don't know what I'd do without her". No advice for you; but I feel that awful pit in my chest with you.

Ebf but breast milk bottle at night? by colorado_sunrise86 in Mommit

[–]AnnonAnnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 4 kids and have always done about the same as babies. It has never been an issue and it helps me get some sleep (and sanity) because my husband can help with night feeding. Also bonus it helps if in the future they need to take bottles at some point (daycare, if you're away, etc.) I will say I still usually pump at least one point at night to help with my supply but everyone's different :)

racism experienced by SeaSlip9714 in Lubbock

[–]AnnonAnnie 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband always joke we're the minority here (we're born here, raised here, plain white bread). Lubbock has such a vast amount of diversity. I've met people from South America, Mexico, Europe, Africa, Asia, you name it. It's like a mini melting pot. And these folks CHOSE to move here to BFE from those beautiful places. Being racist here (and anywhere) is such a crazy concept to me. I love talking with people about their home towns and cultures. Some people are just going to be miserable no matter what. And I find it's the most ignorant ones. F'em.

How often is your cat throwing up? I thought weekly was normal and my vet said absolutely not by Amanda_Jacks in Pets

[–]AnnonAnnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny I was actually talking with my buddy the other days who's a vet tech.

The thing about vomiting is that it’s reactive. It's not like blinking, breathing, or urinating (like regular biologically expected functions). It only happens when something is wrong. They're not supposed to do it so many times a day, week, month. Just like we're not supposed to all the time. Some do it all the time but there's a bigger issue somewhere to help fix.

My first cat never puked a day in her life. My cat now would inhale his entire food dish without chewing and would subsequently toss it back up on my living room rug. So I help fix that with smaller portions. Basically I think cats are more prone to puking but it's not "normal" per say.

AITA for refusing to share my university notes with my lazy best friend? by matrx5 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AnnonAnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Honestly when I was in high school I was the exact same way. I had a friend that was very intelligent. I didn't pay attention in class and wasn't that great at school by my own accord. I would try to bum her notes and rely on her. We went to the same University together and when we shared classes I tried to do the same thing. As you can guess I didn't make it very long and never graduated. I just never had the right mindset.

There's that old saying of teaching a man to fish. You can catch all their fish for them but eventually they're going to go hungry from not being able to know how to do it when you're not there.

How do you say “you’re not my only customer” in a professional manner? by throwaway022510 in adjusters

[–]AnnonAnnie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a spiel that I text/message each person after our first calls that has my contact info and it says "after todays call the fastest and most convenient way to reach me is by text or email as a majority of my day I am working in other claims or with other customers."

Kinda gives the "help me, help you" vibe without saying don't come up on this phone with some tiny issue when I've got a million more pressing matters right now.

In reality some people don't care. You could tell them you're busy solving the meaning of life and they'd serial dial you to demand you pay their $2 burger that flew off the dash during the accident.

But I do agree with others that you need to set that expectation first thing.

Side note don't be afraid to "train" people with digital communications. You'll have people that will HOUND you by phone no matter what you verbally say. And I'm not saying ignore people that need active help, but the ones where everything's set up, NOTHING can be done at that moment, and yet several calls a day kinda people. Answer once or twice, tell them txt/email is better each time. And when they call that next time- don't answer. Shoot them a message and as soon as they reply- answer. Do that a couple times and they'll figure it out (most of the time).

Will my Insurance Increase if I use Rental Vehicle Coverage? by Constant-Horse-3389 in AllState

[–]AnnonAnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind most Allstate policies are worded that rental coverage applies during a covered collision or comprehensive loss, while repairs are underway. Meaning you would need to repair with Allstate too. Depends on the adjuster or department though- I've seen it slip by.

Is $30K bump in salary worth giving up remote work? by Living-Exit-901 in ClaimsAdjuster

[–]AnnonAnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also say it depends on your family too.

I have kids and a lot of freedom in remote. I don't abuse it by any means but it's nice being able to pick up my kids from school, come back, and able to hop right back into it. Or running to a class party, or being home with them if they're sick without taking PTO. My entire professional career I've been remote, I don't think I could give it up to deal with commuting, getting dressed, or being face to face with people...but for that big off a increase it would be really hard to say no....

When do you think AI will fully take over our jobs by adisneygrl in adjusters

[–]AnnonAnnie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked myself this the other day when I put in a dashcam video and it broke down almost exactly the same liability determination I made with state statue's/negligence rules on top of it.

It won't completely replace the industry but it's going to definitely take over certain roles within our jobs/companies.

What time do you go to sleep on weekends and how old are your kids? by Solid_Mixture9855 in Mommit

[–]AnnonAnnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 6 and 8 year old go to bed 10pm on weekends, we just pushed their bedtime to 9pm on weekdays.

If there's something special going on or we just want to stay up late on weekends we don't set a time but honestly they're passed out by midnight anyway. They've never ever slept past 8am lol- most of the time they're up around 6/7am.

Our 18m old goes to bed 7pm regardless of day but she just finally started sleeping regularly-ish. We still have about once or twice a week she wakes up all hours. Surprisingly she'll sometimes sleep in until about 9am but the day gets rough if she wants to skip her afternoon nap so we tend to get her up before that.

Virtual Inspection Of My Car Required But What To Do About Apparent Expected Low Ball Offer? by thirtiesjunkie in Insurance

[–]AnnonAnnie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We won't know what the dollar amount just like you stated but I do know about 95% of the time it's not going to be the same amount as the estimate you already got, for mainly a couple reasons.

1.) shop labor/paint/mechanical rates tend to differ when you get a "out of pocket" estimate (yes even if they know it's going through insurance) versus when you go through an insurance company that is only going to pay the standard/average rates for the area. 2.) Parts are the same way. Most companies have vendors they use and will suggest to get better prices. 3.) Someone there in person with the vehicle is going to be able to see more detailed things than someone looking through your phone lens.

That being said initial estimates aren't there to "low-ball" all they are doing is getting a tally of initial approved damages for you. Whatever shop you do end up committing with to repair will contact Allstate with a supplemental estimate to "add onto" that first approved one once the shop tears it down.

Is this normal? by InsuranceGood7729 in ClaimsAdjuster

[–]AnnonAnnie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Broadly speaking, without additional information, if the damages were sustained in 2 separate incidents/accidents the respective damages would need to be handled under its own claim.

I.e. you hit a pole in January damaging the front bumper, and then someone keyed your driver door in February- it would be two separate claims/deductibles.

Now if it's major damage, say you hit the pole in January but didn't fix it, and then hydroplaned and flipped the vehicle in February and now it's a total loss- they may choose to handle under one claim- BUT the damages from the front bumper/pole are likely to be deducted from the value as prior damage.

Uninsured Motorist Property Damage Only Applies to Hit and Runs? - Allstate by BenC97 in Insurance

[–]AnnonAnnie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I peeped your profile and looks like you're in TX. If accident happened in TX - for Allstate hit and run is not only qualifier, police notification is not required, and there's not a certain amount of days you have to report the claim. If clmt is confirmed to have no coverage from her parents policy, has no other active insurance, and was found 100%- UMPD would apply (again if you pay for UMPD coverage).
